Sheikh ihsan, can you talk about the concept of free will vs determinism. As you know Quran is very deterministic , however Allah(the most exalted) has also created free will.

There comes a point where words and intellect fail. Once Ali (K) was asked, "Was there ever a time when there was only Allah and nothing else?" He replied, "Yes, and so it is now." You are right in that the ego-personality ends with death, and so said the Prophet (S), "Die before you die," meaning through internal surrender to utterly silence and still the self so that it's will, it's wants, desires and demands, are no more. When no self, only Divine Presence remains. To your success! - Ihsan
The negativity in the world is a result of human consciousness. Yet the more we as a whole transcend the primitive selfish ego, and the more we become internally "purified", our world will change to reflect. Our duty as individuals is each our own personal transformation and evolution, and each life is for the purpose of growth. Simply do your best with the tests that you already have. Seek the state of happiness, which is not dependent on conditions being perfect.
i watched a video on the kabbalah and it described the cube as a box that is the ego and everything the comes into the box automatically is overridden by the ego. It is only when there becomes a need to move out of the box which comes naturally like what is described by the ice cube melting that we move forward. Very complicated at first but the two ideas to me are very similar. I am not religious but like to read centuries old wisdom from people way smarter than me.
The world needs more leaders to light, goodness and truth, by all means, pursue knowledge! For more information, visit our websites in the description beneath the video. To your divine success.
thank you, please give this topic a lot attention as the devil will use the nafs to trick humanity. the soul knows better what can it do if that soul forgets why its here and starts to identify with the nafs. I suggest a whole series on the nafs as well as other schools of thought / religions / traditions says about the nafs / ego / false self. you folks would be doing humanity a service.
Hey Slim, briefly, heaven and hell are ultimately states of consciousness, which like all things manifest physically. We can experience both of these states in this world, and each day is an opportunity to gauge where we are on the spectrum between an experience of heaven vs an experience of hell. All suffering comes from the ego-mind, and the way to Paradise is through authentic spirituality, the Path which leads beyond the self. To your success!
Yes, absolutely, we contract and fall into identification with the nafs (ego, self, mind, personality) as a result of lack of knowledge, awareness, consciousness. And so become like "ice." You rightly say that the cure is practice and constant awareness, jihad an-nafs, dhikr, meditative spiritual practice and introspection.
MASHA'ALLAH. This is good knowledge. Sometimes there are practices that works for a specific person. And meditation is a good thing. As long as it does not divert you away from ALLAH (SUBHANAWUTA'ALLAH), then take the good stuff and apply it on what you believe in like meditation and reminding one self of ALLAH (SWT) all the time. If you know your religion very well, and you understand what are the things you must only follow then you can get other knowledge that isn't against your belief.
I like your symbolism of ice and water. Just to add that the change is a change in identification. As conscious beings when we identify with the activities of mind (ideas) and the reactivity that arises in the body when we react to those ideas, there arises the personal self, the solid ice. When we surrender, we again identify as conscious being, our true spiritual nature, which is formless like water.
Excellent, very well said. May we all learn to be like water, and allow Divine Will to carry us to the Eternal Oceans of the Divine Presence. To your success in this life and beyond. www.ihsanalexander.com/blog.
Hello! The self is the illusion, the filter, through which true vision is veiled. It is the one barrier between the individual and the Creator, and when it is no longer the center of our Universe, we discover the Divine Presence, which then truly becomes the axis and focus of our experience. This is the deeper meaning of the Hajj, as well as the whirling of Rumi. Be blessed! - Ihsan
Granted, my understanding is limited in all this but I am trying to comprehend it as a whole. I don't understand how something wrong can be an illusion. Many times the deeper reality of a situation is what's concerning.
