Great review, thank you!
Man, Uni-T hit two home runs with the 139C and the 61E in the ~$50 range. Still very happy with my B&K, safety and leads are top notch.
Very nicely done. I ordered one for simple things like car and motorcycle repair and house repairs. It is an affordable option for my needs, Thanks for the over view.
Thank you for the feedback.
Great review Goran! A detailed and truly unbiased review, which is more than I can say for most other multimeter review channels on UA-cam....

Very nice review. Thank you.
excellent! great review!!! thanks for doing this video...
Thank you for the feedback!
Awesome review, i think I'll buy this meter
Thanks!
Good review. Recently bought this multimeter. I like everything except short interruption in the beep-sound in circuit on-off mode. In my device is the same. It seems to me that this is due to the use of protective elements in the device (for example varistors), which create additional capacitance in the measurement circuit.
Very good review! Considering buying it.
Marcelino Lay Thank you!
super good review i think i,ll buy this multimeter thanks
Naresh Dhupia Thank you!
Very good review... Thanks... :)
Excellent review, the 139c looks like a very good multimeter for the price.
Thank you!
Very well presented, a excellent review.

Great review, thank you.
Thank you for watching.
Great tip to add a capacitor to measure frequency of non zero-crossing signals, by using a cheap 104 ceramic capacitor I can now measure the frequency output by ne555 with this meter, all the way down to about 0.8 Hz!
Thanks. I'm glad that you found the video useful.
Pound for Pound best meter ever!
I have a UNI-T 210E meter it is very accurate and I am very happy with it, I believe UNI-T are a company with good design and quality standards.. (Big Clive loves his)..
You have made a excellent review........... i am very happy see this review........thank you for your review......
Thank you.
Great review , I'm definitely buying this thing , I mean for the price this is a bargain
Thank you!
a decent review. a good budget meter.
Thank you!
Wow what a good video thank you

Good review.
Thank you.
MUCHAS GRACIAS.
Muchas gracias bien explicado,, BUEN VIDEO. YA LO COMPRE.
Thank you! | ¡Gracias!
Nice review. Seems NCV is working well.
Thank you.
Got me one 4 years ago. Best meter I ever had for that price range. Nowadays the rotary is kinda worn out and sometimes jumps to the next item in the menu if not rotated properly. Would have liked to know how to replace it but for the price I'd just get another one. FYI you can mod it and get 9999 Counts still keeping the precision ;)
Thank you for the info. I'll investigate that possibility.
I love Vodka ,respect from Romania
Vodka is good, but Macedonians rather like ракија or вино! :-)
Thank you for the feedback!
I have this meter. It's amazing for its price, construction and features. The board hasn't been cheaped out and the inline fuse is easily replaceable.
*Update 10/2018* - The mV range has crapped out on me. It's measuring in the negatives and I can't get a proper reading out of it. Every other switch works though, for now. :\
@@Jayeeyee How long have you had the meter for? And how much do you use it? Did you empty one set of AA's with it yet?
@@DanHaiduc I did not get my money's worth with this one. I haven't even emptied 1/2 of the AA's either. I bought this meter for hobbyist purposes, checking battery voltage, checking continuity between circuits, checking capacitors, etc. I don't think I've used the meter more than 50 times.
@@Jayeeyee Aww, too bad. I think the mV range is quite noisy; I usually use the V range. Do you remember what you were doing when it broke?
Great I just ordered UT139S model.
Excelent
Thank you.
Thanks russian guy... this is a real review
H G Actually I'm from Macedonia :-). Thank you!

