The man just can't stop! Great music pours out of him. I guess that's why I've been a major fan for over 35 years. Damn, has it really been that long? Keep 'em coming Paul. Peace.
His best ever. Big statement but as a complete album I honestly think it is his best. I can't stop playing it. Love seeing videos like this to see how it was borne and came about. The guy is a national treasure and still vastly underrated and ignored outside of the UK.
Paul Weller is a music god. Saw him for the kick off to his US tour for A Kind Revolution in NYC recently and I was BLOWN away. This man's vibe is so high you can't help but get high with him in his presence! His music is better than drugs! LOL
Love the behind the scenes of the making of the album, and the meaning behind the songs, as for the state of the world with war and political issues I can't really change that myself, but people like me who loves Weller's music do feel energy and change when at one of the live gig's he inspires so many of us and yet he is still so humble and that I very genuine I find ,in him as a person and in his music
I think the live performances are just the cherry on the cake of PW. He consistently get's inspired, and creates off stage when anywhere near a musical instrument. He's got two sides to him, the artist/creator and the other side; the performer, and he's brilliant at both. A true artist and a true great. I really can't think of anyone who has started so young and consistently delivered for so long. I do wonder how a young PW would have got on on Britain;s Got Talent! lol
Love the new tracks already. And his hair is looking cool as fuck again!! His dedication to his art is admirable. A musical constant pretty much unparalleled by his predecessors, peers or potential heirs. Take note kids!! This is how it's done properly.
Another superb album. Paul Weller's records are guaranteed to be top quality and never fail to move me. The greatest ever British songwriter for my money, up there with The Beatles (and that's saying something....).
Over and over he drags me into his wonderland, and I m off floating down a long long road, or meadow! Wonderful music from a wonderful man. We could do worse than follow his impossible idea of just loving each other!
This is proving to be a great album. I love the Impossible Idea, it's so joyful. Like a cousin to that wonderful Jam b-side Shopping. And releasing the tracks as instrumentals too is inspired - they really stand up on their own.
Fuckin PHENOMENAL ! ... A 170 check out of an Lp ! Forty odd years on the ciggies is payin' off ! Vocally , the man has never sounded better . If this is what packing in the booze can do fer yer an all , I may consider it !?! Who else , at 59 years of age would have the musical ambition & imagination to call Boy George in & produce a killer trippy/house track like ONE TEAR ??? Mr W has also , thoughtfully given us the Lp of the summer a month early - to bed it in fer the hot days/nights . Big love to you , Paul . Can't wait fer the next one 💥😎
Oh my god, are you for real? Except for ONE TEAR this album is crap; just like Saturns Pattern and the one before that, whatever the fuck its called. His voice is getting worse and worse, and thank your ciggies for that! Loved all his stuff until about 1988, after that he lost any and all focus.
Moses Berkowitz 'Loved his stuff' til about 1988 ??? So what , you're saying is - essentially you're not remotely qualified to have an opinion on this Lp . Why are you here ? Turn the lights off on yer way out ...
Why am I here? Because I keep hoping Paul will stop listening to berks like you who think Paul is the second coming of Jesus Christ. When an artist listens to the asskissers too much (asskisser; that's you too) he gets lazy and complacent. "The Cranes are Back"??? He sounds like a drunken old sod. Want proof? 4 months up and only 4,000 views. Now stop pushing Paul down the wrong path and demand something better. You know he's capable of it.
