I would love to see a full tour of the transmitter site, like going over the equipment like you did in the house, and show the wiring to the tower, I've always been a broadcast nerd, I toured an old analog transmitter site before they switched to digital, I agree with the others! You should do more video updates, look forward to seeing them! Best of wishes!

Check out the KNNZ-FM 89.1 Sign On 12-31-2012 video, it shows the transmitter site and equipment starting at the 4:00 mark. The tower then was only 200 ft and had a temporary 4 bay antenna, we now have an 8-bay antenna on a 300 ft. tower.

Yo Ken, make more frequent videos like these, I miss you! At least show some of what you do on the radio station.

I watched your Hunting pirate radio videos from beginning to end, anxiously awaiting the next video to see status updates. Then you were looking for funds to get the station up and going. Then once you got up and going there were no video updates from the youtube channel. I will gladly donate to help the station, but why would you work so hard on getting funds and then not update people along the way once you got what you wanted? I personally want to see updates from who I donate money to.Please shed some light on this conundrum

Veso266 I don't get this either. No advertising income = no money.

@@6h471 KNNZ Radio is what's called an NCE, standing for "Non-Commercial Educational," which signifies KNNZ as a non-profit enterprise. They've applied for 501 (c) (3) status with the IRS, which allows donors to take tax deductions on what they donate to the station. They're listener-supported, meaning if nobody donates, they go off the air. I don't think they're allowed to sell advertising as a non-com.

? The Collins 830 makes 1kw. The E model makes 5kw. Did you change transmitters??? If you did it's not in the videos anywhere. Even with 8 bay antennas the ERP ISNT 100k. We would love to see the amplifier your using if your now at 100k as well as the updated site survey!!! Great job so far

Yeah, I get the feeling that Ken doesn't record every move he makes, so there are gaps in the activity that you see in the videos. For example, in one video he was lamenting the 2 banks rejecting the loans they applied for, citing sub-par credit, necessitating going to individual donors to fund KNNZ's tower construction. In the next video, he's driving out to the transmitter site, showing concrete tower anchor slabs and a 50-ton crane hoisting the tower into position, with no explanation as to how the whole project got the funding. Did individual donors come through, or did they keep applying until they found a bank that said "yes?" We aren't told.
