- Another iconic performer has received her wings... Irene Cara. As a longtime fan of her career, talents and respectfully her beauty, I dedicate this short tribute to her long and monumental career. R.I.P.

I was on my phone minding my business and then I'll send them watching channel 7 and I'm like no what I was shocked that she passed I was speechless cuz I was just talking about watching sparkle the other day the original one so they did other things beside sparkle together 😎💯🤔
Lovely tribute to Irene, she deserves more. I hope she is resting in peace. I could relate to so many of her songs. Out here on my own was so me at the time. I made it and Fame was so inspiring. She was so talented and will be missed RIP song angel.❤️❤️

I've always loved " what a feeling " 1 of my favorite songs of all time!
My heart is absolutely crushed that Irene left us at only 63. One year younger than me so I remember how multi-talented she was. Gorgeous with so much vibrant energy when she performed. Powerful performance in Sister Sister with Diahann Carroll and Rosalind Cash. RIP Irene. You will be sorely missed!
Irene never got her flowers like she should have in this life. Seems that those with no talent get the most accolades. RIP, Queen.

I'm heartbroken, Irene Cara is gone too soon. She was such an inspiration to me, as a Latina she gave us Latinos hope as Artists that it can be done, she opened the doors for many famous people. Such an amazing force and humble nature of Irene Cara, may she rest in God's heavenly peace. Even now watching this beautiful tribute of her work, she inspires me and touches my heart. She gave her all, what an amazing overall performer. Never to be forgotten.

We purchased her records, watch her on tv and praised her when she won awards..
But her time at the top came to an end due to her alleged drug use and the rise of Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson...
Also, she had some enemies in the industry who boycotted and blacklisted her...
By the end of 1985 she was ghosted, even her acting died too.
God , she was so breathtakingly beautiful.

I'm so devastated to hear about the death of Irene Cara. I remember being a kid in the 80s and watching her perform on Solid Gold and American Bandstand. She was a beautiful talented woman who could sing, act and dance. R.I.P. 😢🙏
This one hurt. I can go back further in her career when she was on PBS show "The Electric Company" which was part of the Sesame Street family. It had a bunch of kids in a group named The Short Circus. Morgan Freeman who was unknown at the time played a character called Easy Reader. I loved her as Sparkle & Coco in Fame. Neither film should not have been remade. A Star is burning bright in the heavens. May she always rest in peace.
@@rubyredjevvel so true! The Fame and Sparkle remakes were horrible. Nothing like the originals! There was just something about Irene Cara that captivated you! I wish she could've had a bigger music career past 1984. It was like Irene owned the early part of the 80s (1980-84) and Whitney handled the other 5 years. It's a shame because, Irene had the voice to be a bigger pop star . However, the music industry did her wrong. So sad. 😢😔

@@rubyredjevvel so will I! I would get excited whenever I saw her on TV even in the early 2000s. I actually have an older sister who looks exactly like Irene. In the early 80s, people would stop my sister Tanya and say, "do you know who you look like"? My sister Tanya ( who is 60) would smile and say thank you. When I informed her yesterday of Irene's passing, she was very quiet and sad. My entire family loved Irene Cara. She will be missed!

I have been amazed at how much this lady has done in her career. There is a documentary on UA-cam about her it's very poor quality but you can pick up on the highs and lows of her career. A star was born in Irene. RIP Irene. You made things happen for many many people.

My oldest living brother was in love with Irene Cara. I was a little too young to truly appreciate her, but I do remember watching her and knowing that she was talented. After watching this, I know why my brother was in love with her. She is beautiful, sexy and extremely talented. She had that natural undefiled beauty. Too bad the young women of today want to defile their natural God given beauty with a bunch of ratchet tattoos, piercings all over the place, and fake body parts. Irene was such a big part of my childhood. I remember seeing her first in Sparkle. I had no idea she was actually 16. What a talent and sweet soul.
This is sooooooo shocking to me. Just a few months ago, I was on an Irene Cara Binge. From watching "Aaron Love Angela", watching episodes of Fame, her music videos, and her most recent interviews, etc. And to come and find out that this Beautiful and talented African-American -Puerto Rican woman passed away, just hurts so bad. R.I.P. Irene (Gone too soon). Loved you so much. ❤ Take care of yourselves, and your overall health people. Life is just too damn short.
