I’m glad I own a few of these pieces! It’s validating that my wardrobe is on track with some basics. I feel like I’m in the minority, but I’m not a fan of black at all! However, I find having a few of these staples in my wardrobe helps even things out. Thanks for the inspiration! 😊
Could not like this video more, black is my happy colour! 🖤 Back home in South América, black is usually reserved for mourning. Since I moved to Ireland, I mostly wear black, navy and neutrals (and I looooove it) and gotta say my mum was a bit in shock when she came over last year during winter, to say the least😂😂😂

I recently acquired a black Elie Tahari blazer that I love. It was a new with tags, hand me down from a friend. One of my favorite designers - tends to really suit my body shape.
Love this! I have 8 out of 10. I would also include black leggings and black dress.
Love this despite never wearing black! But switch out the black for navy and I'd say I'm all over this!

Had a massive wardrobe clear out this weekend & I’m really thinking hard about the decisions I make now when purchasing any new item of clothing/accessory... “Is this classic?” “Will I wear this in a years time?” is what goes through my mind. I’m shopping less frequently & more intentionally. You’re helping me build my capsule wardrobe. Black is ALWAYS my go to, such a classic colour that will go with anything.

Love black basics! I do hope you will do a video on Beige Basics next. I have always felt that a wardrobe has to have a set of accessories and basics in both black and beige in order to work. I love other neutrals, but for me black and beige are the foundation, everything else can build on that.

Hi Emma! Just wanted to send you some love! I just finished uni and started my first proper job. The last few years I've only replaced clothes that were absolutely necessary and most pieces in my wardrobe are 5-10 years old. So now I finally have the chance to build my wardrobe back up to fit my current style your videos are perfect! Especially last week's video was amazing but I love all your staples videos you're doing atm.
On another note: have you ever tried something from the Cologne-based sustainable lable Armed Angels? They are doing DetoxDenim, the most wonderful knits and are about to launch their circular T-shirt (no waste!).

I would definitely add black ballerina flats or a pair of velvet loafers. A bit more elevated than converse trainers for those times you want that look.

I would really love a video on outfits for the Christmas holidays (Christmas night, Christmas office parties, new years eve). It would be cool to have a video from a "minimalist" point of view (meaning using those staples we already have+maybe some new pieces). It would also be great to have it soon so we can prepare with time. I personally hate how those kind of videos always come out the same week as Christmas so there is no time anymore to prepare or buy anything one might need to purchase. Hope you read this. I really look up to your style and draw a lot of inspiration from it :)

Hi Emma! Congratulations on your new home! The black square toed boots here have been haunting me. I can't stop thinking about them. I do have a question about them now that 11 months have passed. Are the boots comfy and are they true to size? I am still eyeballing them but I am worried they won't stand the test of time bc I am not sure whether square toed shoes and boots are coming or going in terms of style. Thank you!
I was shying away from black since we got our little white fur baby, and then I saw the lint brush you use compared to mine which is rubbish. I've ordered the lint brush and a black summer dress from Mango❤️

Hi❤️, love this and last week’s video. The information is the best of the best. Tailoring is the key. As a petite (lean and 5’4), I was wondering your suggestions to add height to the basics. .....length of jackets and advice on oversized items that are so stylish....everything. I have a gem of a black Ralph Lauren ($) blazer, and thank heavens a belt and trim bottoms are in (?). Could you do a video on how to style items and suggestions for your shorter sisters, please? Black is my go-to, but, would love to find navy items to wear under my tweed blazers. Also, you are growing you hair I’ve noticed, and could you share your goal? You are our fashion “god”. I wasn't purposefully growing it but then lockdown happened 🙈 so I have kind of accepted it growing longer and am embracing it - although it needs a colour 🤣 My best suggestion would be to try and find a tailor that you trust and have some pieces tailored to suit your need - especially if they are quality items and will last forever ❤️ otherwise it is finding a petite range/brand that you like and trying some of their pieces 👍

OMG yes I remember that, I'm crossing a road right? And have a grey suede bag? That was quite a few years ago now and yeh my hair was long but it was extensions which, well, 'never again!' that's all I'll say 😂
