Catherine your videos are among the highest quality on UA-cam. Your selection of background music to fit the particular scene isn’t happening by accident. As a former photographer back in the days of film and large format photography I can say unequivocally that your work is the byproduct of your passion for photography and your love of nature. Carry on Catherine…you have the very best show on UA-cam. 🤠
I’m dating myself, but I remember when the Eastern Sierras were almost empty of “tourists”. Seems everyone went to Yosemite in the West. I’ve always loved Lone Pine, Bridgeport and the beautiful mountains and valley. Thanks for the video!
Love these small towns. When I did a cross country trip a few years ago, the small midwest towns were my favorite. Lots of character and amazing food!
Gorgeous area! I would love to see more small towns!
Catherine, we have been to lone Pine so many times, and my husband has climbed the mountaineering trail of Whitney. Thank you so much for visiting some of our smaller towns, especially and showing others how special they are.
I used to drive through Lone Pine every summer with my Dad and brothers on our way to the Sierras for camping and backpacking from 1968 to 1985. Thank you for making this video. It brought back a lot of good memories.
For my Dear Friend Catherine, This video was well worth the wait. 1 extra day and on a major holiday. Well, young lady, to say U have OUT DONE YOURSELF, would be an understatement. What wonderful new style video for you. Humans have loved a good story since they sat around the campfire. People, places and things. Before the spoken word there was the dance, acting out the stories. The story tellers were always revered by the elders and the peoples. What a wonderful trip down ur beloved Sierra's. Your very soul is as free as the wind while there. Ur photography as always kis breathe taking. Nice to C your old camper again. I deeply enjoyed 😉 your adventure this weekend and on the holiday. Thank your family for giving you time to film on their holiday weekend as well. In closing my long winded statement, l enjoyed your new video style very much, thank you. For u sweetie 🎉 I picked them myself. 😊
Thank you 🙏
If you aren’t a writer, you should be!
@@CatherineGregoryAdventures go
my family has ranches north of there, big ranches--Lone Pine is just a place next to some very nice mountains--all the LA people have ruined the place--women who move there and try to raise a family hate the place--when you just visit a place you know nothing--move there and find the real deal--you will move away just like everybody else
Another great video Catherine. I always look forward to your scenic shots and narrative.
The Hitchhiker directed by Ida Lupino was shot there? Cool. Ida Lupino, a master of film noir, was excellent on both sides of the camera. In those days a female director was unheard of but she proved to be unstoppable and unique. The great Lupino family of actors and performers go back 300 years in the entertainment industry. She was the real thing. A powerhouse.
Catherine! I saw the title of your video and my very first thought was BISHOP, CA! I was so close! But I’m right, too, as the Eastern Sierra is the most stunning place in CA. I’ve lived & traveled the entire state all my life (I’m 61) and with ocean views, lake views, desert views, Mountain View’s … Bishop (and now Lone Pine) are my top 3 views of all times. I’m sure the guests at the campgrounds include Bishop Mule Days participants & fans. And rightly so. Bishop Mule Days one of the best family events ever. I am glad to see so much snow on the the Sierras as we need that run-off to last. I also loved the music you played with your video. I enjoyed this content so much and appreciate all of the history of the area you included. Al the best, Laura ❤
As someone who is getting ready to hit the road soon, I would love to see more of this content. While it's great for us introverts to spend time alone in beautiful campsites it is still important to get out and mingle and hear stories and learn history of the area. Thank you
Sounds like me...I'm a bit of an introvert but love talking to the local folks on road trips and hearing stories.
You certainly do not shortcut on content for us, Cat 👌👍❣️ your historical narrative is full & satisfying our interest to places 'out there' which I've not visited. Phenomenal scenery as always. I've heard about the Alabama Hills before with pictures, but you out do them all. I can see why you love that area❤ so much. Have a wonderful safe week ahead 💕
Thank you so much Barbara!
I enjoy driving through the Four Corners area - less populated mountains and deserts - small towns and less traffic.
Love this !❤ I absolutely love mountains n the flowers are beautiful. It makes me want to take a shovel n dig lol I love the small towns n the history. That diner was awesome! I would love the decor n looking at the old film posters. The museum is amazing. I love history n beauty so u can’t go wrong sharing these hidden gems . I’ve never been to California n Likely never will so I truly enjoy all your videos. I love the hiking / backcountry Best But I love to do those things ! But I also love the scenery n history of places and was a great video. Beautiful areas ! Thanks for sharing n safe travels
Wow! I will be adding this to my bucket list. So glad you added the small town, restaurant and museum to this video. Thanks
Catherine, i added a comment below, but just want to show my appreciation for sharing your travel life with us. All the best, Laura
Thank you Laura.
Absolutely loved this video. Will add this place to the very long list of places to visit. I love seeing small towns that are rich in history. Thank you for another great video.
Lone Pine is one of the most beautiful places. I was there in 97 and it was just so striking. Good Job!
Great episode. We came across Lone Pine after driving through Death Valley on our first trip to the US, from the UK. We’d never heard of it but stayed a night and absolutely fell in love with it. We’ve been back once since then and hope someday to see it again, so yes, please show us some of the more interesting towns, as well as the hikes - they can be special places too.
