One of the things I love about watching ya'll is that you genuinely seem to love your day-to-day life. Most people have a job they tolerate so that they can have the life they want outside of their job. Ya'll seem to have jobs that are a fundamental part of your life & an extension of your lives, which makes dealing with the work much more satisfying. That is a blessing just to watch.
I think one of the things that impresses my husband and I the most is that you and Erin take care of business, but you are compassionate. Rare qualities nowadays! Thanks for taking us along today.
As always, thanks for letting us tag along. The love you have for your animals is obvious. Treat them with care and respect, give them the best life you can. It's the right thing to do. They taste better too. :-)
You might consider using the timer feature on your phone to prevent over filling the water tank. It only takes a few seconds to set an alarm to remind you to turn off the water. From Indiana, I thoroughly enjoy you channel.
Thank you mike for these videos. I just had surgery Tuesday where they removed my colon and I’m stuck in the hospital recovering. I’ve been battling Crohn’s disease and was diagnosed with colon cancer last month. Your videos are always great and always a morale booster. Thank you so much.
Mike, I just bought some of your jerky and honey today! God gives us such good things. That’s why we thank Him before we eat. These are precious creatures and allow us to have life.
Thanks for the video guys. I know it's a ton of work on your part doing these daily vlogs but let me speak for a lot of people. You're keeping a multitude of people sane during this shit storm. Thank you again.
Mike thank you for making videos right now. With all the covid19 stuff, businesses closed, friends and family sick and more to come, isolating at home, seeing some open space, cows, and someone else living their life in the fresh air is a huge relief. I can’t see the sky from where I’m isolating, so I’m loving seeing the sky from your perspective.
Hey Mike, a quick shout out to thank you, Erin, and the rest of your family for doing the 30 day vlog videos. I'm an IT worker (I work on computers) and the company I work for sent us all home a week ago (work from home program). At first I thought this was going to be great. I quickly found out how stair crazy a person can get when they are stuck at home. I know this will eventually pass, but wanted to thank you all for posting each day, giving me something to look foward to after a long day (not at the office)! Thanks again.
So...cows born on your ranch....bread on your ranch....moved in your trailer (taxes paid) with your truck (taxes paid) and now you have to pay taxes on a critter that you have been raising yourself...to process for your own store...that you charge sales tax....so I guess I'm wondering the justification for the "inspectors cut"....seems wrong...please explain what the fee is and where it goes?
It Goes to The Queen of course, she owns all of No. America, Africa, Australia, New Zealand and many more . She owns everything of "any" value on or in all those lands, check it out !
Lovin the daily blogs. I sure appreciate the calm voice after 10 hours of people looking for t.p. Keep up the good work and if you need to miss a day here and again that's ok your health and family health should come 1st.
donald linskie Yes I felt little sad about the pigs too. But that’s what you raised them for. I am surprised that when we raised beef and pork, our children didn’t raise a fuss when their time came. I guess when you get lots older, some parts of life , feels a little harder. But I still love my 🐂 🐖 🐓 and 🥦🥬🥒🧄🍆🌶
@@RuthJones-iz1ve i agree however I am really against letting them naming of them unless that one named gets to live out its life on the ranch, but that's their choice. stay safe and healthy.
Our sales have been shut down here in Oklahoma. Thanks for making these videos. I’m 24 and just took over 1300 acres and just shy of 200 cows. All help is greatly appreciated!
Mike thank you for not making any apologies or sugar-coating taking the steers to be processed. It is what it is. Nothing like a nice juicy steak on the grill!
My family raised beef steers from the time I was a baby till I was about 20. We would have 1-4 at a time since we only had about 2.5 acres and my dad worked fulltime and traveled a lot. The calves were just a few days old when we got them. My favorite part was making up the bottle and feeding the calves. Hardest part, of course, was when they were taken for slaughter, but I really enjoyed the delicious beef!!! This is where my love for cows started and why my half bath is all decorated with cows! Oh, really enjoying the daily vlogs!!!!
I can see how your profits get chipped away- meaning you have to have a Brand inspector out to tell you that your cows are your cows! Everything is so over regulated! In some areas it's necessary. In others it's just someone taking money out of your pocket! I really enjoy your Daily posts! I know it's a lot of work! So Thankyou very much for helping this crisis we ate all going thru a,little easier
you sound like my husband, he does forget things like the tag for the car once in a while. I told him when you get it go out and put it on the car right away other wise we will forget where we put it. Enjoyed your video thank you
I love great beef and sure wished I lived closer. The sound of that double banging gate it's like music to my ears. I love to learn from your wife too, she is amazing with gardening. Bless you All...

because meat processing plants have been a big spreader of corona virus. Multiple meat processing plants had corona virus outbreaks and had to shut down because of it.

So no that's not fake news cnn msnbc abc cbs or nbc . That's real here in small town SC
I've forgotten to put new stickers on my company's vans a couple times. All commercial vehicles in Florida renew their registration in July which should make it easier but you get sidetracked and it's amazing how easy it is to forget trivial things like that. Fortunately as long as its updated in the state's computers the cops won't give you too much static.
That's the one thing about Michigan that I like. We have permanent trailer plates, so no buying new tabs every year. Just have to buy new stickers for the vehicles, which can cost an arm & a leg, on their own.
If you lived in Oklahoma the butcher would come to you slater the steers and 1/4 them right there I believe it makes the meat so much better they never get worked or stressed over being moved

Guys, TEFF GRASS is the key to huge gains on steers.. Trust me.. Mix that with BMR Sudan grass and Triticale and say goodbye to buying feed. Then you can sale at value added prices for grass fed beef 🥩 and spring calving on Teff, and chicory, and a new/old grass called sainfoin will almost guarantee 600lbs at wean.

With a food shortage why would a state even consider shutting down a processing facility? Thats crazy