Greetings and peace, the focus of the Islamic Meditation Program deals comprehensively with the root cause of these issues and questions, please visit our website for more detailed information. Best regards. - Ihsan
Dear sister Khadeejah, "Sufism" is but the internal spiritual dimension of Islam, incumbent upon every Muslim to practice, learn and understand, and so one cannot "be" a "Sufi", but the whole, balanced and complete Muslim must practice Tazkiyya ("Sufism", Tasawwuf) in conjunction with the external practices of Fiqh and Sharia'h, for the practices without internal purification and personal excellence lose their value. Best regards.
The correct Quranic wording is Tazkiyah and it can remain at just that .non-sufi people have learnt not to agree and when a connotation is maruuf (according to urf) in a society that is understood 'negative' or used negatively or depicted negatively, one is allowed to not use that word if it is not necessary. Similar is the word tsawwuf/Sufism. this concept helped me understand a lot and made dawah easier brother. Nobody can deny Tazkiyah nor the 3 clearly-outlined levels of nafs and Ihsan (hadith Jibreel) alhamdulilah. but 'akhees' are cought up in all the movements and motions. you know what I mean exactly. May God forgive ever mumin and God accept all good out there that our people do ameen
thank you for the video. can you please do another video that goes deeper into explaining the nafs/ego and its relationship to the present moment? also, how conditioning affects the ego. many thanks
So you MUST consider all the variables in terms of Energy and fully understand them the way they were intended to be understood. The whole pie and not just a piece of it. Dont limited yourself to just one thing as Energy will make an example of it to remind you the original grand design.
Salam Brother, what is your view on after life, heaven and hell? Do you believe in judgement by Allah? When you say believe in individual souls? I have been trying to find answers to these questions from sufi perspective? I think a video regarding these could be a good idea. Thank You
"Seek the state of happiness . . . " (?) Okay, I'll tell you what I'll do. I'll trade you all my allotted happiness in this Life . . . in exchange for any Truth you might have coming to you. Is that a deal (?)
to the devine, it requires a person or energy to take on many forms [LIKE the source Energy] to carry out a common goal. Evolution of oneself. I know he meant well in term of the water. If your lie depended on that water to be solid....you would be introuble as all you have is liquid. Like a mechanic tool box one must be able to use energy in the similar way the Source Energy does to TAP into the main Source Energy
Thanks for the video explanations, I am really enjoying them. I have a few questions I often ponder and would like to get your perspective: In terms of being part of a totality, a whole, etc, how do I do that? I feel like there are so many contradictions-for example honor, generosity, and then their opposites: disgrace, cheapness-how do I make this a totality? Also related, how do I take in all of the negative energies, make sense of it, etc?
MashaAllah! Great lecture! May Allah bless the lecturer! Guys can anybody enlighten me about the meaning of Divine Presence please? As i did not understand that part.Thanks.
Blessings and peace, Ilaha, and thank you. The Divine Presence is a reference to the "Presence" of Allah Almighty, God the Eternal. His Holy Essence is absolutely transcendent, so we avoid the limitations of language and literalism by referring to His Presence rather than His Essence. Hope that helps clarify. This excerpt is a short clip from the Islamic Meditation Program, which is an in-depth course in spiritual development. To your divine and eternal success. www.islamicmeditation.com.
Ego or no ego. Bottom line our existence consist of several parts of our "Soul" persay. they are all design to be there. It's our job to work towards uniting them all into one massive productive essence of yourself. Using them all to gain a high level of evolution....and ability to identify and use what Energy has to offer people. Nice thing about it, you dont need to be Einstein to find and discover this.
u said right 100 times!!.....but after becoming water y it is changing into ice ... u know sometimes...is it due to lack of knowledge or not following islam completely ....
Hi there. I've noticed similarities in all the religions or spiritual paths in that it all talks about the nafs/ego/self and how to overcome them, or achieving union. Indeed isnt this what Perennialist Philosophy argues? But what I couldnt get my head around is why do you think this is so? Why is it necessary to break down the ego/self and why is this process essential in finding enlightenment?