I can believe it got full everywhere Catherine, especially on Memorial Day. Look at the snow, bet Tioga Pass is probably still closed with that snowpack. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, used to live in Mammoth and Bishop. I'd probably still live in Mammoth except for those 60 feet of snow Winters, got old fast.
I remember that 2017 video of you camping in the Alabama Hills. I remember telling you we used to call them the Iron Hills from Lord of the Rings I guess and we hunted rattlesnakes for antivenin.
I remember driving up to Whitney Portal in an old pickup with the heater blowing full blast to keep from over-heating. A little trick to any younger viewers, your heater is an extra radiator.
Thank you for yet another wonderful video. My late father was raised in Lone Pine, was fiercely proud of the place and is interred in the cemetery north of town. He would have enjoyed this as much as, if not more than I. He and I climbed Mt. Whitney when I was nine. It was the best bonding moment we ever had. Again, thank you, Catherine.
Many Lone Pine area memories with my dad and brothers, we grew up in California city less than 90 minutes away. Then with many friends through the years. Check out my comment above about almost making it there today, then seeing Cat's video--very thankful. Best to you Brian :).
Yes, please more small town footage.
Exactly - we are here one year after this video and the "LEAVE NO TRACE" could not be more important. Thanks for the video.
I always appreciate the historical information on the areas too 😊 👍💜
WOW. Your videos are out of this WORLD!!!
I have watched every single video you made , what enjoyable videos omg. Is like traveling with you .
Those little towns are the best !!!
Looking forward to next Sunday !!
Stay well !!
This is probably one of my favorite videos ever. You gave us so much information here. The scenic view is mind blowing. One day I will be able to camp there and enjoy my solitude and those mountains OMG. America is beautiful. Your editing is A+, absolutely no question about it.
As always what amazing scenery! A-freaking-mazing! 😊
I always drive the backroads and stay away from the interstates I have discovered some cool places on the backroads
Hi Mike!
Holy Cow….Alabama Hills is one of our favorite places! We had a near disaster, we planned to stay at Whitney Portal Campground with a 25’ Airstream! Fortunately, Carol’s Sister alerted us that the campground was closed. We stopped at the Visitor Center and confirmed…but we had no idea Whitney Portal was at the top! We would have been in so much trouble if we had gone up there with our Airstream and the Campground closed….there would have been anywhere to turn around! We learned a really big lesson…now I double check all campgrounds for access. Anyway, we love that area…
You would have come across a sign that recommends no trailers beyond a certain point. There is a one way loop in the parking lot at the top, but it’s tight.
I like tours of small town areas near the exceptionally awesome places.
Yes, really enjoy knowing where to camp and seeing the town, as well as the beautiful scenery.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing an area close to your heart. I can't wait to visit. 👍😎🇨🇦🌲
Enthralling views, the sierra nevadas a crown jewel indeed, as well as Catherine's channel, God bless your travels.
Really enjoyed this. So, "YES" to more small town explorations.
We have been camping in the eastern sierras for many years and I always enjoy stopping in Lone Pine. This fall when we head up the 395 I will insist that we stop at the museum, I’ve always wanted to go. Thank you for showing off this great little town!
You filled me up with beauty, love and gratitude here.
How many times did I say, Thank you Cat?
super +++
Yes - a good idea, Catherine; the combination of a small town visit with a scenic area around, as an alternative some weeks to the longer backcountry hiking trips. Best wishes.
Lovely backdrop for a town. The Eastern Sierras definitely a stunning place.
Interesting little town.
It is certainly a good idea to feature towns near where you hike as it gives people an idea of whats near by.
Cat, thank you for bringing us along with your journeys❤
Welcome back to CA! Love Lone Pine!
Very nice Catherine! I know you put a ton of work into this and I for one give it a great big thumbs up and saying ,, Thank you!!
I so love your scenic adventures! The landscape is beautiful! Going thru old towns is way cool...seeing all the stuff we grew up with as kids. Thanks Cat!
Ansel Adams took many wonderful B&W pictures in the Alabama Hills.
Love Lone Pine. It's so interesting, great hiking too. Safe travels.
Wonderful video! Thanks so much for sharing info about Lone Pine. Great little town and I learned some new things!
Every video you make is great! Thank you for bringing us along on your life journey
Love this video! Thank you for posting.

Nice tour of the town! I love seeing new places like that.
Loved it, & thank you Cat. Hope to see more. Love small, interesting towns. :)
Thank you, Catherine for another great video presentation. Yes, I would love to see more similar videos in these awesome little towns that are jewels along the way.
Thanks for sharing.
I do like this format and style of post. Thanks for the bucket list item as my retirement approaches.
Thanks for the tour, ur a great guide Rembrandt - but ur shots and editing of the Mt Whitney area are fantastic! Have a safe holiday, love ur stuff!
Truly, truly one of my favourite places on this entire planet. The beautiful Sierra Nevada, stunning valleys, Death Valley just off to the east - just magical!
Loved this video. Thanks for sharing the town with us. Love variety in your videos.
