George Benson's "On Broadway" absolutely epic. The live version is some of the best Jazz guitar ever heard. Benson is if not the best, one of a handful of the best Jazz guitar players in history. A must listen.

I love his (the original version of) The Greatest Love of All, the orchestration, wow, plus a great message. His 'Nature Boy' is great too, has a type of Brazilian beat feel. .
He wasn’t hired on Quincy jones label as a singer but a guitarist. But he was jamming on this masquerade and sang it and he suddenly became a singer too. So glad he did cuz he has a very unique and smoother voice. My fav song by him wasn’t a top ten hit but a duet called Late at Night with Vickie Randle who also has an amazing voice. George Benson's jazz guitar playing has influenced generations of aspiring guitar players around the world for decades! Simply put, George Benson is at 81 years of age a "national treasure". 🎸

What you guys may not realize yet is that GB is also one of the greatest straight-ahead jazz guitarists of all time. He can play bebop with the best of them.
I saw George perform last year, he's almost 80 years old. He was incredible! His jazz guitar playing is brilliant, he's had loads of great hits and every girl who loved funk and soul in the 1980's adore him

I can’t believe it’s been this long ago already, but 33 years ago, I saw George Benson at the South Shore Music Circus, located in southern/cape area of Massachusetts. After the show, I got to visit with him, along with about eight or nine others, in his “green room” back stage for close to two hours. It was as phenomenal as his show!! I have a picture of him with my friend and I with him as well! He is one of the nicest men around.
At this point, if I hear an old tune that's a straight BOP, I just assume Steve Lukather has his fingers in the pie somewhere, and I've rarely been wrong haha
His performance of this song on the TV show Solid Gold in the early 1980s is still so memorable to me. Thank you Jay & Amber for taking the time to listen to this great song. :)
