I've owned a Quantum XT since they first came out.. I want to say I paid close to $800 brand new for my detector. At the time, I used to work for a school district in the grounds maintenance department. Back then there was only metal playground equipment. There was no plastic play equipment in wood chips, just steel pipe swings and jungle gyms and bars in sand.. Also, kids used to bring real money to buy their lunches every day. There was none of this charge up credit/debt cards cashless system all the school districts use today.. Let me tell you, in the late 90's, schools were a TARGET RICH environment. I found so much cash over a 4-5 year period, my QXT paid for itself at least 5 or 6 times over.. I found gold chains, class rings, silver coins, jewelry and a WHOLE lot of clad coins. I called it the 'quarter machine'.. I could always tell the denomination of the coin by the sound the detector made. The discriminator is second to none. Best thing is, I still own it and it works as well as the day I bought it. The best investment I've ever made.
The 9.5 Max Concentric also work awesome on this unit! I have several recent White's models, but the Quantum is still my go to for quick cherry pickin'...aside from my Tesoro's. I recently have seen several Quantum II's in online auction, and am surprised that sellers dont mention the adjustable Transmit Frequency feature of the Quantum, i think it would be a strong selling point for those that like to consider operating frequency in their detectors. Happy Hunting!!
Hey do you know if the quantum 2 7.8 can be used for gold detecting cuz im not seeing any indicators that its for gold .or does the jewlry cover gold? Thanks
What kind of depth are you getting? I have a qxt and with the 950 coil on an air test only getting about 4 or 5 inches. Confused because what I've read these are supposed to be deep machines...any thought?
Mark Lee you may have a bad coil if your only air testing "5....however the Qxt should be a step up from the quantum II.... I was digging stuff about 6"..... didn't have the detector long enough to figure max depth... but the 9.5" coil is my favorite and was not able to test that coil on this machine...on the classic whites machines with a 9.5" coil I can get past the 6" mark no problem on all coin signals
In future videos, please hold your camcorder steady. It is hard to watch a video that is constantly moving even a little amount. Going from the control box to the disk then back to the control box is hard to watch.

.....Daaaaaaaaaaauuuud...
Don't believe you know how to set this detector up... your setting selections made no sense.
Don't encourage his rotten behavior.
Wtf you going on about?? His "behavior" is fine, Karen.
@@Bootyhunter1971 Relax. It was a joke.
@@VanishedPNW Well no context so it wasnt a very funny one, but whatever.