GREAT JOB KAT!!!! Loved the content, you just keep getting better and better!!! Be safe!
Loved this video! Happy Memorial Day!
I love your in depth videos of the places you go. Keep them going.
Mountains are beautiful! Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the video this week. I love learning about the towns, while exploring.
That is an amazing area! It seems almost every mile along the 395 is some sort of creek running down from the mountains. Aberdine was a favorite stopping place on our way home from Mono Lakes camping. Our tradition became my daughter would quickly catch and release a fish then we'd be on our way. I haven't been up that way in years and this video and format is a great way to bring back some awesome memories! Thank you! BTW don't forget "Gunga Din" was filmed in that area too!
Catherine, your subject matter is always so well composed and edited, and I think that’s such a talent. My husband and I always look forward to watching your next video. We’ve been watching you for a couple of years now and so appreciate what you share about your adventures and travels. AND you do it very professionally.
Sold my jeep wrangler in Costa Mesa CA and bought a 1997 Honda VT1100 motorcycle. I rode it to Lone Pine and met my nephew, family and friends there. Cool town! Left there and took off across death valley to Vegas. A trip I'll never forget. RIP Nate, love you always.
Love, love, love this video. Thank you😊
Hope you have a wonderful Memorial Holiday😊
Great looking town, thanks for taking us along, stunning views. Safe travels. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
Great insight Cat and as usual the scenery is amazing ❤
Beautiful small town, I love small towns! Alabama hills and Tuttle look like great camping areas. Thanks for another great video Kat!
Really enjoyed your video! Absolutely beautiful mountains and scenery! Thank you for taking me along with you to places I'll never get to see!
Great video! Love this kind of content!
Awesome video Catherine! I liked how you included a view of Owen's Lake from Turtle Creek Campground... and even nicer seeing some water in it! Thanks for sharing!
You mostly hear about the big coastal cities when people talk about California. But people forget it has natural beauty!
Yes, how about Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyons, Redwoods National Forest, Mammoth Lakes and June Lakes basins, Mt Shasta, Trinity Alps. Lots of negative chatter in the media about California, but it is a Very "Golden State".
The only part of California people see on the news and UA-cam is San Francisco or LA therefore they think the entire state is a shithole place.
Catherine, I thoroughly enjoy all of your videos, your descriptions and background music are soooo relaxing. Also, I do really like this small western town tour format. My wife and I have been to Lone Pine twice and thought your description was right on point. Thank you again for all of your excellent western US backcountry camping suggestions and tours!
You show the beauty of this area and provide so much helpful information!
Great video Catherine .. I would request more content including the interesting towns you’re visiting along the way. Thanks again !
Nice video, Cat. I liked the new format. Do more of these as well as your usual camping/hiking videos!
Lone pine is beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Yes, this was a good video of the town and informative!
Always happy to see my local stomping grounds through your eyes, Cat. I've never been to the Lone Pine Visitor's center. Looks like a cool place to visit! As you know, I'm a fisherman, so I usually gravitate to places with a lake nearby. I'm a fan of the town of Bishop. It's close to the high sierras, where I like to spend my Summer weekends out of the desert heat. Have you ever been to Kernville, and the upper Kern River? I'd like to see you do a video of that area. The Kern River Valley is an interesting place. Further North from Kernville is the Trail of 100 Giants, one of the premier groves of giant sequoias. The Kern River Valley is an easy one-hour drive from me, and another one of my favorite destinations. Excited to see what next week's video holds! Hopefully, you'll still be in the area.
Hi Mark. Thank you. I haven’t been to Kernville, but definitely plan on doing some videos in the area. :)
That was an informative video with excellent views of the area. We have travelled through there and never knew all these interesting places and history. Thank you for a job well done. You create one of you tubes best video productions as far as time ,subject and photography goes!
This was a very informative video, Cat. I really appreciated it and I vote for more videos like this. :)
Yes, I like seeing the small towns. Very interesting and very beautiful. Thanks a lot for sharing everything with us.
I love all the historical facts! TY!
Nice video, love south-eastern Cali. Thank you for the "leave no trace" message, I wish all video creators would share this vital message often.

Hi Catherine! Love this type of video of small towns mixed with beautiful road shots or hikes. Thanks for the awesome scenery. Love those mountains! Have a super fine week!
Thank you so much Joyce!
Such beautiful places, dream destinations for sure. Thank you Catherine for showing them.
I really enjoyed this video Catherine! Nice little town, beautiful mountains!❤
Great video/ I enjoyed every minute of it and I always have when you tell about the history of the places you hike in or places you visit. You don't have to be plagued by bugs to be interesting, you just are by being yourself and showing what you are interested in. Your voice is clear and calming so one never gets tired of hearing you explain things. My hat is off to you.
Spent a week in Bishop last fall exploring from Mammoth to Lone Pine, so much to see and do in that area, fall colors are spectacular .😊
hi catherine, i love your videomaking style. the vibe is mellow and chill and corresponds with the subject which are these beautiful natural spaces. been watching ur backpacking and car camping videos, pls dont stop
It's no surprise that people would want to see such a wonderful town and surrounding area. Thank you for sharing.
