Is there any way to get there after Thanksgiving?

The road sits across an avalanche path once there is enough snow hence the closure! The only way would be to walk or bike in before the snowfall, or cross country ski after - it would be completely at your own risk though and I would not advise it

    Hi Caitlin,
I'm traveling from Costa Rica to Banff in early October this year, and this is a very informative video. Thank you!
My plan is to drive to Banff, and I have a question: If I buy shuttle/bus tickets to Moraine Lake in advance, will I have a reserved parking spot?
One additional question, Do you think it's worth visiting Jasper as well? I was considering the Columbia Icefield experience.
    Thank you!

Shuttle tickets do not come with any reserved parking. If you go with the first option they will pick you up in Banff so you can leave your car at your hotel. The second option leaves from lake Louise summer gondola which should have plenty of parking, just not guaranteed!
Also, yes Jasper is amazing! However there are currently wildfires in the area which have affected Jasper so I would wait until closer to make any decisions about Jasper.

I'm planning to visit in the middle of September, and this was very informative. Thank you so much. I do have a few questions. I do not have a car and I'm not planning to rent one due to high prices. Can you please share with me how to commute to the must-see places in Banff National Park without a car? Also, I'm looking for a budget trip. Can you suggest a hotel with a good price/quality rate to stay at? Thank u in advance.

Hi! I would recommend checking out my website Caitlinlaurent.com. I have posts on budget travel in Banff as well as car free recommendations. I also have UA-cam videos for both topics too! Check those out and let me know if you have any more questions :)
