He used to perform in a bar every week in Woodland Hills, California called the Pickwick Pub. It became the hip thing to do-- go watch him play and the place was always packed with huge overcrowding of young people standing shoulder to shoulder throughout-- you couldn't move. A fire marshall's nightmare. He had a huge fishbowl for tip jar and passed it around. People put money in for every song he sang. People would yell out requests and he would play whatever was screamed the loudest... I have no idea how he knew how to play each song he heard and play it and sing it well? How did he know all the lyrics? People would always scream for him to play American Pie, but he'd refuse unless somebody put in a $20! The world has changed and doesn't seem quite as fun.
When you are eternally young inside, age is but a number. This concert was so much fun. You did a wonderful job of recording it. Many thanks❤️🤍💙👍🏼🙏

Great fun watching this. Great to see so many happy comments. Being part of the tour for the last four years I can tell you that we truly are all, Happy Together!
The song's name is "The Rain, the Park, and other things." I'm wondering why they didn't title it "The Flower Girl." I have no doubt that record stores all across the country had to tell this to people who came in asking for the song "the Flower Girl."
@@maryk446 It was, in fact, originally called "The Flower Girl." An MGM executive made them change the title, fearing that listeners would confuse it with another hit of the time, Scott McKenzie's "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)."
I could listen to this song 100 times in a row, and then 100 times more. One of the most beautiful, inspired tunes in music history. The fact the Cowsills are still rocking it live in 2023 is proof of a beneficent God.
If there has ever been a band that epitomized a golden era of American music, it's the Cowsills. I'm glad that some of them are still with us and out on the road!
They are simply amazing and just ageless! They've brought so much happiness, and pure joy, to so many over these many decades, and one can't help but smile, sometimes through nostalgic tears, at the wonderfully sweet memories they evoke every time they perform these iconic, incomparable hits. I'm so hoping that John, if the Beach Boys will allow him, to someday join them for a couple of shows. I was just crazy for both him, and Barry (who is truly missed), as a young teen back in the day. Can we please get these guys into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame already?!!

I attended the concert on August 3rd in Rochester NY and all I can say is that I am so happy to have lived in the 60’s. What a great night of some great music, Little Anthony at 82 was great. My thoughts go out to Mark Volman of the Turtles. Hope he will get better. Hope to see the Happy Together Tour next year.
