  • This solo episode takes its share of sharp left turns. One minute we are in the land of animal disasters, poopville, childhood pet trauma and dog wheelchairs. The next we are dancing at Paris Hiltons birthday party like we’re back in da club in the early 00’s listening to Young Folks and swooning over Ryan Phillipe. Oh how we Lol’d.

When Brene Brown found her dog pulling food out of the trashcan, she scolded the dog by saying "Bad girl!" Then Brene's son Charlie came around the corner and said "Daisy is a good girl who made a bad choice. We love her! We just don't love her choices." Brene: "Daisy is a dog." [Who presumably can't feel shame?] Charlie: "Oh, I see. Daisy is a good dog who made a bad choice." From her book Daring Greatly, shame vs. guilt. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have BB as a guest?

We had a 16.5 year old yorkie that I had to care for in old age. He was getting chiropractor treatments and acupuncture. I was like “this dog is getting better healthcare than I do, lol” He had to also wear diapers towards the end so I know what that is like. Unfortunately he had a massive seizure in Oct last year and we had to make the tough decision to say goodbye. He will forever be missed. It does take a very loving person to nurture an older dog. Hopefully if you all find the right food and stick with it, some of the bowel issues will resolve. We used canidae brand, had it delivered via Amazon. Chewy is a good website too.

My friend’s GSD seemed to do better with DM with regular exercise (short walks often, being outdoors) and with non slippery floors. Though he was continent until the end. And Sarah is right with the food, you absolutely cannot change it abruptly or often. Raw-ish food makes for less poo but them being older they would likely benefit from cooked meat like organic chicken or white fish. I’m sure you can find an organic, easy-to-digest, low fat, low carb/fibre prepackaged meat based food and just order it bi-weekly or so.

Teresa you are SUCH a trooper (truely like Mother Teresa!), but please don’t put your phone by your heart! I used to do that and so did my friend and she was stopped by a doctor at the gym who saw her doing that and was like, you never want to do that please, it’s so bad for your breasts and heart!

    • @CatandMoon

Why exactly is it bad? Curious for myself!

@@CatandMoon my friend said he was seeing a lot of patients with breast cancer who had been carrying their phones around in their bras for years. A lot of mainstream media will say there are no adverse affects, but plenty of studies have been done to show otherwise. “adverse biologic and health effects from long-term exposure to radiofrequency radiation, including DNA damage.” “A big reason there isn’t more research about the health risks of radiofrequency radiation exposure is because the U.S. government stopped funding this research in the 1990s, with the exception of a $30 million rodent study published in 2018 by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences’ National Toxicology Program, which found “clear evidence” of carcinogenicity from cellphone radiation.” - from Berkeley News article: Moskowitz: Cellphone radiation is harmful, but few want to believe it
