Best part of levolution in bf4 was how drastically it would change the flow of certain sections of a map for so little to cause the change. Most it usually takes is one player with c4 or a rocket launcher and a support.
And quite a few of them were strategic. Flood Zone changed the vehicle game. Others changed the ways whole control point were set up. Or take down a well fortified area where a lot of people would have otherwise camped, like in Locker. Though some of them were VERY situational.
One Conquest game on Shanghai, we were blowing out the enemy team by more than 400 points. Halfway through, when the skyscraper had collapsed, we ended with a nail biter, winning with only less than 100 tickets left. Looking back, gotta love how it's tactical decisions like that which can alter the course of battle
Although BF1 didnt have much "Levolution" in the traditional Dice sense, the levels throughout the course of an Operations map was a sight to see. To begin the battle in this little town, and as the match goes on it gets more and more destroyed, eventually with artillery holes and half built buildings, it really felt like a war happened there.

I think that's a part of the natural physics of the game. Because palm trees also move back further if you go closer to it with a helicopter as well. So I think whatever they used to make that happen was also used to make them move back in the levolution.

this is a feature that naturally should've gotten even more insane, but it just essentially squashed. even just the battlefield destruction was dialled back a lot
Had EA not dropped the ball on this, given us a Bad Company story mode, and been a better company overall... this would be grand. But again, I am still in awe of how much further Planetside 2 is ahead of BF2042.
Such impressive destruction, it's amazing that we had games do stuff like this long time ago. Just imagine what future games would have if they had such destruction stuff like that.
Yeah destruction was a cool feature that all the leaks for 2042 said they'd get really extreme with things like all buildings being destructible, and completely unrealistic expectations of how the game would pan out. I really think the fans and the developers ruined themselves with 2042. I couldn't blindly support that the way other people did.
I remember when people were speculating that all the massive skyscrapers would be destructible. That was definitely too far fetched to believe but I did think there’d be more than what we got
I'm new to the franchise, and what surprised me was that in Battlefield 2042, I could stick to a wall and feel safe. However, when I started playing Battlefield 3 maps, I realized that I couldn't find cover easily.
Caspian border still just so, so epic, in both bf3 and 4, the tower falls across half the map! 6:10 this is a easter egg and also a levolution, it sends fiery debris flying across the map, and said debris stay were they fell until the end of the match, it deals damage if you get too close to it
I think everyone remembers how cinematic and detail were scenes in Left4Dead (plane crash for example) Valve just prescribed a lot of little things in the sequential animation, and it's these little things that are missing in Levolution from Dice
It feels like the levolutions have been great even though you can see some assets being removed and then seeing stuff destroyed I think that is taking away the beautiful destruction of stuffing being destroyed
Also my favorite who be the crane falling from hardline cuz you can make such a cool and badass clip of trying to jump on a helicopter while the crane is falling but my one complaint bout the crane is well the ladder like at least make a tall building to where we can get on it easily
I do appreciate that 2042 has somewhat returned to the old school levolution that Battlefield was known for. I enjoyed BF1 and BFV but it felt like it was constantly missing something as a result of levolution being next to non-existent
When I first heard that the Battlefield games had destructible environments (Usually used as a reason why Battlefield is better than CoD), I was in awe. "Wait, that's possible in a video game?" And then I proceeded to never try a single Battlefield game.

Didn’t know! Do you have a video of it?
no, I’ve driven over it and it didn’t do anything
Always loved the levolution on sunai desert for Bf1 as it stopped all the snipers going up there and camping, my favourite for nostalgia reasons.
The soldier watches as he destroys everything in sight:

"Train passes by" LEVOLUUUTION :D
One of my favourite moments in BF history was the tower ar 7:34 exploding, when it started to fall I saw multiple sniper bodies falling off and I was amused
regarding BF4. Its so sad i wont get to play on 98% of those maps, because no server runs them - even though they look so cool
that bf1 blimp explosion... man i loved that game so much. so cinematic.
Levolution in 2013: Skyscraper collapsing, map flooding.
Levolution in 2021: Sign falls off of skyscraper, side of boat falls off.
The rocket exploding is the only one I really like from 2042, apart from the fuel tanks exploding in breakaway
22:39 you're telling me I endured YEARS of snipers camping on the ledges that ramp leads up to and I could've actually done something about it???
Battlefield creators:yes
this is a feature that naturally should've gotten even more insane, but it just essentially squashed.
even just the battlefield destruction was dialled back a lot
Battlefield the only FPS franchise that evolved backwards
Had EA not dropped the ball on this, given us a Bad Company story mode, and been a better company overall... this would be grand. But again, I am still in awe of how much further Planetside 2 is ahead of BF2042.
Bro the second one 💀 metal pipe be bussin
Such impressive destruction, it's amazing that we had games do stuff like this long time ago.
Just imagine what future games would have if they had such destruction stuff like that.
The entire bf 1 could become an empty wastekand like st Quentin scar on operations
If they put 1/3 of the effort they put into battlefield 4, 2042 would have been so much better.
@@Chazsaurus You'd think given how it was visibly all hands on deck.
Wanton destruction gives me life. Keep it up!
I'm new to the franchise, and what surprised me was that in Battlefield 2042, I could stick to a wall and feel safe. However, when I started playing Battlefield 3 maps, I realized that I couldn't find cover easily.
Most games have indestructible structures, but this this is the finest one yet. Impressive
Bro what which games 😂
@@newt4949the majority
@@AhmedEx1. Except bf2042
23:24 Ya know the Ammo Bunkers on this map also blow up really good...
Caspian border still just so, so epic, in both bf3 and 4, the tower falls across half the map!
6:10 this is a easter egg and also a levolution, it sends fiery debris flying across the map, and said debris stay were they fell until the end of the match, it deals damage if you get too close to it
I think everyone remembers how cinematic and detail were scenes in Left4Dead (plane crash for example)
Valve just prescribed a lot of little things in the sequential animation, and it's these little things that are missing in Levolution from Dice
0:29 the funny pipe noise
dice while developing almost every map: “lets make this bridge blow up”
The blimps going down in bf1 are really such a spectacle
Paracel of Storm Levolution was another level…🔥
*shoots water tank, legs starts breaking
somethings not adding up here 🤔
BF1 was so good, the ammunition depots going off while the ship sinks slowly was always so haunting
That is the most badass thing I have ever seen
0:32 metal pipe sound effect
I do appreciate that 2042 has somewhat returned to the old school levolution that Battlefield was known for. I enjoyed BF1 and BFV but it felt like it was constantly missing something as a result of levolution being next to non-existent
Less big buildings were used in ww1 ww2
Becuase there years take place in the 1910s and 1940s and big skyscrapers where primitive at that time
When I first heard that the Battlefield games had destructible environments (Usually used as a reason why Battlefield is better than CoD), I was in awe.
"Wait, that's possible in a video game?"
And then I proceeded to never try a single Battlefield game.
Being a Call of Duty Andy and then seeing the destructability that was allowed in Battlefield, as a kid it blew my mind