A mechanic has many tools to complete and finsih a task, Energy or the devine gave that concept to man so man would understand how it functions on a nano sec by nano second of existence. Now if we were to take the same concept towards our polar caps...we would not have ice burgs with them gone...much less of the land would we see....then the earth would really start to get warmer and warmer to the point of no return...
Artistic abilities are not bad at all. No need for apologies. However, since you have had another 11 years to practice, then perhaps we should give you a pop quiz right now....😂 Jazak Allah khair
Can we make the conclusion that altimatly, seperation is an illusion and that all is God and all is one? I also wonder when in islam it talks about devils and ghosts is it like they are a physical entity out there in different dimensions? Or those things are nothing but the shadows of our own ego and subconsciousness and if they appear its only because it sees us as the door way of heaven and it wants to go back to the light of awareness through us? Also is there differences between me and the ego or they are both the same? Isnt it the ego which is trying to surrender the ego? Can one say the ego is actually helping in the death of itself? Can i also ask about how sufism looks like eveolution, are our spirit ones where something else and then evolved or we came as humanbeing ? I have heard rumi said I remember when i was a grass? Is that true? I really would love to know or better to say deseperate to know what would be a sufis insights about this?
Peace and light, Peshawa. Good questions. Will try to briefly address some of the things you mention based upon prophetic teachings and guidance as revealed through the messengers of God. Ultimately, all existence other than for Allah is illusion. Creation exists but in the Knowledge of God and has no absolute reality. Only He Almighty is the Absolute, the Real, the One. That being said, there is a oneness to creation, and the path to such oneness is the path of transcendence beyond the separate self, the "ego," or conceptual self-awareness. All things in creation are in evolution, advancing in awareness and consciousness until they reach transcendent consciousness which is the beginning of ma'rifah, gnosis, the knowledge of God. There are different dimensions and aspects to the self, and while the lower self (mind and body) seek self-preservation, the higher self (heart, soul) seeks light, and sacrifices itself with love in death to attain Truth. You would be a good candidate for the Awakenings Program (www.awakeningsprogram.com), we'd love to have you with us. To your divine and eternal success.
Salaam sister Naz. The subconscious mind is connected to the heart, and the nafs has various stages/levels of consciousness. It depends in what energetic center one's consciousness is localized and primarily driven by in any given moment: either the gut (Level 1), the mind (Level 2) or the heart (Level 3). Often when the term nafs is used, it may be simply referring to Level 1 and Level 2 State Consciousness (nafs al-ammara, nafs al-lawwama). To be specific, "nafs" simply means "self", sometimes translated as "soul." The idea of getting beyond, transcending and overcoming the nafs usually means to overcome Level 1 (gut) and Level 2 (mind) state consciousness, and allow the consciousness and light of the heart (Level 3) to predominate. Hope that helps. Much of this is discussed at length in the Eternal Warrior Way Program, www.spiritualexcellence.com/eternal-warrior-way. Blessed regards.
