    Thanks for this demo on the Snake Knot...as well the one using a buckle. I made a couple for our grandchildren in 'orange'. Here in Canada we have 'Truth and Reconciliation Day'...the color is orange. They went over really well.

    So, I was thinking, do you think that it would be possible to have the colors alternate on one side side instead of having one color only one side?
    Videos are clear and easy to understand keep up the great work!

    • @TheWeaversofEternity
      @TheWeaversofEternity  8 років тому

      Yes, you could. It would work best with round leather cord.

      I already made one with flat round leather cord and it was pretty good! Thanks for comment and have a nice day~^^

    very awesome tutorial! quick question though, how do you add the charm in the middle and continue the knot?

    • @TheWeaversofEternity
      @TheWeaversofEternity  9 років тому

      +David Galvan Just slip the bead on by feeding both strands through the bead, then restart the knot as you did in the beginning.

    what is the best ratio of cord to bracelet length?

    • @TheWeaversofEternity
      @TheWeaversofEternity  8 років тому

      There isn't really a best ratio as all weaves are different, but for the snake knot 1' per 1" of bracelet tends to work. You'll probably end up with some extra.

    Hi there, I was wondering if you could please let me know the name of the color paracord used in the bracelet on the cover photo with the brass bead, it is the same you say that you are currently wearing in the video. I really like the goldish tan color that is with the red in the bracelet and would like to know the exact color name so I can get my hands on some as well, thanks. =)

  • @whiteexpress94

    Is it 1 inch for 1 foot as per usual with the cobra stitch bracelet? Meaning, I have a 6 inch wrist so I should be needing a 6 foot paracord right?

    • @TheWeaversofEternity
      @TheWeaversofEternity  9 років тому

      whiteexpress94 It's about the same. 6 ft should be enough, you can always just give yourself a little extra to be safe.

    Does paracord start to ware away if it gets wet

    • @MrRelic351
      @MrRelic351 10 років тому +4

      Yes and no. The bigger problem is the natural oils of your skin eat away at it and sap its strength. So all these people wearing the bracelets for survival are actually just kind of shooting themselves in the foot.

    • @TheWeaversofEternity
      @TheWeaversofEternity  10 років тому +2

      Dade K It's no different than without the bead. When you've tied up to the part where you want your bead, slip the bead onto both strands then restart the snake knot like you did in the beginning to finish off the bracelet.

    could you just tie a knot with the two leftover strands

    • @TheWeaversofEternity
      @TheWeaversofEternity  10 років тому

      You mean just a basic overhand knot? Sure you can do that, you can tie whichever knot you like. The diamond knot does make a better knot for keeping the bracelet closed though because it's bigger and more symmetrical.

    This is an old video but still good tutorial. Learned something new until you got to the last knot and loop, you got me lost because it was to quick, need to slow down, do it step by step, plus your finger are on the way most of the time so it's hard to see what you're doing.

    • @TheWeaversofEternity
      @TheWeaversofEternity  9 років тому

      +BIG BEN I have a specific tutorial on that knot so I didn't go through it slowly on this video. Just search for Diamond Knot on my channel. :)

      Hello. A really nice informative video, but I encountered the same problem. And going to your other video with the same tan cord up & down added to the confusion. It would have been so nice if you did the detailed ending as you did in the start. Still, I'm not giving up and I'll figure this out. Thanks.
