It's not as simple as liking one and disliking the other. He didn't want to save his village, he essentially wanted to save the country. His father, mother and brother were killed right in front of him and his father's dying wish was for his son to give every Indian a weapon so they could fight back. He's not stupid, he's carrying out his mission. Same way Bheem is carrying out his mission.

The English NEVER treated Indians this badly. They actually gave them a shit ton of infrastructure that's still used today. Don't make decisions based on films or emotion. Only facts

@30:50, to answer your question, Ram (The Police Guy) was in the force for 4 years and his mission was to get guns for his land. The only way he could have free access and command over guns is to become a "Special Officer", or the Special Officer can give gun access to soldiers under special circumstances (like when the Governer planned to execute Bheem later). Remember in the intro sequence, our guy was given access only to a wooden stick. Going against 1000s of his own people was his strong attempt at being recognized as a special officer and it failed. And finally, he got a direct offer from a Governer's wife and he took it. If he had failed this mission, he would either have to wait 8 or 12 more years or even more, or he would have to go to even terrible heights to get that recognization. This was his last straw. Just a perspective from Ram's side. Yeah, he did the ultimate betrayal to his best buddy. But there was no other way to accomplish his mission than doing this.

In short RAM mission is to save whole country by providing weapons to fight against British ❤️🇮🇳

It was a real disaster where a british general Dyer killed hundreds of unarmed men, women and children participating in a peaceful protest just to "instil fear" in people. It was just nasty. @dr.khwajarafi9464 11 місяців тому +16