Asalamualaikum, Ihsan, wa Ramadan Mubarak. in regard to the nafs, and gender identity. I know sometimes a person can be born physically with a medical condition that as a side effect causes another medical condition where a person's private parts can seem to be a combination of both male and female. I understand there is a particular Fiqh about this Fiqh UL khuntha. but speaking not in the sense of a physical combination of 2 sex's, I'd like to know do yu have any advice for the struggling Muslim who is experiencing in there life that they have Gender Identity Disorder. I imagine that it could be a type of "hermaphrodism of the soul",..( not having been born with it physically).. yet the person may been born male, but has a very small/ and weak male organs, a the person looks wrather feminine in the shape of the face and body, naturally, and this person having an overwhelming sense of being not united with there own body, wrather just being in it....for this person, who ( not like the common one who may be or behave permiscuesly or suductively- this particular type I'm referring to is a actual Mu'min, having the sense of shyness, and modesty, and instead is a religious person who loves Islam, who loves to do acts of worship, but only does this in the dress of Hejab, and ya know, praying and talking to Allah seeing them self as a woman in" That" body, and sincerely believe that Allah did notake a mistake but just made this person this way for whatever reason I don't know, but, could yu advice for this situation when other Muslims from there jamaat, no longer allow this person to pray in there Mosque, and say she must behave and dress as a man, especially in public, cuz they do not believe her that what she saying is true or even possible. so now she's all alone from Muslims, no Muslims friends in person. she hopes in Allah that he allows her to get operation to became a real female, and to live a more normal life of a Muslim women like then being able to get married she hopes and to better serve Allah and his Deen. right now she feels her life is in limbo cuz the ummah is rejecting her as an outcaste, yet she's trying to persevere and keep her Deen, her Iman, and her hope n even her trust in Allah . please could you say if hermaphrodism of the soul is real? and what can a Muslim like this do, without falling into forbidden relationship with men, or even women.) again I'm talking about a transgender Muslim with G.I.D., and who respects Islam and wants to remain Muslim, not the same as a gay Muslim who is complete renegade to Allah and wants to marry with a man whole still himself being a man, or openly doing Zenaa. and who doesn't pray and all kind of disregard to Islam.
Salaam, peace and blessings be upon you and the mercy, light, guidance, grace and forgiveness of God. Regarding the fiqh of your questions, I would humbly ask you to defer to those who specialize in matters that pertain to such, as that is not my area of expertise. Regarding the spirituality of the matter, first let me say that one is to be commended with regards to honoring and respecting al-Islam and Allah Almighty, and we ask and pray for the Divine to support they who may be experiencing such challenges and hardships. Ultimately, we must transcend our physical dimension, and it may be that such a situation necessitates this. We are greater than our bodies and even our biology, and it is the light of Islam and the love of Allah Almighty and His Messenger ﷺ that can transmute the base and temporal into Divine Light. I suggest to they who find themselves in such difficulties to seek a teacher and guide, a master of alchemy, that can help them rise above the inclinations of the self, and who can help the soul awaken to the transcendent Light, Life and Love of the Divine Presence.
islamqa.info/en/4983 : Are the Sufi shaykhs really in contact with Allaah? The word “Sufism” was not known at the time of the Messenger or the Sahaabah or the Taabi’een. It arose at the time when a group of ascetics who wore wool (“soof”) emerged, and this name was given to them. It was also said that the name was taken from the word “soofiya” (“sophia”) which means “wisdom” in Greek. The word is not derived from al-safa’ (“purity”) as some of them claim, because the adjective derived from safa’ is safaa’i, not soofi (sufi). The emergence of this new name and the group to whom it is applied exacerbated the divisions among Muslims. The early Sufis differed from the later Sufis who spread bid’ah (innovation) to a greater extent and made shirk in both minor and major forms commonplace among the people, as well as the innovations against which the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) warned us when he said, “Beware of newly-invented things, for every newly-invented thing is an innovation and every innovation is a going-astray.” (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said it is saheeh hasan). The following is a comparison between the beliefs and rituals of Sufism and Islam which is based on the Qur’aan and Sunnah. Sufism has numerous branches or tareeqahs, such as the Teejaniyyah, Qaadiriyyah, Naqshbandiyyah, Shaadhiliyyah, Rifaa’iyyah, etc., the followers of which all claim that their particular tareeqah is on the path of truth whilst the others are following falsehood. Islam forbids such sectarianism. