I love how CK3 requires Piety to convert and the more different the religion the more Piety you need because it creates genuinely deranged stories. "I have walked the holy path to Mecca and touched the Qabbah and I have found that the one true god is Tengri."
Agreed! It's really bizarre. I think faith reformation makes sense to require a lot of piety, but honestly, faith conversion should be its own stat. To convert, you'd have to dabble in another religion, build up that meter, and only when it's full would you get to convert. Then, to add some additional flavor to the feature, you can change "ask to convert faith" into more of a "convert faith" scheme, where you regularly challenge your target's faith, in an effort to get them to see the light. Finally, give the realm priest a council task where they occasionally build up some of the conversion bar for your heretic vassals, allowing you to "prep" them for conversion schemes, giving you a head start, or just leave the priest on that task long enough to, over the course of many years, convert your realm's vassals. Make it so that when you challenge a character's faith, it pits your learning stat against theirs, with bonuses and penalties for virtues and sins, respectively. If they win, they build some of your conversion bar, but if you win, you build theirs. This is to make it harder for any old startup religion to conquer an entire region, but to make it so a true visionary can lead a religious movement.
@@Zebo12345678 They are slowly moving in the right direction. For example now you can hide your faith and only pay lip service to your liege's faith if they force a conversion (and by extent your vassals can do the same if you demand conversion). My only problem then is I don't actually know where to find information on my character's secret faith. I know with the Persian DLC pack a couple of the starting Iranian Intermezzo characters are secret Zoroastrians but I don't know where to find that out.

Starts as a Muslim. Pilgrimage to Mecca, converts to Christianity. Pilgrimage to Jerusalem, forms a Christian sect that is syncretic with Islam. That's some peak CK3.
I started a game where I took Iberia. Just I did it as a Viking Pope. I also started on the isle of Mann. I also have taken most of England. I started the Norwegian culture. Gave it by the sword. Koifish, you should start as Heasteen and conquer Marrakesh convert to Almohodi, become involved in the clash, become Caliph of Almohodi. AND THEN try to the end clash with domination. You can become Caliph in Heasteen's lifetime.
Yusuf Ibn Zakariyya. I don't really get old arabian/iberian naming conventions but I'm pretty sure that anglicized this translates to Joseph, son of Zachary. Or Joe, Zach's boy.
You should've Broke from Rome as a Mozarabic ruler; doing that can make your faith syncretic with Islamic faiths for basically free. Still a fun video regardless ^^
African content. Ghana was the richest country in the world at during the Middle-Ages. I want a West-African themed content pack like they did for Iberia and Persia.
Here's a few ideas I've come up with that I'd like, in no particular order. I've thought some of these through a bit, and some of them not at all. If you're curious about any of my thoughts for these, ask me to elaborate. 1. More religion mechanics. More immersive conversion prerequisites, debates being part of faith reformation, immersive heresies, etc. 2. Cult mechanics. Witch covens, heretical cults, smuggling rings, fight clubs... These would be essentially "underground organizations" that you could join and convene with, with a variety of influences in a region. 3. More time period bookmarks (self-explanatory) 4. Character aspirations. CK2 had this feature added at some point where you could select a goal for your character, and completing that goal would grant a bonus. I want that back. And having a goal active should cause opportunities to help you toward that goal to occasionally happen. 5. Creating and managing your own mercenary companies and holy orders, possibly even giving you the option to lead the mercenaries in battle under the control of your client. Most notably, having events and upgrade paths for your mercenary/holy order guild hall. Kinda like having a second royal court, but tied to your company.
Easiest way to get piety up but so goofy Like some other guy said, it should be a meter that you fill up as you explore another faith, or lose your current faith. Characters with certain traits like cynical would have options to shoot that bar up really fast or just completely fill it up if it becomes politically expedient

Best way to get rid of the dreaded struggle is to form an Empire outside of Iberia than conquer it as an outsider, IMO.
