hii, I'm melon and I'm reacting to dragon ball z abridged for the first time. This is my DBZ abridged episode 38 reaction.
DBZ was my first anime and holds and special place in my heart:) I already really love this abridged series and am so excited to go on my DBZ abridged reaction journey.

18 is voiced by Amber lee connors. This was one of her first roles before she popped off as a big time VA
Not just that, but she voices Dercori, one of the villians in the English version of Dragon Ball Super. It is nice to see that a DBZA actor made it into an official Toei production.
Shes pretty cool.
She's also Bulma's mom here in Abridged
She does SUCH a good job as 18, like holy cow it's seriously great.

Vegeta did find out before the airplane was blown up. That's why Trunks got angry. Vegeta just started to care about Bulma and his son after future Trunks was killed by Cell.
I would say that Vegeta started to care more about Trunks after spending 1 year with him inside the hyperbolic time chamber, but I agree the way he started to care about Trunks only became obvious when Cell Kills him in front of Vegeta.
|Still even with Vegeta acting in that tough way and hiding this more sentimental side of him, you can feel that after the two of them leave the hyperbolic time chamber their relationship seems different and Vegeta shows more respect towards his Trunks.
“I don’t give a shit about butterflies!” is one of my favorite lines in the show 🤣🤣🤣
Anyone else catch that shade from Bulma with the "adequate with robotics" line? She basically fangirled over Dr. Wheelo but said Gero was adequate.

well technically there's a heck of a lot of bad blood between Gero and the Brief's family. Back in Dragon Ball there were 2 competing companies with the capsule technology on the market, the ones from Capsule Corporation and the 'Dyno Caps' that were made by the Red Ribbon Army (it's the main reason why they could fund their army) so having Bulma shit on Gero works well because they were sort of stealing all of Capsule Corps tech and re-engineering it to sell to others, undercutting them.
It's why they're the biggest company on the planet now, after Goku destroyed them, no one else could match their research and tech development.
Vegeta’s “I don’t listen to bastards” is a perfect example of what you can expect in season three: drama that punches you in the heart mixed in with all the clever jokes.

I always liked to think that, once he created Android 19, he just programmed 19 to perform the surgery. That would certainly explained why he's Android 20 ... because he came after 19. In other words, 19 already existed when he became an android. So it makes perfect sense that he could have simply programmed 19 to do the job.

That’s actually a pretty strong theory. I did get the feeling that 19 was a bit weird compared with the other androids and that would explain it.

For what I know, Dr. Gero built Android 19 and then he used him to turn into an Android too with the whole take his brain out and put it into that body

Vegeta did find out before the plane scene. Last episode when vegeta made that surprised face was actually what happened in the real anime.

It probably helps that TFS actually took the time to redo the lip flaps instead of forcing the voice actors to time their lines with the Japanese lip flaps. Whenever English lines are delivered in a very unnatural way in an anime dub, that's usually why.
Then you've not seen many English dubs.

The guy who voices Dr Gero is the voice for Cooler for tfs. He also voices Ainz Ooal Gown in Overlord.

Since there is a few people in the comments recommending this by mistake, don't react to Super Android 13 yet. You have to wait until episode 44 because the movie calls back to that episode

I figured it was because they needed him to be holding the remote while in that one shot looking at the Androids but then when they zoomed out they realized that his right hand was the one that was broken but at that point it was too late.
In DBZ Kai it was revealed Android 19 helped Dr. Gero remove his brain out of his body and implanted into the Android 20 modeled after Gero's appearance minus the brain sticking out.

I'm guessing you already seen episode 39, but I consider that particular episode the episode you show to a friend who doesn't know anything about DBZ/DBZA to get them into it.

Loved this. Trust me as it goes on vegetas highs are great, and his lows are low. And in the end, krillin gets even with the entire owned count. I'm not going to spoil it other then to say don't feel too bad. It gets rectified

Hello, just wanted to comment that Episode 38 is after Episode 36 in the playlist
Yo saw this drop when it had just hit 4 minutes before I saw it but I was in mid video so I finished it up now let's goooooo
As for the "what episodes/movies to watch in what order", just do it the way it was meant to: in order of upload. Shouldnt be too bad to go on their channel, click videos and find the chronological order. Its always best to go this route, when watching tfs but also when watching anime. Otherwise certain jokes/stuff will probably be missed. For example, you did watch history of trunks too soon which is why you knew their voices already and that "oh wow, thats their voice, all robotic and stuff? weird"-reaction got cut a bit short because of that. :D
Another great example is the fate series. Watching UBW before stay night also messes up the story telling because of "heavy spoilers".
But I must say I do love your reactions. Ive watched a lot of dbza reactions and I think you may be my favorite reactor. Keep it up :D
Just letting you know that Super Android 13 can be watched anytime after Return of Cooler. I mainly put it where it is in my list just so there could be some breaks between the episodes and the movies.
Also there are references to episode 42 and Return of Cooler in there

I dont think Gero put his brain inside an android body. I think he augmented his original body to the point where he was more android than human, just an assumption though.