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “… and be not of al-mushrikoon (the disbelievers in the Oneness of Allaah, polytheists, idolaters, etc), Of those who split up their religion (i.e., who left the true Islamic monotheism), and became sects, [i.e., they invented new things in the religion (bid’ah) and followed their vain desires], each sect rejoicing in that which is with it.” [al-Room 30:31-32] The Sufis worship others than Allaah, such as Prophets and “awliya’” [“saints”], living or dead. They say, “Yaa Jeelaani”, “Yaa Rifaa’i” [calling on their awliya’], or “O Messenger of Allaah, help and save” or “O Messenger of Allaah, our dependence is on you”, etc. But Allaah forbids us to call on anyone except Him in matters that are beyond the person's capabilities. If a person does this, Allaah will count him as a mushrik, as He says (interpretation of the meaning): “And invoke not, besides Allaah, any that will neither profit you, nor hurt you, but if (in case) you did so, you shall certainly be one of the zaalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers).” [Yoonus 10:106] The Sufis believe that there are abdaal, aqtaab and awliya’ (kinds of “saints”) to whom Allaah has given the power to run the affairs of the universe. Allaah tells us about the mushrikeen (interpretation of the meaning): “Say [O Muhammad]: ‘…And who disposes the affairs?’ They will say. ‘Allaah.’…” [Yoonus 10:31] The mushrik Arabs knew more about Allaah than these Sufis! The Sufis turn to other than Allaah when calamity strikes, but Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And if Allaah touches you with harm, none can remove it but He, and if He touches you with good, then He is Able to do all things.” [al-An’aam 6:17] Some Sufis believe in wahdat al-wujood (unity of existence). They do not have the idea of a Creator and His creation, instead they say that everything is creation and everything is god. The Sufis advocate extreme asceticism in this life and do not believe in taking the necessary means or in jihaad, but Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “But seek with that (wealth) which Allaah has bestowed on you, the home of the Hereafter, and forget not your portion of legal enjoyment in this world…” [al-Qasas 28:77] “And make ready against them all that you can of power…” [al-Anfaal 8:60] The Sufis refer the idea of ihsaan to their shaykhs and tell their followers to have a picture of their shaykh in mind when they remember Allaah and even when they are praying. Some of them even put a picture of their shaykh in front of them when they are praying. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Ihsaan is when you worship Allaah as if you can see Him, and although you cannot see Him, He can see you.” (Reported by Muslim). The Sufis allow dancing, drums and musical instruments, and raising the voice when making dhikr, but Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “The believers are only those who, when Allaah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts…” [al-Anfaal 8:2] Moreover, you see some of them making dhikr by only pronouncing the Name of Allaah, saying, “Allaah, Allaah, Allaah.” This is bid’ah and has no meaning in Islam. They even go to the extreme of saying, “Ah, ah” or “Hu, Hu.” The Sunnah is for the Muslim to remember his Lord in words that have a true meaning for which he will be rewarded, such as saying Subhaan Allaah wa Alhamdulillah wa Laa ilaaha illa Allaah wa Allaahu akbar, and so on. The Sufis recite love poems mentioning the names of women and boys in their dhikr gatherings, and they repeat words such as “love”, “passion”, “desire” and so on, as if they are in a gathering where people dance and drink wine and clap and shout. All of this has to do with the customs and acts of worship of the mushrikeen. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Their salaah (prayer) at the House (of Allaah, i.e., the Ka’bah at Makkah) was nothing but whistling and clapping of hands…” [al-Anfaal 8:35] Some Sufis pierce themselves with rods of iron, saying, “O my grandfather!” So the shayaateen come to them and help them, because they are seeking the help of someone other than Allaah . Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allaah), We appoint for him a shaytaan (devil) to be a qareen (intimate companion) for him.” [al-Zukhruf 43:36] The Sufis claim to have gnosis and knowledge of the unseen, but the Qur’aan shows them to be liars. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Say: ‘None in the heavens and the earth knows the ghayb (unseen) except Allaah…’” [al-Naml 27:65] The Sufis claim that Allaah created the world for the sake of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), but the Qur’aan shows them to be liars. