Yes, Sadly. They are only playable on Ouranos Island, Which Makes sense, They are supposedly trying to do everything as quick as they can. But they are fun to play as. Once he throws it, dash towards him and attack him, but once the shield comes back parry it. Since he threw it so far away that means the parry sends it farther and you get more hits on him. Unfortunately the low object draw distance is an engine issue and not a game issue, so you'd have to essentially rebuild a ton of the game's logic after going in and fixing it. It's an issue with the foundation, not the game on top of it. Frontiers was built using the same engine as Lost World and Forces so it wasn't designed to facilitate a free moving camera in a big open environment.
Tails plane is awesome. You can go from side to side in no time. Also try doing the towers on hard mode with Sonic. It's really hardcore and pulls no punches.

4:21 The difference is that Rail Canyon had a reason, being a train station over a canyon and all. There's no internal consistency in Frontiers. That's the first part of the problem. The second is that is doesn't fit the style of the area. The rails on Kronos could have been vines or stone transport lines or something.
I think they kind of explained the floating rails away in the update. Something about Sage and Sonic having a conversation and Sage asking if that's how he sees certain things. So it might be something tied to those affected by cyber-space that they perceive these things in a different way or something. Not the best explanation but maybe to a a common person they're not seeing an island with random floating rails and objects, only those who are hooked into the grid and interpret it a certain way.

You saying the platforming wasn't too hard genuinely had me baffled... then I saw the balloons and extra springs. Wtf is that?? How?!? Is that like an easy mode thing???
You know that a lot of the automation is gone above easy mode, yes? A lot of daring jumps and airboosts, a lot of momentum game (and probably a lot of ways to get shortcuts with the spindash) and no small amout of narrow passages high in the sky (you can save yourself if you're good enough). The only point I switched to easy was in the last tower an even then it was for the trial at the top and not the climbing itself. About the challenge you were stuck on: there's another way to do it, but it requires you to know how to time a parry.
Have you got the spindash for sonic yet If not you can go back to the previous islands and you must s rank all the action chain challenges (you have to go to the original ouranous island to do the last 10)
The second tower's challenge was way too fine tuned to a strict timer. Made absolutely no sense-- Same goes for the Master King Trial. It's like they didn't account for how much time would be wasted on your way through the ridiculously tight time frame on top of needing to perfect parry-- Which if you failed ONCE, you're severely harming your chances of success. It's a shame this is so hard to get through, even on easy ( Do the Master King Trial on easy, bigger parry window. You'll thank me-- Keep your pride out of it. It's not worth your sanity or time.) because messing around the sandbox as all the characters made me feel like a kid again.. But if kids (And some of us adults.) progress to the final challenge, the game holds Amy, Knuckles and Tails ransom until you complete it. Pretty whack. The credits made me cry again though, so that's neat.
Damn, I still haven't beaten the game yet, still haven't saved Knuckles lol, but hearing this DLC makes the game even harder makes me not want to come back to the game. I don't like it when games get in the way of me enjoying their stories and characters so it's a real bummer to hear they bumped it up a lot. Sigh, oh well, I guess I'll just play other games in my backlog for now like I have been.
The platforming getting me heated quite a bit actually but that was fine. Only thing i really hated with this personally was the Master King trial. Only time in the entire game were i caved and switched to easy
I sadly couldn’t really get behind the 3rd update I love the base game but this update didn’t really keep me I still have yet to beat the final boss so maybe the ending will be good
did you not finish this at the time of making this video? i don’t understand how you can talk about this update without talking about the final boss and ending which is the MAIN thing here
If you got the game on easy mode is gonna give does pop stuff to get up on the tower easy , but if you got it on hard mode , oh god is a nightmare is hard as fu$*#!!!!!!!! So hard
Morio Kishimoto maybe went a little too hard on the difficulty after being constantly told by us the game was too easy for a year. I appreciate the old school "f you" challenge in a primarily children's game though, in a way. I'm guessing the next game will have more of a fair balance.
I can’t imagine anything would make me try Sonic Frontiers again. It was so bad. It was anti-level design. That wasn’t an open world. Just a field with a roller coaster. You want open world platforming you gotta go Sunset OD.
im sorry but the snake trial and the master coco trial are too brutal for me to try and beat this dlc. I just dont like it, and just cause its free doesnt mean its beyond critiscism

@@timlyons3420 No. I play on hard and I am experienced with modest to high level devil may cry. The Master Trial shows the flaws with the game, like how wonky hitboxes are and how vague perfect parries are. Mostly on the wyvern fight. The hitboxes of the second slash come out before the slashing animation actually connects to super sonic, which throws me off like hell because that's not sensible action game logic.