yep bring him back...whitey 's beats are what gave wellers earlier solo stuff , the edge , the beatier, cooler stuff.he would be all over this.. but this is groovy..
The Cranes are BAck yes indeed. Here in Canada anyways since DDT stamped them out in the 60's. They are back those majestic birds. But he may be thinking about shipping cranes,,no?
he's on radio two this week. Tracks of my years. About 11.40. little Richard and a great tune. dunno wat it was called, cant wait for tomorrow. fern cottons the d.j.
I was trying to think what The Impossible Idea reminded me of... and it turned out to be Seven Old Ladies Locked In A Lavatory... Once I can get that out of my head, it'll be a relief...
btw fun fact i was actually the one that helped set up most things eg bens kit the strings seats the mics and the most inportand thing the teas and coffees
Noel and Liam have called it out . Ian Brown having the most balls of them all . Rest are scared of being out of favour ... Hopefully Weller does NOT wear a mask - no real mod would .
Joe Jay Didnt know about Liam speaking out but I know that Noel has spoken out about not wearing muzzle & when it was mentioned with Weller was that it was shite! Yep Ian Brown actually pulled out of a potential local gig due to the promoters saying that people would have to proove that they'd the experimental "Vaccine!"
Loved the Jam, Loved the Style Council, After that, only occasional Paul Weller tracks have interested me, and really nothing in 20 years. Its getting to the point where I would rather him stop recording--he's only diluting his legacy and the impact he once had. But I listened to ONE TEAR and enjoyed it, so maybe this album will change my mind.
What ,again out because of content for children?!? By the way that's out in my choices....I probably don't get it, that's the way it goes/is ....wish you all well
The entire album is beyond awful. He hasn't produced a good album for maybe 15 years. The appalling 'Heliocentric' was the beginning of the end. This is so poor, so dismal, so discordant, that I wish he would give up songwriting.
Long Hot Summer I beg to differ. This is a decent album, with some fine songs and interesting structures. Agree that Heliocentric was awful, but the rot had set in on Heavy Soul. His best solo stuff is on Wildwood, 22 Dreams, and this new album. And Sonic Whatever was largely crap.
Bring back Talbot, White, and DC to bring the best, lyrically happily, and musically out of Weller. Stop this depressing shit. More instrumentals than Oldfield. His vocals are still there to be heard, but who wants to listen to depression.
Love how his voice has matured down through the years. The man has provided the soundtrack to my adult life.
at 19 years old I discovered the amazing music world of Paul Weller, now there's no going back :D
You’re lucky....there’s a lot to discover.....you still on it ? Jam....Style Council.....or just Weller solo.
I like the jam and weller solo, not so much the style council ☺
The man just can't stop! Great music pours out of him. I guess that's why I've been a major fan for over 35 years. Damn, has it really been that long? Keep 'em coming Paul. Peace.
He's gone somewhere else once again, legend. Will be my album for the summer.
His best ever. Big statement but as a complete album I honestly think it is his best. I can't stop playing it. Love seeing videos like this to see how it was borne and came about. The guy is a national treasure and still vastly underrated and ignored outside of the UK.
This man is so creative and driven yet extremely modest in the way he goes about his work. Fascinating.
Beautiful 😍
I really like the music Paul Weller and his band create. Thanks so much x peace and love x
Paul Weller is a music god. Saw him for the kick off to his US tour for A Kind Revolution in NYC recently and I was BLOWN away. This man's vibe is so high you can't help but get high with him in his presence! His music is better than drugs! LOL
Satellite kid ...took me straight in ,special, strong and .....love this piece ,thank you all ,take care...