GOOD!
Thanks!
bad plastic and PCB quality but accuracy almost perfect for this price range. especially I shocked capasitance testing results. Thanks for review.
Thank you for the feedback.
I used an oscilloscope to determine the source of the problem. At the input of the main chip, when the probes close, the voltage drops almost to zero (0.025V threshold on the built-in comparator). But approximately 300-400 ms at the input there is an impulse with a falling front approximately 50 ms (as after the RC circuit). The comparator reads this pulse and determines for a short time the breaking of the circuit. I removed all the capacitors from this circuit, but this pulse again occurs and the main chip itself issues it. That is, the input for a short moment becomes an output. I assume that this is a bug in the firmware of the embedded microcontroller.
Hi Марк. I encourage you to create a video with a schematics of the multimeter input circuit and the measurements you performed so you can better clarify and explain us your findings.
I got a preownef preused one at a club auction. Absolute bargain no leads but it powers up OK
Ótimo gostei de mais, pena que não tem tradução, um Sauve pro Brasil.
Thank you!
Good review! Thanks.
The duty circle ratio measurement needs to be crossing zero? Is TTL compatible?
My quick and simple answer would be to use a capacitor (~100nF) in series with the input, to avoid false duty cycle measurement readings. I made a quick test with the TTL-output of my signal generator and it appears that it is not compatible - without a capacitor in series with the input the displayed values are 0%, regardless of the actual duty cycle value.
Great review. Any idea what current clamp works with this multimeter?
Thank you.
The current clamp that I used in the review is Mastech MS3302 AC Current Transducer with 10mv/A and 1mV/A output levels.
Nice review! May i know what ac clamp probe did you use?
Thank you. The current clamp is Mastech MS3302 AC Current Transducer with 10mv/A and 1mV/A output levels.
Fantastic review. Question - is there any way to make the screen backlighting stay on instead of automatically switching off after only 15 seconds?
Thinking of buying this multimeter as an upgrade from my cheap Mastech unit, but since I work in dim environments I need that backlighting to stay on properly.
Thank you!
Regarding the backlight: Yes, there is a way to change the time how long it stays on, if you are prepared to reprogram the EEPROM of the multimeter. Here you can find more details about that:

Hi, do you think the UT139C is safe enough to use for mains?
I'm not sure if there is a simple answer on this question, as that highly depends on your needs and skills. If you are a professional electrician working mainly with high-energy / mains circuits you'll probably need a different multimeter dedicated and certified for that purpose. If you are a skilled electronics hobbyist who needs to work/check the mains voltages just occasionally (and you are familiar and you follow all the usual safety precautions when using multimeters for measuring in mains powered circuits), then I don't see any particular issues with this model. Still, take this as a general advice.
Goran,, Please make a review on 139E, tnx
I don't have that model. If some of the stores sends it to me for a review, I would probably make one, although I believe that for the most part it would be a repetition of this video (both models are very similar).
Is the 4mm Banana Plug right for it?
I want to buy multimeter in these price range, should I pick this one?
Where can I obtain the current clamp for this baby?
Not sure...I haven't searched for the availability of the optional UNI-T accessories. You can try searching on eBay or Amazon.
The current clamp that I use in the video is Mastech MS3302 AC Current Transducer with 10mV/A and 1mV/A output levels and it is available on dx.com.
If You need a Meter For Diode Check nd NCV then There is no comparison with this meter. Nd Regarding the Auto power off it can be Disabled by holding the Hold/backlight button in off position nd then Turning the meter on.
Anyone can tell me if this multimeter has audible diode sound?
But where to buy the clamp probe for it ??
The current clamp that I use in the video is Mastech MS3302 AC Current Transducer with 10mV/A and 1mV/A output levels and it is available on Amazon, Aliexpress, Banggood....
Anyone know about using the V.F.C. ????
Very useful review. I want to buy 3 meters like this to use in car audio. Can you please tell me how good it measures AC voltage below 45hz (20-30hz). I seen in this video that you tested above 1khz, but you didnt test below 45hz. I await your answer, thank you very much.
Hi,
I just did a quick test for sine-wave signals below 45Hz and I can say that between 10Hz and 45Hz the reading was also stable and accurate. Below 8Hz the readings started to fluctuate and were inaccurate and below 1Hz the auto-range switching got confused (it started constantly switching the ranges due to the relatively slow voltage changes on the input).
To conclude, it looks like that you can also use it without problems for AC from 10Hz and above. Cheers!
Thank you very much. I apreciate the help!
punya saya un139c kalau kabel merah di tancepkan kok hz nya terbaca langsung, padahal belom saya colokin
Where to buy the current clamp
I've answered this question several times in the comments. The current clamp is Mastech MS3302 AC Current Transducer with 10mV/A and 1mV/A output levels and it should be available on Amazon and Aliexpress.
Can you please help me with the optional current clamp ? Please , inform me for the model and or where i can buy one . thank you
The current clamp is Mastech MS3302. It is available on Amazon and Aliexpress. Note that it is for AC current only.
Thank you
What about the hold, light and range buttons? Otherwise very good ;)
Thank you. There is a short demonstration of the LIGHT function on 4:47. I did not test/demonstrate the RANGE and HOLD functions because I considered that to be of less importance or trivial to be included in the video.
The usage would be (as on most of the other meters):
RANGE button: Press it shortly to switch to the Manual Mode and cycle through all the ranges (to select a particular range); press it longer than 2 seconds to return to the Auto-Range Mode. (This applies only to voltage, current and resistance measurement functions - The range of capacitance or frequency measurements for example cannot be manually selected);
HOLD button: Press it shortly to hold the displayed value and press it again to return to the normal measurement mode.
Great in-depth reply! Thanks!
Goran Dzambazov Hi again. I was thinking: Can you change the range manually with the range button when min-maxing? In the video you said it's stuck at the range when starting, but does that button have any effect? Thanks.
I just made a quick test and it appears that pressing the RANGE button at any time after you have activated MAX/MIN or REL functions puts the meter back to the normal operational mode (with the AUTO-RANGE function turned off), it turns off the MAX/MIN or REL functions and it resets all the memorized MIN, MAX, MAX-MIN or REL values. So, it does not unlock the selected range by the AUTO-RANGE function in the way that I suppose you would like (to display the MAX value properly, for example).
Alright. Thanks again ;)
HELLO, WHAT IS THE REASON I COULD NOT MEASURE THE OSCILLATOR IN Hz STAGE WITH UT139C MODEL MULTIMETER? UT61C MODEL CAN READ 32.768 FREQUENCY VALUES. IS IT POSSIBLE TO MEASURE Tuning-fork crystal used in a modern quartz watch WITH UT139C?
The possible reasons could be a very small amplitude of the oscillations or a non zero-crossing signal at the point where you do the measurement.
thanks@@GoranDzambazov
Hi When setting the meter on the UH and applying a high voltage 220 volt what happens and if it is damaged
Hi, I'm not sure what exactly do you mean with UH. However, there are two fuses for protection for the current measurements: 10A fast acting fuse on the A terminal and and 0.6A fast acting fuse for the µA/mA terminal.
There is also overload protection with a 600V PTC for all other measurements that use the VΩHz°C and the COM terminals.
oh!!!sorry (uh = ohm)
This is what I found in the manual under the Resistance Measurement section: "No input higher than DC 60V and AC 30 V is allowed." However, there is also this to be read: "Overload protection: 600V-PTC".
I haven't tried connecting the probes on 220 V while the meter is on resistance measurement range, so I don't know if a damage would occur.
Is it any good for domestic electrician? Or would you recommend me any diffrent model of Uni-t? Thanks in advance
This is the only UNI-T multimeter that I have tested and I own, so I cannot give you an advice for the other UNI-T models. It's a general purpose multimeter that can be used for testing and repairs in electronics or mains powered home appliances, so if you have the knowledge and the qualifications for that, I don't have more to add than what was already shown in the video. If you would use it frequently, perhaps you can consider buying higher quality test leads.
You can surely review the specs of their other models on the UNI-T web-site and possibly find a meter which is best suited for your needs.
@@GoranDzambazov Thanks mate. Appreciate your help 👍
What kind of alligator(crocodile) clips are you using? And where can i buy one , at 12:46
I have those from a different multimeter set bought long time ago. But you can search online e.g. on dx.com, eBay or other stores and I'm sure you will find what you need.
@@GoranDzambazov Thank you!
Are good multimeter ? Thanks
The best answer that I can give you is to watch the video in full to find out if this meter is appropriate for your needs.
Od makedonija si?
Hello.
Brother, the website said that it could measure 1000 ℃. But you said it could measure only 230 ℃. I am being confused. will it measure temperature if I have high range Thermocouple?
The range specified in the operating manual is from -40 to 1000°C. However, there is also a remark that the (provided) point type K thermocouple is only applicable for measurement of temperatures under 230°C. So, you need a different thermocouple for the full range.
@@GoranDzambazov I got it.Thank you.

Who is Demeter, camarad ?
What's the connection between the meter and Demeter? Please elaborate your question.
ini ada protek nya nggak kalau lupa di posisi pengukuran rensiko
I am not sure exactly what is your comment or question. This multimeter features the usual overload protection (fuses and PTCs). You can check the manual for more details.