Anyone else notice this man was playing on easy?
Will enjoy this DLC and then not long after will be the release of Sonic Superstars. Not a bad time to be a Sonic the Hedgehog fan.
Hi I’ll come back to this when I’ve finished it myself
A lot of that footage was on easy mode........... 😐
Sigh, oh well, I guess I'll just play other games in my backlog for now like I have been.
the battle rush and cyber space challenge were added in update 1 and new game + was added in update 2
Dave is actually valid I use them a lot
Great video, but bro how did you NOT talk about rhe spin dash? It changes the WHOLE game!
That was update 2
And just to note this but I think sonic automatically gets the spindash on update 3 island even without the action chain challenge
the umbrella guys have a easier way to defeat and that would be hit them when they throw the hat and when it gets close to his head you parry it
Almost forgot this guy plays sonic games
Cyberspace level 4-b is inane difficulty you might wanna try it took me 2 hours to fully beat it was a mile harder than 1-2
Sonic Team heard people say the game was easy and REALLY took it personally 😂
What I wouldn't mind is sonic heroes 2 or a sonic heroes remaster and or remake.
Leggo! Would like you to do a review of a play station 1 game call Syphon Filter one of my favorite games that was an instant classic.
On hard difficulty, scaling those towers are H A R D
The platforming getting me heated quite a bit actually but that was fine. Only thing i really hated with this personally was the Master King trial. Only time in the entire game were i caved and switched to easy
I sadly couldn’t really get behind the 3rd update I love the base game but this update didn’t really keep me I still have yet to beat the final boss so maybe the ending will be good
This game is so jank lol
It seems like you played on easy mode cause all the balloons on the towers it’s so much harder same for the bosses
Did u know they added momentum and the spindash it’s a game changer
did you not finish this at the time of making this video? i don’t understand how you can talk about this update without talking about the final boss and ending which is the MAIN thing here
Lol he called it easy while playing on easy
Cool shirt
I need to play this
If you got the game on easy mode is gonna give does pop stuff to get up on the tower easy , but if you got it on hard mode , oh god is a nightmare is hard as fu$*#!!!!!!!! So hard
5:53 Of course Re:Mind was $30 while Final Horizon is free.
My friend how do u have balloons on the platforming challenges i played on hard and there were no balloons at all
Sheessh that is aggressive pop in trow some ps2 fog in or somthing
It seems like we might get a new main villain of the Sonic game series
Morio Kishimoto maybe went a little too hard on the difficulty after being constantly told by us the game was too easy for a year. I appreciate the old school "f you" challenge in a primarily children's game though, in a way. I'm guessing the next game will have more of a fair balance.
It's not that hard but master king trial? I do not care that is way too hard
@@InvisibleMan849I felt acomplished after beating it though. They finally made the bosses actually challenging and not glorified cutscenes.
@@Sydney_Angelyt true
Bro literally didn’t know that the spin dash is unlockable
Will the pro help with the draw distance
Crash Team Rumble time free this weekend
Would like if sonics friends wouldn’t be blurry all the time would like skins of them just being normal like sonic
I can’t imagine anything would make me try Sonic Frontiers again. It was so bad. It was anti-level design. That wasn’t an open world. Just a field with a roller coaster.
You want open world platforming you gotta go Sunset OD.
Too bad the jukebox doesn't work when you enter the Another Story ring
Saying tails is the worst feeling when knuckles is standing there is crazy. Knuckles is horrid! (My personal opinion)
You can plants Amy
Wow. The towers are brain dead on easy mode 14:40
Matty this is 3 updates they drip fed the content over this year why do people not do there research
Nice
im sorry but the snake trial and the master coco trial are too brutal for me to try and beat this dlc. I just dont like it, and just cause its free doesnt mean its beyond critiscism
Or you're just too comfortable with the non threatening difficulty of the original game
im fine with difficult stuff, but this is just insane difficulty@@timlyons3420
@@timlyons3420Difficulty? This isn't good difficulty, not the difficulty that encourages you to get better it's the kind of difficulty that makes you hate the game and the difficulty spike is just stupid and everything feels like it wasn't play tested.
@@timlyons3420 No. I play on hard and I am experienced with modest to high level devil may cry. The Master Trial shows the flaws with the game, like how wonky hitboxes are and how vague perfect parries are. Mostly on the wyvern fight.
You know in the second phase when the wyvern does a two hit combo? The hitboxes of the second slash come out before the slashing animation actually connects to super sonic, which throws me off like hell because that's not sensible action game logic.
I stated on the switch then got it for my pc. The difference was night and day 😂.