Reninds me of The long and Winding Road that piano ballad. Lyrics and the breakpattern on the piano.
Saw him twice in small venues but sitting with him for a bit is on my bucket list.
Very prolific artist,in a different stratosphere altogether
@mod69 hey hey from 2020. I don't mean to be pedantic buut ....if PW is in a different stratosphere wouldn't that put him in the mesosphere?
its like the voice has hit the sweet-spot of a vintage amp.
just golden.
puts the soul in yer bones,
cheers.
Just seems in his element, great to watch and admire his humility
Love the new tracks already. And his hair is looking cool as fuck again!!
His dedication to his art is admirable. A musical constant pretty much unparalleled by his predecessors, peers or potential heirs. Take note kids!! This is how it's done properly.

Looks like a wig.
Great album. Love hopper. My favourite track. 😎🎸🎶👍🌟
This man just never rests on his laurels, always coming up with top notch songs.

A fab album love it especially ‘Long Long Road’ x
Art. Pure art
Over and over he drags me into his wonderland, and I m off floating down a long long road, or meadow! Wonderful music from a wonderful man. We could do worse than follow his impossible idea of just loving each other!
He's only gone and done it again! Love the album and it's great to see this doc to get a rough idea of how it was made.
love seeing the inner workings what a great way to earn a living either side of the desk 😎
I discovered him at 20.its true.there is no going back.why would we?
this made my night.
mine too, listened to Long Long Road first time and had a tear in my eye, wonderful
Cranes is just fantastic
The Cranes are back. Heard it the other day. Fkn immense.
This is proving to be a great album. I love the Impossible Idea, it's so joyful. Like a cousin to that wonderful Jam b-side Shopping. And releasing the tracks as instrumentals too is inspired - they really stand up on their own.
Legend
Holy wow so good. Its like beatles good
PW sounds amazing on this album and each song is A work of art imo
Fabulous.
He just gets better love it
Beautiful
Paul mentions a song called "New York", takes a couple of listens but definitely a top tune... along with Long Long Road...

Brilliant!
He's right about the Beatles.... they set the benchmark.
yep bring him back...whitey 's beats are what gave wellers earlier solo stuff , the edge , the beatier, cooler stuff.he would be all over this.. but this is groovy..
... sweet as! ... nice one Paul ... can't wait to get my hands on the CD ... :-)

Great stuff Paul..Keep working bruv....Loads of love!
Great insight into the album process and Paul's view on the tracks and the world
I was trying to think what The Impossible Idea reminded me of... and it turned out to be Seven Old Ladies Locked In A Lavatory... Once I can get that out of my head, it'll be a relief...

Loveeeeeee Man Rock,,,,,

Must see his show before I exit this life. Not enough adjectives...
I would be surprised if Weller had even heard it, but "The Impossible Idea" reminds me quite a bit of "Rapids" by The Icicle Works.
Beefheart1 I've heard it. Ian McNabb great songwriter. I agree with you.
Actually because it's in waltz time, it reminds me a bit of the old corny classic "To dream, the impossible dream" - in a good way!
Beefheart1 try listening to strange town and white bicycle by Nazareth. similar guitar riffs.
That voice, finest vocalist since Ella F. Weller is phenomenal.
long long road is fuckin brilliant. Never off radio two.
What happened with bass player Andy Lewis?
Costello's Ship Building is the best on this theme, imo. Either version, Costello or Wyatt works for me thanks to Clive Langer's arrangement.
My question is: Why are Madeline and Pat only on ONE track?
I'll buy it next pay day.😂😂
I wonder what Weller think about the virus & the lockdowns?
He just puts his mask on like all the sheep. And he will have the jab so he can go on holiday.
Noel and Liam have called it out .
Ian Brown having the most balls of them all .
Rest are scared of being out of favour ... Hopefully Weller does NOT wear a mask - no real mod would .

Ist Don Pablo still on the tabs? 🚬
Weller's light years ahead... It takes awhile for a few to catch up so forgive 'em, they're just a bit slow.
❤️
What retro Adidas trainers has he got on? I want a pair!
Look like Adidas Italia ...
from the 6ts but reissued too.
Oh! And did I mention he is an absolute, definitely, music legend... apologies Paul...
What's the piece of terrace left of ghouls blizzards

I tend to agree. It's more grooves and riffs now than proper songs.
22 Dreams was great. Some terrific stuff on that.
I have been in there
And the other one is my friends dad
Ocean Colour Scene's guitarist.
Mr Burns bdb
bdb?
Your so called remixes are so out of date needs a more late night deep house sound
Who’s the weed doing the interview? Them trousers are ‘not on’.
He is my friends god father
superluxury..,
sound that - huge shame about Chelsea flag though
What ,again out because of content for children?!? By the way that's out in my choices....I probably don't get it, that's the way it goes/is ....wish you all well
LOL LOL LOL.
Singing teacher..maybe don't smoke, whilst attempting a vocal...

what was the last weller album you listened to.....??
banlatbulldog your. depressing.

Great to see the record making process. A Kind Revolution is another brilliant evolution for Weller. Love all of his work and this is no exception.
