- Irene Cara talks about her Grammy Nominations for “Flashdance... What a Feeling.” Cara co-wrote the lyrics and performed the song for the 1983 film, “Flashdance.” Among other awards, the song won a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, an Oscar for Best Original Song, and a Golden Globe, also for Best Original Song. Irene Cara was already well-known by then, especially for her role in the 1980 movie, “Fame,” as well as for the film's title song. (Her voice sounds raspy in this video because she was recovering from the flu.) Irene Cara died at her home on November 25, 2022, at age 63. 🅲🅲 / @tvcrewguy

How's the book coming? I'm glad I found you at this sight.
I can't believe its been almost a year since she's been gone. Crazy I dated someone just a few years ago that resembled "Irene" ... what was even crazier she passed too almost 6 days to a month of "Irene"... just crazy. For you L.N.T 🌹 😔... may you both rest eternally in the Lord's arms. 🕊
RIP Irene
Why do you want her to rest ? Most spirits are really active in the other world
