    All shuttles to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake originate from the Lake Louise Park & Ride at the Lake Louise Ski Area except for the Alpine Start shuttle to Moraine Lake which originates at the Lake Louise Lakeshore parking lot on Lake Louise Drive.

    *** 2023 Update *** for anyone going to Moraine, it's soo busy, the parking lot is now closed permanently. Only option to get there now is by shuttle, tour operators and taxi cab which oddly was not mentioned in this video as other options.

      oh damn
      i didn’t know that. i was there a year ago and the parking lot was open.
      i didn’t mention other options cause i didn’t use those options. i personally had experience with the Shuttle so i felt confident about talking about it. but taxis or tours would be good alternatives

      Yeah, the shuttle charges you $90 per person, but takes you to both the lakes.

    Baby being an early bird just cracked me up! At 3am I am in Rem sleep and at 5am I am still trying to make myself get up. That is when I would start setting my ⏰️ every 10 minutes 😆 🤣

      someone’s showed me a picture of them visiting in the winter and it was iced/snowed over. if you want to see the natural polar teal blue of the water, you’ll probably deal with a lot of people. take my advice and use the Park n Ride!

    Hey Erik - great video! Thanks. We’re visiting Banff in late June, 2024 and we also have a teardrop. Any recommendations of places to camp in our teardrop while we’re visiting Lake Louise (specifically) or Banff (in general)?

      hello!
      yes, if you use iOverlander- you’ll find lots of spots around there. i don’t remember the exact name- but i slept in the old parking lot for the Park-N-Ride. lots of travelers did. it was safe and free. it was near the town of Lake Louis

      @@EscapingNormalLife I have a few questions if that's cool. If I park at the Lake Louise Lakeshore parking lot, I'm basically there, right? Haha. And I'm a little confused with booking a shuttle to Moraine Lake, is there a high chance to get a ticket the day of if I go on a weekday?

    • @EscapingNormalLife
      @EscapingNormalLife  Рік тому +1

      @@SidMascardo hi
      yes. when you park at Lake Louise, you are basically at the lake. it’s a small walk down to the shore. just follow the crowd :)
      for Lake Moraine - don’t even attempt to drive your own car. the parking lot is so small, it’s full at like 4 or 4:30 in the morning. and once it’s full, they stop allowing cars to even drive down the road. it’s kind of a long road from the main drive to Lake Moraine. you’d be upset with yourself if you drove all the way over there and there wasn’t even a place to park. if you’re considering Lake Moraine at all- just do the shuttle service. it’s the only way to get down there. plus, Lake Moraine was more gorgeous than Lake Louise was in my personal opinion. so you’ll definitely want to go there. the bus system takes you to both lakes- so it’s really the best way to enjoy them both
      oh- and i’m not too sure about grabbing a bus ticket the same day. i did mine a few days in advance. maybe start to look online now, for tickets for the following day of today to get an idea of same day bookings or next day bookings are a good option. i HIGHLY suggest you do the lakes early to enjoy them without the crowds - so that would be another good reason to get your shuttle tickets more advance. so you can grab early tickets

    Great Vid. Thanks! I'm curious though...after we get to 1 of the 2 lakes, we want to hike for several hours (and maybe visit a tea house) and then catch the Park and Ride back to Banff later in the day. Do you know if we will have enough time to get in some good hiking or do we have to hop-off/hop back on the bus on their schedule? Thanks much!

    • @EscapingNormalLife
      @EscapingNormalLife  Рік тому +1

      oh no- you scan absolutely do your own schedule. i took the bus in the morning to Moraine- hiked for a few hours. then took the bus over to Louise for a few hours. i’m pretty sure you could take a transport bus between the 2 lakes as much as you want. but once you take the bus back to the visitor center, that’s it.

      What is my best chance to visit Moraine Lake and Lake Louise early August? We will be staying at the Two Jack Main Campground, we have a car, but don’t mind using the ParkNride (family of four - two adults and two kids). Once we get to the ParkNride we buy the tickets for the shuttle there or we must get hold of tickets in advance and if we can’t get hold of tickets online there is no point to go to the ParkNride? Tnx

    Great video. Is it possible to sleep in teardrop at Lake Louise parking lot?

    • @EscapingNormalLife
      @EscapingNormalLife  Рік тому +2

      i don’t believe they would allow overnight parking at the parking lot. the area is highly busy with guards moving the traffic through. i slept every night at an old abandoned parking lot near there though. and it was VERY popular with RV’s, teardrops, tent campers, Vans, etc. i apologize- i don’t remember the name of the exact spot. and i can’t seem to find it quickly on iOverlander. however- there are a few places mapped out for dispersed camping on iOverlander in that area.

      More changes this year (2024). Parking is up $32 so shuttle is cheaper. Video says it’s $11, it’s really $8 for adults and a $3 booking fee, but you only pay the booking fee once. If you book for 4 people, there is only 1 booking fee. Under 18 are free and over 65, half price. So pretty reasonable. Also this season there is construction on the road up to Lake Louise so that could cause delays. There is also an early shuttle now at 4 and 5 am to Moriane Lake to catch the sunrise.
