Hey Muta - Thanks for being one of the few people to point out that this was a child zone - Possibly even a school for younger people. Most people are trying to down-play this saying it's just a regular residential area which is insanely dishonest. If you want some depressing math, look how far away the kid could could be to still be dead given that speed. Cars don't stop instantly when breaking. Even if he saw a kid in the distance - It'd still be dead. This is not "Kid jumping out from behind a car so he's dead" - No - This is "Kid walking across a pedestrian crossing in broad daylight but he's driving so fast he can't slow down so the kid is dead" levels of speed.
I've seen people defending him saying it was filmed on a sunday (not sure where they got that information from) but even if it was children still hang out in the playgrounds and walk around the neighborhood on weekends. Regardless what he did was super dangerous, school zone/play zone or not.

@@CircumcisedUnicorn Basic road safety -> at 90 mph the breaking distance is 360 feet. The faster you go the further the car travels before you can even react. That's part of the calculation. Just a reminder, In Switzerland, a man was fined $1.2m for speeding. Doing 125mph in a 20mph zone. He lost his licence and car. Again scaled up against your income. Some countries in the EU fine you a % of your income so it has some impact In Finland, the richest Finnish man was fined $130,000 for speeding 82kph/51mph in a 30 zone. He was fined 14 days of his income. He had his car impounded and licence temporarily suspended.
I wish us Americans were smart enough to make our trash-tier politicians (most of them) pass laws like that. So many of our citizens think we're the best country in the world and ahead of everyone else. We are so far behind a bunch of European countries in terms of laws and policies. Penalties should scale with your income/financial worth. And corporations should be fined in similar ways; especially with regard to abuse of personal data.
A lot of these big UA-camrs need to humble themselves more. How did Marques go from reviewing smartphones, to speeding in a school zone on a Lamborghini?
Mutah, as a Toronto area, Trucker, I'm very glad you have a healthy view of road safety. I've seen both adults and children get killed on the road, and it's usually the result of someone who should have known better. If you need speed, take it to the track.
96mph is over 153km/h for my fellow canadians or otherwise non-Americans (for reference that 35mph speed limit is 56km/h). I'd be scared driving that speed on A HIGHWAY IN THE LEFTMOST LANE. The fact that he did that in a residential street where kids could be playing outside in broad daylight genuinely baffles me. I'm not sure if it's just the typical lamborghini owner brainrot or if he genuinely thought doing something so stupid was okay, but i seriously hope someone from his area reports him to the local authorities and gets his license temporarily suspended. On any other day that could easily be a kid sent to the hospital.
I've driven a lot of cars over the years, including on the Autobahn. 95mp/h (150km/h) in a vehicle designed for it, in good conditions, on appropriate roads, isn't remotely scary in the moment - indeed it can feel like you're only doing 50mp/h (80km/h). I remember taking my Volvo T5 on an unrestricted Autobahn to see if it could hit it's apparently electronically limited 155mp/h (250km/h) top speed and whilst it could, at that speed it blew out the window seals like a gun had gone off. Truth is though, driving a vehicle built to do it on good roads in the dry and 95mph can feel like 50mph; It only starts to *feel* sketchy past about 120mph (200km/h)
@@rossstewart9475 "on appropriate roads" That's all that needed to be said. A school zone isn't an appropriate road. Anything but the autobahn (or similar road should they exist) or a track isn't an appropriate road.

Fun fact though, US highways were built for those kinds of speeds: The limit was put in place for economy reasons during the 70s fuel crisis. Since then those limits have been taken into account and much of the infrastructure isn't capable anymore, but there are places where you'd really only be breaking the law to do what he did here. Had he done this on the interstate, nobody would've batted an eye.
The problem with "nobody got hurt" is that people who think that way refuse to add on _"this time"_ to that statement. Driving your exploding speed machine defensively _should_ be the norm, as opposed to laughed at. I call it the same thing as some of the maintenance I do; _preventative._ I am doing my absolute best to _prevent_ somebody from ending up in the same situation I am in as a result of dumb drivers. "Nobody got hurt" is a mindset of people who have never been personally affected _by_ the hurt the exploding speed machines can cause. I hope that stays true for them and those around them. We all got somewhere to go. Best to get there as _safely_ as possible, not as quickly.
Highways are one thing, but school zones or anywhere near residential neighborhoods is just plain stupidity. Nobody should be driving if they drive like this
I disagree with even the highways. I've seen so many deadly crashes, especially on Highway 4... They have speed limits for a reason. If you need to temporarily exceed the speed limit by 5-10mph to pass a semi truck, that's one thing. Anything else, I disagree with.
Highways aren't one thing. Highways aren't race tracks either. If MKBHD or anyone else wants to drive that fast, they should be going to a race track specifically designed for driving fast. Not doing it in school zones. Not doing it in residential neighborhoods. And not doing it on the highways.

130km/h is insane, he shouldn't be allowed to drive.

The problem is the attitude. “Sorry I got caught” just shows how much he cares. Marques has let his fame go to his head.
Before all of these (like the wallpaper app) happened, I already notice MKBHD showing off cars that is not really necessary for the video. He just put it there for the sake of showing that he is driving cool cars. Not sure if it was his or if it was a loaner but damn, that driving shows that he is thinking he's above the law.
I've done 95 in a 65 highway that was empty and it felt like I was completely out of my gourd, despite being relatively safe. I cannot imagine going anywhere near that fast on a residential street.

Exactly. That's why I never watch his videos. He's basically an imposter in the space.

@@rossstewart9475Exactly. Experts are too esoteric and to get a full appreciation for their knowledge you need a base level understanding that the LCD is not going to possess.
Tbf at least for other reviewers a lot of people don’t actually care about the specific technical specs. A lot of people just want someone with a similar mindset to them saying if they like a piece of tech and most people are not tech experts.
I have made a severe and continuous lapse in my speedometer...
Lmfao
I used to drive a lot in residential areas and there's one time where a kid actually throw himself in front of my bike, like don't ever trust kids to be careful and as the adult you should know better and be very cautious.
The speedo on the passenger side is USUALLY used by a co-driver during professional racing. Something like a spotter for a marksman.
is it usually feature. I dont even think gt3 cars have passenger seats and the only motorsport i know to hv co drivers is Rally

I’m cool with like cameras recording you and the road but trying to vlog and shit while driving should be illegal
@@teewhy2747 Yeah I'm so sick of watching people vlog drive on their channels. They have to go to the store to pick up something for that video and think they need to vlog on the drive over. Even when they have a cameraman in the passenger seat holding the camera for them, it's still awful. They're looking at the camera more than the road in front of them! It's distracted driving, no different than being on a cell phone. It should be illegal, if cops see it they should be pulling people over, and audiences should be more willing to call people out on it and tell them to stop. Nothing they have to say during the drive is worth putting people's lives in danger for! Resume the vlog in the parking lot to show off your haul, resume the vlog back home or studio to show off the haul, we don't need commentary on the drive to the store or the drive back. Shut up and watch the damn road!
dashcams have left your brain
If it's a body cam or dashcam it's not going to be distracting. A large part of his channel is car reviews so doing this is his job. It's the speed that's the problem.
I was thinking it was nothing, he just ran a red on accident or something. But now I'm genuinely concerned he's going almost 3 times over the speed limit where there could've been children. I know people speed ever so slightly at times but holy fuck.