Few easter eggs and fun facts of RRR:
    1) Both the characters Raju and Bheem were inspired from 2 real indian freedom fighters and revolutionists from indian history, Alluri seeta rama raju from andhra pradesh and Komuram bheem from telangana, ie, from the two telugu speaking states, in history both of them Raju and bheem were from same timeline but never met each other in reality, in original history they both went missing for 4 years during this 1920 time period, no one knows where they went and what they did, but after 4 years they both returned to their villages and fought their own fights and both sacrificed their lives for our country, Director rajamouli hv woven a fictional story that what happens if they met each other, and exchange their ideas and ideologies in the time period they went missing... That's how this movie was born.... This movie is about India's freedom from british rule, this movie was about friendship between 2 states...
    2) When bahubali was released many people began to nitpick about small things in the movie, they began to look for flaws, one such flaw which was pointed out by many people is the iconic scene where prabhas makes the huge jump in the waterfall, many pointed out that he should take a run up to make such a huge jump, instead he just jumps from the edge, thats the reason y in RRR When ram and bheem meet for the 1st time, to rescue the kid under the bridge while they jump down the bridge they take a run up in rajamouli style with a horse n a bike🤣🤣 guess what rajamouli learns from his mistakes, even in the same scene we can see ram charan takes a flag dips it in the water n makes it wet before he throws it to jr NTR, so that when jr NTR wraps it around it won't catch fire 🔥🔥... The imagination n brilliance of rajamouli sir🔥🔥 Respect👍👍
    3) Unlike many other indian movies which involve english actors, in RRR we find the performances of english actors far better, that's because rajamouli approached professionals, the one who played Scott is "Ray Stevenson" one who acted in "Thor" movies, one who played lady Scott is "Alison doody" the lead actress from indiana jones....
    4) The sets u can see in nacho nacho or naatu naatu song, the palace behind is actually President's palace in Ukraine..After finishing the movie n returning to india, war was started in ukraine....
    5) When ram captures bheem's clan member, he catches a snake n attacks ram even though he is tied, that man catching the snake is justified coz they r gond tribals, they know everything abt every animal, how to trap and catch them, n how to treat animal attacks using natural ayurvedic remedies, since they were born n brought up in jungle along with those animals n plants, that's how even jr NTR is able to tame n control the animals during interval sequence....
    6) That song jr NTR sings while being whipped "komaram bheemudo", *few* non indian and north indian audience may find the song lil distasteful because they r unaware of the importance of the song, the gond tribe (the telangana people) who faced many tortures under the nijam rule, hv developed a habit of singing folklore songs explaining their pain n oppression for years, these songs kind of made those people stronger n revolt against nijams, similarly at the end of the song people revolt, even now a days these songs r famous in Telangana area, we andhra n telangana people r familiar with such songs, but north indian n non indian audience may not hv any idea abt it, even the song komaram bheemudo was written by one of the famous revolutionary singer from telangana area, if u concentrate on the lyrics of the song we can feel the oppression his people r facing....
    7) the subtext or easter egg about the "Barbed whip" that lady scott threw to torture jr NTR is that in the climax when the Scott's empire blows up when lady scott died we can see her body hanging in "Barbed wires" implying that she finally got what she deserved.... "karma is a bitch"🤭🤭🤣
    8) near the climax when jr NTR knocks on the floor to find ram who was imprisoned in the ground, he actually knocks the same beats of Nacho Nacho song, so that only ram charan could recognise it's him rather than other possible prisoners, ram charan also reciprocates by knocking the same beat of nacho nacho, even in the earlier scene when ram charam is bit by snake he plays the same beats to communicate with jr NTR, the cinematic brilliance of rajamouli for using a song in so many ways giving easter eggs all the way around is lit🔥🔥🔥 hatsoff to rajamouli 🙏
    9) In a scene where they show the security measures of the palace they had 2 doors at entrance, only after closing the 1st door they will open 2nd door, if we observe both the doors clearly and also if we listen to the creek sounds of both doors, we would know the outer door is a wooden one, and the inner door is a metal one, so to rescue malli they can break the outer door but they can't break the inner door, that's the reason y the character jhangu climbs a tree and listens for the 2nd door to open to rescue malli in interval scene... Every small detail in this movie is well planned and well executed...
    10) the scene about bheem carrying ram in the climax sequence may seem a bit overemphasized, but even earlier in the film in dosti song there was a shot giving easter eggs, where we can see jr ntr doing squats on the ground lifting ram charan, then ram charan does pull ups holding a tree branch, this way rajamouli is planting an idea subconsciously to his audience that jr ntr got lower body strength n ram charan got upper body strength... So that audience get convinced during the climax scene where bheem carries ram... Even the scene seems physically impossible, rajamouli never hesitates to show his ideas n imaginations in the most convincing way possible, that scene may be impossible but u could never find any other director pulling of such a scene in any film like rajamouli... Respect....
    11) The same way In climax fight sequence bheem lifting a bike looks over the top for sure, but do u know those bikes were actually used during second world war time so that in any unforeseen situation during war the soldiers can actually carry the bikes, those bikes weight around 55kgs only, i agree that even 55 kg bike travelling at 50kmph velocity is difficult to be lifted... But look at the way it was imagined, presented, picturized, the mesmerising cinematography in that scene, the kind of goosebumps it gave us, we should watch the movie for its epicness, rather than being nitpicky about everything....
    12) At the climax that transformation of ram charan🔥🔥, many people thought that was sree ram's avatar, there are many indian purana's references to the movie for sure but its not only sree ram's avatar, it is also about the original look of Alluri seeta rama raju (the freedom fighter ram charan was playing), alluri seeta rama raju in history was well learnt man who wears those kashayam clothes fights with bow n arrows, probably the best archer india has ever had, he fought against britishers he got weapons n guns by attacking police stations n british camps, he used the same weapons to attack britishers with his trusted men... Even he was shot dead by britishers in the freedom struggle... Legend says that britishers put around 100 bullets in his body n ruthlessly killed him... At the end of the film rajamouli showed ram n bheem in their original looks ram wearing kashayam clothes, with long hair n beard, bheem with a pagdi on his head n those clothes gond people used to wear...
    13) the final RRR fact, For the interval sequence with animals rajamouli shot for around 65 nights, each night they spent around 75lakhs for the shoot itself... In that interval sequence they had to imagine animals were there n fight accordingly, for that to happen n so that each n every background artist to be in sync with the CG animals rajamouli employed different tactics while shooting which were not even used in Hollywood movies,
    a) for bear they used a person wearing green blanket, since the movement of bear is slow similar to a human being...
b)For shots with tiger, tiger moves much faster than humans, so they can't just place a human with green blanket, so rajamouli positioned laser lights following the head position of the tiger, so that camera man n actors can imagine the position of tiger n act accordingly.
    c) for wolves they used dogs which were trained to catch a ball, while shooting the sequence they randomly throw the balls in middle of men, so the dogs chase the balls, in that way rajamouli captured peoples reactions to wolves, later on during CG he replaced the dogs with wolves...
    d) for other fast moving animals like deers, they used remote controlled cars moving in between the actors....

