- First shown at the Dazzle Weekend at the Museum of Liverpool, November 2014.
We were initially asked to create something visual to accompany Dazzle Ships (Parts I, IV, V & VI) just in case of inclement weather and for those who may struggle to access the ship's engine room.
Hambi created this powerful short film entirely from stills taken on the
Edmund Gardner.
Even with the passage of time this song and its creators are still capable of surprising and amazing their audience/fans ... probably why I have been an admirer since seeing them at the Apollo on 20.9.79.
Excellent work, both aurally and visually. BTW: It would be great to arrange all seven parts of Dazzle Ships and to assemble them in a single track!
Saw OMD play Club Foot in Austin Texas in the early 80's. You expanded my mind. Thanks for continuing to push the edge of pop music with a persistence, creative spirit, & vision of what can be accomplished with a few circuits & a lot of skill. Here's to a speedy recovery for your drummer. Keep up the good work!
Fantastic! Bravo! After 30 years of listening to II, III and VII, to now have the complete suite is just awesome! A million thanks for thinking we would enjoy this so many years later.
This reminds me of Beaubourg by Vangelis, in its abstract nature. I'd love a whole album of it!
I always thought they should have put the entire Dazzle Ships suite(1-7) on the re released album but not to be :-(
First group I was totally into. Their best album (the first 3 are amazing too) Why oh why have all the parts not been issued on cd ?
Beautiful
Superb!
