Okay, so ACOTAR might not be my favorite series ever, but it does stick with you. I did indeed theme my wedding with "Spring Court meets Night Court" in mind. (But like one other person at my wedding had read the books, haha.)
So while I definitely have my complaints about this series...I obviously understand at least some of the appeal. 😂 I do not know what sorcery Sarah J. Maas wove into these books, but they are something, even with their flaws.
I want a book themed wedding now….. ooh each table is based on a different book!

What will the kids table be like?
I did this at my wedding. We had a book for each table that reflected how we know people. Babysitters club for my childhood friends, a textbook for our university friends, kids books for our family. It was great
Harry Potter for the kids table, Game of thrones for the main table, James Bond for the table nearest the bar, the bible for the table with the people you don't really like but had to invite and Hunger games for the table furthest from the buffet.

My parents had a LOTR wedding when I was little they had their vows inscribed on the rings in the font lol

My wedding wasn't themed on a specific book, but it was a literal fairy tale wedding. My gown was the same pattern as the ball gown from Ever After, I wore wings and silver ear tips, had wedding fairies, etc. It was fantastic.

guys if you are into ACOTAR you HAVE to try Throne of Glass, it’s also by Sarah J Maas and is kinda the same type of book except with a bit more battle than romance (i personally like it way more than ACOTAR)

The book themed party sounds soooo fun. We do book themed dinners as a family but I have been thinking about a renewal of vowels thing and themed tables or events sounds like so much fun.
I have decided this is too fantastic, I am going to have book club parties for my littles with book themes.

Excellent charectars and good spice. Power gets a little op but since you're here for the drama should be a good experience
book one was a rough read for me until the end and then i just couldn’t stop until i was done with all five. i hope you love it!
My wedding was quite literally “subtly Slytherin” and my husband just thought I really liked green and black at the time
My wedding was a Camelot costume theme because out of the 200 guests I knew that if I was too specific there would be confusion on what I meant, especially for the elder generations, so I took it as broad as possible. It was a HUGE hit and everyone dressed up!
If I ever have a wedding Imma ask my partner if we can make it Folk Of The Air themed.
We're putting salt in the food so no fae can pull shenanigans.

I went in blind on reccomendations and as someone who had only read one remotely spicy series it was certainly out of my comfort zone.
I personally loved the book but I realize everyone has different spice levels lol if you like fantasy I recommend caraval almost no spice

If I ever get married, I'm definitely doing Once Upon a Broken Heart as my theme, since the overall book aesthetic is fairytale vibes! Light fairytale vibes with dark royalty core academia. I can't resist.
I was thinking a bit about having a Princess Bride themed wedding once. I wasn’t able to get it but just being married to my husband is even better than any theme.
My friend had a Halloween themed wedding. It was fun planning it with her.
holy fuck just got a baller mental image: Roadside Picnic themed wedding. Host it in an out of the way town in the Rockies or prairies, and have the dress code be that you have to cosplay appropriately for the setting. Like 90% of folks are gonna just put on a lab coat and call it a day, but at least a handful will dress up like a stalker and it'd be great. The couple getting married, along with the people doing the ceremony, are dressed up in different versions of the special suit used in The Zone. The cake is modeled off of a full empty, using a tensegrity table type structure between the layers to sell the illusion, and covering up much of it with the blue stuff in the middle. Rent out a bar for the reception, and have them also sell fried sausages with ketchup and mustard.
A wedding or party based off of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. videogame franchise or Into The Radius would be so fucking cool too, as those are loosely based on Roadside Picnic. The STALKER wedding would honestly be way easier to pull off because of the large array of factions, gear, and characters lol

Cool! I didn’t know book weddings where not just a my mom thing, My mom had a Harry Potter wedding and she hand made EVERYTHING, she made wands outta hot glue and pencils, golden snitches out of Ferrero Shay chocolates (not sure about spelling) hand painted a ton of jars with head wig on them it was so fun!
My ex was obsessed with Acotar to the point where I did start trying to read the books. I have a hard time actually reading romance between straight people because I can’t relate. Anyways we were supposed to go to a ball based off it. I wasn’t really excited about the books and didn’t even finish the first, needless to say I don’t really understand the hype. And just like I didn’t finish the book, he didn’t finish our relationship before hoping into a new one.
But I did enjoy the concept of high faes, if anyone has some really good lgbt books sorta like it, I would love some recommendations 💕
I mean there's a dark and hollow star by ashley shuttleworth. It is also based around faes and slightly mythology, even though it plays in the real world for most parts. I've never read Acotar myself but everything i've heard so far kind of reminds me of A dark and hollow star. And the main characters are queer 😅

So I found Acotar after reading her other series throne of glass while in middle and highschool. I WAS OBSESSED I AM OBSESSED. I moved schools while in the middle of the 4th book and at the new school the first thing I asked was to checkout the library.
I am literally in 9th grade and ive already decided my wedding is either going to be Harry Potter theme or hunger games themed, and I'm leading towards the hunger games bc I want to try and do Katniss's burning wedding dress 😃
If I had to pick a story theme for my wedding (hypothetical, not married nor engaged) I'd go with Cinderella so our first dance could be to "Ten Minutes Ago".

Would I do a book-themed wedding? Maybe. I don't even know if there would be enough people there to make it worthwhile. I don't want my biological father's side at any wedding of mine, that's for sure. (My bio-dad's side is narc central. Yuck!)
I'm old enough, at this point, to feel like a basic outdoor wedding and reception (barring any inclement weather) is gonna end up being just the ticket. Especially if it's a really nice park with lots of trees for shade, and picnic tables for some sort of BBQ or potluck scenario.
Of course, this is all ephemeral rn. I just know that I definitely want something nice and hearty for the wedding reception. Heck -- people could bring buckets of chicken from KFC and I wouldn't mind at all. As long as I'm marrying the guy I know is right for me, and my true family is with me. 😊

Ooooh. I can totally relate. Fantastic visual cues that would be perfect for an event like a wedding with the different courts, but the storyline as such, was ok but not worth the hype. Just read through the series over Christmas, so it’s still very fresh in mind.

I feel the same way - more the second book where he kidnaps her and forces her into dangerous situations to 'test' her - and I was supposed to prefer him to Tamlin? In the first book I assumed he was 'the hot villain who will later become a reluctant ally' so my standards for him were lower. 😂

ACOTAR is definitely one of those books/series that if you don’t pick it up at the right time you’ll be normal regarding the book.
It was the series that got me back into reading while with others it put them in a slump.

A court of throns are roses has almost no plot, and little plot twists. i was not a big fan. i dont understand why people hype it up so much.
I much prefer her other series Throne of Glass, because all the plot twists, Perfect(for me at least).