Welcome to amazing world of Indian Cinema! I have ben a fan of Indian films (mainly in Hindi) since the early 2000s. This is one of the best films ever made in India. S.S. Rajamouli is sometimes called the James Cameron of India...yeah, I see it!
The heroes in Indian films always tend to do larger than life, impossible stuff...it is part of the charm of the genre.
Oh, if you read any Indian history...the British were as bad (and sometimes worse) as they are portrayed in this film.
The actress playing Catherine Buxton is Alison Doody, best known as Dr. Ilsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The actor playing Governor Buxton is the late Ray Stevenson, who passed last year a few months shy of one of his best performances being seen...he played Baylan Skoll in the Disney Plus series Star Wars Ahsoka. He is a fan favorite from that series. He also played Volstagg in the Thor films in the MCU. An amazing actor gone to soon. RIP. Ray Stevenson.
All of the portraits, and I do not know the names, are all major figures of Indian Independence. This film is actually using two historical figures, Kormuram Bheem and A. Rama Raju, who were both a part of the revolution. There is no record of them knowing or having met each other, but part of the charm of the story is that each man has a 4 year gap that no one knows what they were doing. Also, Ram Charan (Rama Raju) and N.T. Ramo Rao, Jr. (Bheem) are close friends in real life, which helps convey how much they love each other on screen.
Naatu Naatu won the Oscar for Best Song at last year's Oscars...the first Indian film to do so. It should have been nominated for a ton of others!

(Telangana n Andhra Pradesh states) 3) When ram captures bheem's clan member, he catches a snake n attacks ram even though he is tied, that man catching the snake is justified coz they r gond tribals, they know everything abt every animal, how to trap and catch them, n how to treat animal attacks using natural ayurvedic remedies, since they were born n brought up in jungle along with those animals n plants, that's how even jr NTR is able to tame n control the animals during interval sequence.... That song jr NTR sings while being whipped "komaram bheemudo", few non indian and north indian audience may find the song lil distasteful because they r unaware of the importance of the song, the gond tribe (the telangana people) who faced many tortures under the nijam rule, hv developed a habit of singing folklore songs explaining their pain n oppression for years, these songs kind of made those people stronger n revolt against nijams, similarly at the end of the song people revolt, even now a days these songs r famous in Telangana area, we andhra n telangana people r familiar with such songs, but north indian n non indian audience may not hv any idea abt it, even the song komaram bheemudo was written by one of the famous revolutionary singer from telangana area, if u concentrate on the lyrics of the song we can feel the oppression his people r facing.... 4) the subtext or easter egg about the "Barbed whip" that lady scott threw to torture jr NTR is that in the climax when the Scott's empire blows up when lady scott died we can see her body hanging in "Barbed wires" implying that she finally got what she deserved.... "karma is a bitch"🤭🤭🤣 5)near the climax when jr NTR knocks on the floor to find ram who was imprisoned in the ground, he actually knocks the same beats of Nacho Nacho song, so that only ram charan could recognise it's him rather than other possible prisoners, ram charan also reciprocates by knocking the same beat of nacho nacho, even in the earlier scene when ram charam is bit by snake he plays the same beats to communicate with jr NTR, the cinematic brilliance of rajamouli for using a song in so many ways giving easter eggs all the way around is lit🔥🔥🔥 hatsoff to rajamouli 🙏 continued 2 cmnt nxt

I wish I could like intern under the director Rajamouli or something. I got teary for the talent of the director and the actors and the entire crew to have brought out those emotions in you. It’s the best movie ever made for me, I’ve watched a lot of movies, trust me. I can’t praise this movie enough. I can’t appreciate it enough. He tried to get promoted when he beat the shit out of those people in starting but Britisher's didn't promote him. It was established early in the movie

You completely misunderstood the Ram's character..
    1) Ram is not just fighting for his village people as u thought, he is fighting for his country, including bheem's village people too, he is a freedom fighter... He is trying to revolt against the entire british empire who colonized whole india (including bheem's village)
    2) i agree that bheem's fight is important too, saving malli is important too, but Ram is fighting for a greater good here, by revolting against British, Ram can save crores of people like malli...
3)Ram has to capture bheem coz it's the only chance to become a special officer, the goal he was trying to achieve since 4 years, the goal his dad dreamt of 20yrs before...
    4) by getting the rank of special officer he can get hands on guns n ammunition, which indian freedom fighters were in need of...
    5) inorder to save the whole country from british rule, he has to let the british to capture bheem, that's the irony of the story, he loves his dad but he has to kill his dad, and similarly he has to betray his best friend inorder to save every indian...

I saw this movie at the theater. We didn't know anything about it. We just went to see every Indian action film we could at the time and this was another one. Now this is one my favorite movies and I tell everyone to see it so they can know how incredible Indian movies are. Might I suggest the movie Sooryavanshi. That is the first ever Indian film I saw. It's a action film with some comedy. It's way over the top in entertainment value. This is a police film with characters from other successful movies of their own. Apparently super cop characters are very popular in these films.

