Okay, you've got me rethinking these kits, I originally shied away from them because they're plastic. But with the aging touches you've added they look absolutely authentic, and I love the minute details! I'm especially impressed with the aging of the the bathtub fixtures, I've gotta learn that!

These little Chrysenbaun kits are super easy and I knew you'd have no problems putting it together. One thing about these kits is that they're resilient, look authentic, and lend themselves well to kit bashing! There are actually 2 vintage magazines showing how to take various Chrysenbaun kits and "bash" them into unique pieces that aren't available as ready made kits. They really great pieces and someone who enjoys reading the suggestions sheet would love these kits. LoL on another note, I personally don't think your nails are too long ❤️☺️

@@littlegretchensworkshop7665 my boys and daughters in law think it's hilarious that I consider speed limit signs merely suggestions 🤷♀️ When I'm putting something together like a piece of furniture or large toys when the boys were younger I had to keep those I suggestion sheets close by for the pics... I'm a visual learner. But when it comes to crafts and kits I don't use them except as a reference because I've noticed that sometimes the instructions are WRONG! LOL 😂
I really loved this make, you did a great job. The metal looks so much better aged than silver, and the wood too. I always look at instructions for finishing as suggestions rather than law! I have been using a wash of paint and water to age, but I think I will give your alcohol mix a try, it sounds very logical!
Thank You! Yes KIM if you like water and paint, you WILL LOVE THE ALCOHOL and paint mix! It DRIES REALLY QUICK AND LEAVES what looks like water stains or rings.

Kits are so much fun! I hate watching paint and glue dry, but watching crackle medium just makes me happy. You had me giggling with the ring around the drain...all I could think of was that commercial from ages ago for a product that tackled ring around the tub LOL (I'm probably dating myself here!) Thank you, as always, for such good ideas for customizing mass-made pieces.

It's So crazy to me how "Back My Day" Cracked , peeling or chipped paint would have been something to be ashamed of and somehow now it's a desired LOOK (Distressed,AGED, Shabby Chic)! LOLOLOL! Yes, I remember the commercial about the bathtub ring! LOLOOL! My True LOVE in MINIATURES and DOLLHOUSES is in sharing how to Renovate ,Restore or Customize mass produced things! What a darling kit! You styled it perfectly! I have an old claw foot tub in my real house and the drain and fixtures look just the way you painted yours! I've never tried a kit, it seems very intimidating. I'm certain I would be spending a lot of time on the floor crawling around under the table for dropped mini pieces 😳 I already do this without a kit, so...😂😍✨
Oh Wow thank you! That is so AWESOME ! I wanted to Restore an old house and add VINTAGE FIXTURES! My Grandmother's house had a claw foot tub! I didn't appreciate how wonderful it WAS! Although I do remember how wonderful it looked and felt really Smooth.... kinda of luxurious (PORCELAIN). I painted it based on that memory of her tub! That really amazes to hear you confirm, my memory was accurate! I truly had a time with the tiny pieces but I am pleased with the outcome ☺️❤️ Thank you for being here!!!!

I was just about to comment about not throwing away the frames from the kit when you said the same thing lol. Great minds think alike. I really like those chrysnbon kits but they are out of my reach pricewise, so at least I can get to enjoy watching my favourite crafters when they put one together. How cool that one of your very generous dolls sent you one! Lucky lady...ps love the nail colour!
I feel you on the Cost of those kits! Daddy used to buy them in the 70's and as a child they were expensive, NOW Even with Adult $$ they are STILL EXPENSIVE! I am Always grateful for the kind generosity of My Precious DOLLS! Everyone is so sweet to Me! 🥰 Thank You about Nail color! Hues of Purple 💜 are My Favorite!

Hi miss Gretchen! Thank you for the video. I saw this kit a while ago, and was apprehensive about it. I got a cabinet kit from them too and I had a lot of fun doing it and I love it. But this bathroom wasn't photographed well of the website, so I was worried it wouldn't be nice. Oh my gosh! You did yours beautifully ❤❤. Once again, you give me confidence! I love that the pieces are of good size and I like the luster on the tub. Very cute. Ill definitely be ordering this kit soon. Can't wait to see whats next! 😊

What a great bathroom set! You were right to put silver on the wrought iron to age it. I have wrought iron cages over my windows & doors, and last summer I painted all of them black with copper accents. The most weathered ones were turning silver where the black coating had worn away. ❤

I made that kit too, I put the chain & handle in a safe place so I wouldn't lose it.... 4 months later,I'm still looking😂😀

Try lightly sanding your plastic before paint it will hold the paint better. You probably know this but just in case. This set is too cute I’m hoping I can find a 1/12 scale cast iron tub. Keep those plastic frame holders you can make a bunch of stuff from those like handles for furniture or faucets. I watched Bentley minis if you want to reference how too I raided my sons models 🤣🤣😂😂you always do such a beautiful job thank you for sharing💕💕💕
Hey Grace!!! Thank you for sharing the sanding tip! I don't really do plastic kits often ,so i never thought of sanding it! I''ll remember that the next time thanks! A cast iron tub would be NICE! I almost painted this TUB black or dark on the outside! Yes Ara Bentley has a Wonderful channel and so many Great videos! I must admit when my grandsons come over to visit I glean the room when they leave for items they leave to see if it can be used in my projects! LOLOL! Like tiny tires, legos etc! Lololol! i figure they will never miss it! Thank you for watching!
I have painted the outside of the Chrysnbon tub, one navy blue with silver feet and one green with bronze feet. I will be adding two front legs to one sink when I finally install it. Also added a decal on the side of the green tub...like you said, it needed something.
YES RITA!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! ALL those wonderful DETAILS!! I honestly considered doing the outside of the tub that same brown, black and copper mix that i used on the faucets! I still might because it looks so plain! I love the idea of the NAVY/silver and Green/Bronze feet! I love hearing this! So many people are afraid to venture past what the picture shows! HI JANET! LOLOLOLOL!!! No, I was running into lack of space trying to house ALL the DOLLS and So I needed more space. So I started what i thought would be a quick renovation to make more room and I realized just like in REAL LIFE.....renovations are NEVER QUICK OR SIMPLE! So I suspended operations at the ROOMING HOUSE until i get the Dress Shop Dollhouse "habitable" to move some of the DOLLS there! We will resume with the ROOMING HOUSE DOLLHOUSE soon!
