Thank you!! I bought a tutorial awhile back and was just not able to follow the bail, got a bit frustrated and set it aside….and promptly completely forgot about it lol the wrap was for my teenage daughter lol she reminded me about it recently.. and was hoping to find someone else doing the bail style via UA-cam that might explain it /show it a bit better and here I stumbled upon this vid!! The 2nd type you did looks the same as the initial tutorial I was attempting. Thanks to this, I think I’m going to bust it out and give it another go under your guidance! Thanks soo much!! *fingers crossed I can tackle it successfully this time* :)
Thank you Oxana! You are so sweet and helpful! I think I asked you a while back to do a bail making tutorial and my wish came true! I appreciate the way you explain everything in a way that makes sense to me. Thanks so much!
+Jayme Witcher Thanks, I have a tutorial on it here: ua-cam.com/video/7ylASz0ojfo/v-deo.html&lc=z13mh5ea4omjdnh5s04cdfpympzozluxsdc The bail is different, but the other part is the same
Loving the videos. But wish u would of shown how to end this. like what to do with the weaving wire when u get to the end so everything stays tight. Thank you for doing all the videos u have done. They have helped me a lot. Almost got my first wrap done!
Hi Oxana! I love coming back to your tutorials. Refreshing my memory after a long break from wire wrapping (learned a lot from you in the beginning, thank you!). Do you have any pendant tuts using this type of weave? I wrapped an oval stone a few years ago with a similar weave (ladder aka figure 8 weave in center, spaced to zig zag, except the outer pairs of base wires have a 2/4 weave). Don't remember if I figured that out myself or learned it from you. It makes a great wrap for a thick drilled bead without the beveled edge cabs typically have. Any links or tips appreciated! I'll keep watching this tut until then. Thanks ☺️
I like to use this weaving on bails, so I'd make a woven frame with different weave and then do this pattern on the bail ua-cam.com/video/4-B5gkxeHVo/v-deo.html
Can I ask what brand wire you're using? Is it 20 gauge? I found the brand artistic wire is almost too flexible and I'm having trouble keeping them straight when I weave...
One question - where did you begin weaving the bail? Did you just continue from the wrap you were doing on the cabochon? I'm just curious if you can make that bail even if it doesn't connect to the frame around the stone. I hope that makes sense! :-)
+Kristina Moeck yes, mine was just wires coming from the frame around the cabochon. I'm not sure how you would make it separately, you would have to attach it afterwards.
this video is just about a weaving pattern, I think what you are looking for is a full tutorial on how to make a pendant, here is one you might like: ua-cam.com/video/4-B5gkxeHVo/v-deo.html
Ugh, lol. I really like the ladder weave you did but I watched the beginning part like ten times and i couldn't seem to see it very well when you moved over to the other side so needles to say I couldnt get it... :( I think its because maybe your camera wen out of focus. But at the very beginning when you moved from the one side to the other and you said to put it over the very front wire and put it in between that's where I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong cause I did it like you said but then when you said now the wire is in the back mine was on the side IDK, maybe you can do an updated one I mean you don't have to do a whole pendant you could just do like a demonstration on 4 wires... IDK just an idea.. Alright like always love your work and Ill keep trying to figure it out..
Hey, I repeat the pattern a few times, so if you didn't catch it the first time, just keep watching, I go back down to the bottom and do the whole pattern over again. I just tried to write out the instructions as best I could, hope it helps: It starts with one single wrap around bottom most base wire( the wire goes from the front over that bottom base wire and to the back, then down and to the front). Next(your wire should be coming towards you from the very bottom at this point) you bring it up the front and over the second from the bottom base wire, now you wire will be in back and you bring it back to the front by putting it through the two base wires(in other words above the bottom most base wire and below the second from the bottom wire). Now your wire is in the front. And it looks like there is one loop around the very bottom base wire, a big loop going over both of the bottom base wires, and one loop over the second from the bottom base wire). You then bring your weaving wire to the very top, by going through that big gap and under those top two base wires(the ones you have not been wrapping around yet). So as your weaving wire goes under those top two wires you fold it over the very top base wire(bringing it to the front) and under that very top base wire(bringing it to the back). Now it looks like you have just made one single loop around the very top base wire. This is essentially the same pattern as you did on the bottom wires. Because now you bring it over both of those top two base wires, to the back, and then in between those top two base wires(from back to front). Now that it is coming out towards you from in between the top two base wires, you bring it up to the very bottom(through that big gap). Now the patterns starts all over again(you start with the one wrap around bottom most base wire).
I've rewound this 5 times trying to follow it after being directed here from a pendant with this bail that I also couldn't follow. Part of the problem is what you're calling top wire isn't the top. And I'm seeing and hearing something different.

Doing this on square wire works beautifully! Thank you!
I love the wrap on the cab, I will have to look back on your videos, I don't remember a tutorial on that.

Always beautiful work! Where do you sell & market your jewelry?
+It's A Good Day Thank you! Mostly on my Facebook page OxanaCrafts, but also on Instagram and a tiny bit on ebay
Bonjour ,je voudraiI savoir où vous achetez votre fil de cuivre ...Merci !!! Vos bobines ont l'air très grosse en quantité :)
I use resin pendants and during the wrapping they get scratched. How to fix that?😢
Maybe you can put something on them to protect them, like cover them in painter's tape
@@OxanaCrafts good idea.
I don’t understand how to make the part that goes around the stone.