I have watched your reaction twice. It is normal to feel totally immersed and emotional if you have not seen something like this before. I have seen women crying on the movie "Lion" too. But the dynamics for both the characters in the movie around interval. Bheem could not have escaped with heavy military presence and besides British already knew where Malli would go while Ram's plan was to destroy the whole empire. This is what he said in the end his goal was limited to Malli but Ram's plan was a lot bigger. RamCharan is married by the way Awww. And Natu Natu song won the Gloden Globe award last year. I am very disappointed that none of the Western reviewer could spot Lord Ram or aura of a God in the end, besides one African who kind of said something along those lines. Which makes me think again, that Westerns are so oblivious of our culture and emotions that it overwhelms them in the movie when they do.

With Bahubali franchise, many movies are shot in one language and dubbed into others, still becoming huge hits. Cinema doesnt need language if it has visual story telling and can evoke emotions in viewers

@@chrissiereacts I get why you would think he was doing it for his own village and not for the entire country. As for your question about why there were traitors in India siding with the British Government, well, in nutshell:
India is not like one nation. We are more like entire Europe, just more diverse be it in language or cuisine or skin colour. But we Indians were united by our common cultural bedrock of Dharma of which the earliest surviving texts are the Vedas from 1500 BC and paintings depicting traces of this culture date back to 7000 BC or more.
India has been fighting incessant waves of foreign invasions for thousands of years (Greeks, Persians, Huns, etc) but we fought them all off successfully. But in the last 1000 years, those incessant waves of invasions finally managed to breach our nation's frontiers and invaded and subjugated us in the truest sense. Our libraries, schools and universities were burnt down and most of our scriptures and treatises on everything from mathematics to medicine, from statecraft and economics to astronomy, were erased and our people were converted into foreign religions by the threat of the sword. These 1000 years have seen many gen0cides perpetrated by foreign invaders upon those of us that didn't convert. And those that did convert were forced to participate in some of these gen0c!des. Basically, in these last 1000 years, India has been in an almost constant state of civil war, trying to regain control from the foreign invaders. This has resulted in cultural regression (for example curbs on freedom of women which we had to impose because our mothers, wives and sisters were targeted by the invaders, forcing us to reduce their public presence by a lot compared to the pre-invasion era where we've had texts like the Kamasutra). And not just cultural regression, this has resulted in a fractured society where eventually it was Indians fighting other Indians. *Because once you attack our bedrock of Dharma and cause regression in it, we Indians lose the common thread that binds us together. And so this bedrock was what these invaders targeted the most until it loosened and we fought each other* (oversimplifying, it is a lot more nuanced and complicated than this).
In the 1700s, when we were finally managing to reconquer our lands, we lost a few key battles momentarily weakening our position and Britain arrived and in the ensuing power vacuum and infighting, made one Indian fight another and slowly established their colonial rule over us. And this is where the next layer of cultural subversion of India began. Unlike the previous invaders, the British were EXTREMELY smart, methodical and ruthless in attacking our common bedrock of Dharma. Remember how the previous set of invaders had burnt down our libraries and universities? Our historical records survived mostly in the collective memories of us Indians. The British sought to exploit this information vacuum and they started doing "research" on Indian history. They literally re-wrote our history and erased our history and replaced it with something that will make one Indian hate another Indian. This was a part of the British Divide and Rule policy. Among the scholarly myths created by the British utilizing half truths and selective reporting (exactly like how modern news media uses half truths and selective reporting to push an agenda) were myths like The Caste System, The Aryan Invasion Theory, Hindu evil practices like Sati, etc.
Eventually, when India won its independence, these two previous invaders came together and gave us one final crippling wound: Partition of India into India and Pakistan. That resulted in 1 Million deaths and 15 Million migrants, largest forced migration in human history. And this was after Millions of Indians had already died in British induced famines. More Indians died in these two things than the number of Jews that H!tler killed.
To this day and age, India is trying to tape itself back together piece by piece after the way in which our society and cultural ethos was broken by the last two waves of invaders. And to this day Western powers like UK and even USA now continue to fund this British policy of Divide and Rule and the myths they created. Heck they have the audacity to label the money they send to NGOs in India as "aid money to India", when that money is used to fund the divide and rule. There is a reason why foreigners that don't know much about India invariably always start with "Caste System" and "Poverty" when describing India. Because innocent foreign citizens like you are fed this propaganda by your governments. We don't hate you for it, but it is indeed irksome. No matter, we have now started countering those myths by new archeological findings and begun challenging them in the academia. Meanwhile, India's rising economic and military might is already the third strongest in the world behind USA and China. Only a matter of time now before these attacks on our cultural bedrock become pointless. This is the century of Indian renaissance.
