@elevatorclay When the building was built in 1994 they only funded one elevator hence the Otis. They had a empty shaft next to it for years. When they had the money to add another elevator, the contract was awarded to ThyssenKrupp instead of Otis because they were cheaper at the time. Not a wise decision.
Well if I turn the key to OFF inside the elevator cab, the elevator goes back into return to lobby mode and it will return. I can ride the Otis from 8 down to 1 if I am on the 8th floor. When 8 and 7 are turned off, it is only turned off inside the elevator, the call buttons on each floor will still call the elevator.
The Otis was built with the building in 1994. They ran out of money to install the second elevator so they left an empty shaft. When they decided to add another elevator, Tyssen Krupp won the contract and installed theirs.
@NEXPAR Well, most of them are pretty obvious. If it is a flush-mounted black square with no bumps, it's an Otis Series I. If it has triangles on a silver lattice, it's most likely schindler. A black rectangle is either an Otis LUXURY series or, if it has a metal piece going through it, it's a Montgomery Twinkie M/Vector, my favorite type of elevator
If I were to keep it on the On and remove the key, then anyone that knows how to operate the fire function could get in and take the elevator. You must put it on hold and remove the key to keep others from messing with it.
I got a question. Can you ride to the 8th floor, put the key to off and take it out, then ride the Otis elevator from the 8th floor directly to the 1st and then turn off fire service mode?
ElevatorLiker#1 VGCP I don't exactly remember when. Each and everyday I go through by subscriptions and add videos I want to watch to my watch later. At some point you must have commented on someones video and at that point I subbed you as I figured you would start posting some videos. That is how I usually find new filmers is based on comments on other channels.

This reminds me of when I went to the fifth floor of our hospital in Kearney via its oldest elevator. 🔺
Does anything occupy the 6th floor now?
Now it is full of offices for the university. Oddly enough nothing that pertains to the Library.
No, just an enthusiast. I have access to elevator keys due to my job with maintenance.

Yep most all buildings on campus use Simplex

No I work for the College where this building is located. I have access to all buildings here.
@stevethemeave45 The eighth floor houses the university Presidents board room.
No just on the two fire switches.
What's the purpose of the "HOLD" position of phase 2 lockswitch?
Sorry for the inconvenience, but can you videotape yourself riding the Otis elevator from 8 to 1?
@neaelevator : Do you own this building?
Thanks!
im a time traveller
Are you an elevator technician?
What's On 8?
8 is just a couple of meeting rooms.
neaelevator I See You Subbed Me 1 Year Ago When I Didn't Have Any Videos? When Did You Subscribe Me? That Was Very Nice!
