I've done custom engine/trans installs in more cars than you'd believe, and they were almost all high dollar, top notch projects (my previous employer was a high dollar street rod builder). You need to point the tailshaft at the pinion and forget everything else you've heard. Mount it permanently and check pinion angle with the suspension loaded at ride height. The only reason it needs any angle is for the u-joints to lube themselves (non-issue). You also need the pinion pointing a few degrees down so that it'll be straight when the axle wraps, if you aren't going to do anything to mitigate that issue. Also, your shifter plans are going to change potentially once you realize how the 6l80e operates but this depends largely on how you're going to control the engine/trans..
Yes, the angle of the frame has nothing to do with anything. Get the car to ride height and adjust the drive train angles based on the level of the whole car. Not the frame
The "extra" pulleys are to keep the belt in contact with as much of the alternator pulley as possible. You might be able to get a good contact patch with fewer pulleys, but don't just pull them all and leave a small arc of alternator pulley contact patch, or it will slip constantly and not charge worth a crap.
I think it would be so badass to have like a dailyable rat rod truck like that just dead nuts reliable wipers maybe like a custom vintage air system disc brakes nice exhaust I’d daily tf out of it

Definitely wouldn't have chosen an LS drivetrain for that. That's pretty out of place but hey, it'll make it easy, powerful, and sound good.. That straight axle front end and 6L80e should make for pretty much the most terrifying vehicle you've ever experienced!lol I'm excited to see how it all works out. I'm pretty sure you can get super close to running 9's and it will still have the potential to run 190mph!! Now, the vehicle itself will not be capable of anything north of 130mph or so, at least without making a mess of your panties and your poodle skirt, but as I said, it'll be interesting!!
No, you need GTO seats for your GTO.. Unless you have an old GTO, but an 04-up GTO needs either factory seats or race seats. Camaro seats would be lame in them..

@@mastercricket7626 yes I know that but bumble bee will NEVER be a chev . The only reason it was a chev in that movie was because chev sponsored it
@@jaysenballantine5489 true .. but you got to think .. alotta the younger crowds have no clue what we are talking about. Tbh I would not dought anyone born past 90 haven't a clue lol ... but yeah it's funny how they can do that tho huh 😅 go from a v dub to a American car lol talk about a 180 ... and all cuz money talks .. sad story of the world ... lol . Was nice for that lil flashback tho bro .. ty ..peace and love bro keep it rad stay safe and build on..l8z fam and have fun, cuz life is to short to drive boring cars lol 😂 🤘🏽✌🏾
Keep the white walls.
👍👍
Preston, i triple-dog dare you to ev-swap one of the projects you have... DC swap even... a warp 9 or a hyper warp attached to a 6 speed? think of it!! a LOW 9 car... and no gas, no brakes!!
Hahaha but no engine rumble ☹️
Hahahaha 😂😂
Classic Baby Moons and those fat whitewall tires.

@@GARAGEIdiotS No problem! Personally I think it would give it a modern, but still vintage look. And I'm loving the build!

PRESTON.....CHIP FOOSE RIMS....🫣😉😁👍

I need those front two seats for my gto
No, you need GTO seats for your GTO.. Unless you have an old GTO, but an 04-up GTO needs either factory seats or race seats. Camaro seats would be lame in them..
Message me @garage_idiots
How about some light color T-shirts for the summer.
