I had an 82 with 6.2 diesel. It was silver and navy 2 tone. Same truck as yours, I miss it, it was a beauty.
I like them because you can do a little bit at a time and LMC and JC Whitney has everything for them.

That's the cleanest truck I've seen just sitting around out in the woods or at the edge of it. Clean as in lack of Filth and the body lack of rust.

I had a 83 C10 deluxe which is a lower trim level than the Silverado. It was almost same color but was darker shade. When I had it painted it was ppg Brandy wine. Had a straight six but I built a mild little 355 about 450horse and had ac. Stout little 700r4 trans. It was lowered but it beat and banged and rode like a wagon So I put belltech suspension in it. I put weld bullet holes on it and then American racing but I went back with the original rally wheels and bought new beauty rings, center caps, and had the rims powder coated. Mine was short bed. I ended up selling it because I had a 97 reg cab short bed Silverado and a 93 S10 that I put a tuned port Vette motor in. I hate like hell I sold my C10. Theres a UA-cam channel United by Trucks that is all about square body Chevy trucks if you haven't already seen it! Good luck with your truck!

Put some new bushings on the door latch striker pins....the doors will close like new!
Bushing in the door hinges will help! About 2 bucks each!
most of the time the door problems are cause by the hinge pins, and door strikers. not expensive, and available at any auto parts store. the doors are heavy, which over time causes the pins to bend, causing sag, making the doors not close properly.
