I came on UA-cam to let my Father (who is 98 years young) listen to The Honorable Pigmeat Markham! He enjoyed the videos. So many precious memories came back to us. Thank you for posting these videos!
Oh wow! Thank you for watching and commenting! I am glad to know leaving this here on my YT could facilitate beautiful memories for you and your father! ❤️
April 18: Happy birthday Comedian-singer-dancer-actor Dewey "Pigmeat" Markham (1904-1981) Thank you and God bless. Thanks for the upload, Danielle Hall. RIP "Pigmeat." Entertainer.
Gerald Johnson* Thanks for posting your comment . I had no idea when pegmeat passed away. I use to see him at the Howard theater in Washington DC in the 60s. THANKS
The salary line at 0:57 was hilarious. Pigmeat was talked down from making $10 a week to $20 a month 😊 Before that he said, Since you're offering second rate money, you better get 'Clark Gable' or one of them boys. LOL! It was clever quick witted lines like this and the one about "grabbing the digits" at 4:13 made his humor even more uniquely risque. 😊 His slapstick timing and quick moves was an added touch as well. R.I.P. to one of the true legends of comedy.
I discovered ol’ Pig at the little record store on The Circle in Indy, long about 57, 58 years ago. That was some risqué stuff for this farm kid. Loved that little record store, I also got introduced to Muddy Waters, Little Walter, and a whole lot of blues there.
I discovered Pigmeat when I was in Jr. High back in the '60's, having come across his albums in a little record store on the Circle in Indianapolis while going thru the blues records. Man, that was entertainment - along with his ensembles, he had the best delivery.
We had a place in Roxbury called Skippy Whites record store, those were the times , got the records the white stores wouldn't carry and I am a white guy loved the black music 50's to 70's
Grew up on this. Pigmeat, Moms Mabley, Dolemite, Redd Foxx, Cosby, etc. I won’t work f/$10 a week. What about $20 a month? I want U to grab the woman by the digits. I almost died💀🤦🏽♀️. Ok....🤣😉
Oh this is wonderful, thank you so much for introducing this to an old British man lol, this had everything and it was perfectly performed, why is this hidden away? Im a new fan
Hilarious but definitely watered down for TV. If you enjoyed this version, image that the LIVE version w/ a fun crowd was 10Xs better and with lots of roaring laughs and applause breaks! Just listen to the albums! ❤️
I really miss this Comedy. Clean fun, Insinuation all over the place. Adults know what they were talking about. Americans enjoyed this. All Americans. My LOGO? Divided once never again. We are Americans all!
Yo anybody noticed how the manager finessed the dude he could have made $40 month with the $10/wk then the $20 dollars a month. Bruh was stupid as hell
Heard about Mr.Markham always thought I was familiar with his comedy because in the sixties his name was large our black race are so educated back then Buelah and cast Mr. Markham and cast Ms. Mabley and cast all had a formal education and today Times donot what to show how of a intelligent race of people we are.
Everybody and all comedians refers to #RICHARDPRYOR N #BERNIEMACK THEY WAS COOL AF BUT #PIGMEAT PAVED THE WAY.........AND HE WASN'T STEPN N FETCHN....NOR SELLN OUT......🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤ I GREW UP LISTENING TO THIS ....MY BIG BROTHERS USED TO BE LISTENING N I WAS AT THE TOP OF THE STEPS.....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 THEY WERE IN THE BASEMENT.

Exposed to the humor of "PigMeat" in the early 70s, he is great, and pioneer. Now in my 60s, I cannot help but wonder -- radio or [early] TV -- how did they get away with this specific sketch? Glad they did, though.
That idea was cute as fuck...........until you realize these is niggas making do with what they could 80 years ago, they ain't fucking white people with budgets. Watch your mouth. Appreciate what they delivered with what they had it move TF on 👌🏾
Dope describes my rhymes, making all you MCS cold drop like dimes. You know MCSC is back again, and battling me on the microphone is like committing a sin. Scott/MCSC