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And I (Allaah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone).” [al-Dhaariyaat 51:56] Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, addressed His Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) with the words (interpretation of the meaning): “And worship your Lord until there comes unto the certainty (i.e., death).” [al-Hijr 15:99] The Sufis claim that they can see Allaah in this life, but the Qur’aan shows them to be liars. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “[Moosa said:] ‘O my Lord! Show me (Yourself), that I may look upon You.’ Allaah said, ‘You cannot see Me…’” [al-A’raaf 7:143] The Sufis claim that they take knowledge directly from Allaah, without the mediation of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and in a conscious state (as opposed to dreams). So are they better than the Sahaabah?? The Sufis claim that they take knowledge directly from Allaah, without the mediation of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). They say, “Haddathani qalbi ‘an Rabbi (My heart told me from my Lord).” The Sufis celebrate Mawlid and hold gatherings for sending blessings on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), but they go against his teachings by raising their voices in dhikr and anaasheed (religious songs) and qaseedahs (poems) that contain blatant shirk. Did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) celebrate his birthday? Did Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, ‘Uthman, ‘Ali, the four imaams or anyone else celebrate his birthday? Who knows more and is more correct in worship, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the Salaf, or the Sufis? The Sufis travel to visit graves and seek blessings from their occupants or to make tawaaf (ritual circumambulation) around them or to make sacrifices at these sites, all of which goes against the teachings of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Do not travel to visit any place but three mosques: al-Masjid al-Haraam [in Makkah], this mosque of mine [in Madeenah] and al-Masjid al-Aqsa [in Jerusalem].” (Agreed upon).....
Muslims On The Haq Agreed with every explanation of yours! Sufism is contradictory, but you know what? we can simply take the good (the "good" according to Quran and Sunnah) and avoid the bad (the "bad" according to Quran and Sunnah)! Sufism will help us to control our nafs and purify our souls, which is VERY VERY IMPORTANT in order to become a good Muslim! Other than that, if you feel like spinning/dancing/singing is contradictory, then I totally agree with you! And trust me, you don't have to do all these in order to become a good Muslim/purify your soul/ surrender to Allah! ( which is the main purpose of Sufism)
Muslims On The Haq AHL AS-SUFFA the people of the bench.HASAN BASRI ra born in 20 ah was a SUFI raised in the houses of two of the wife's of Muhammad saw taught by the companions of Muhammad saw in his writing he said he met a older??SUFI?going around the KA'BA he tried to give him money but he refused..

There comes a point where words and intellect fail. Once Ali (K) was asked, "Was there ever a time when there was only Allah and nothing else?" He replied, "Yes, and so it is now." i watched a video on the kabbalah and it described the cube as a box that is the ego and everything the comes into the box automatically is overridden by the ego. It is only when there becomes a need to move out of the box which comes naturally like what is described by the ice cube melting that we move forward. Very complicated at first but the two ideas to me are very similar. I am not religious but like to read centuries old wisdom from people way smarter than me.

A very nice explanation. Thank you for sharing.
your choice of word ;dissolve the ego; is really nicely put forward. thank you sir
Thank you Brother
what briliant explanation.realy great
thank you, please give this topic a lot attention as the devil will use the nafs to trick humanity. the soul knows better what can it do if that soul forgets why its here and starts to identify with the nafs.
Perfect explanation!
Elhamdulillah great explanation
Yes, absolutely, we contract and fall into identification with the nafs (ego, self, mind, personality) as a result of lack of knowledge, awareness, consciousness. And so become like "ice." You rightly say that the cure is practice and constant awareness, jihad an-nafs, dhikr, meditative spiritual practice and introspection.
thank good way to look at it
MASHA'ALLAH.
May Allah reward you for explaining !!
Excellent.

Be blessed! - Ihsan
And as your happiness increases, your conditions will improve. - Ihsan
All happens as you live here in this world
Granted, my understanding is limited in all this but I am trying to comprehend it as a whole. I don't understand how something wrong can be an illusion. Many times the deeper reality of a situation is what's concerning.
awesomre
Please, not offensive language on comments, thanks!
Any video to explain drawings about how to meditate muraqabah , ihsan etc
💞
Salam Brother, what is your view on after life, heaven and hell? Do you believe in judgement by Allah? When you say believe in individual souls? I have been trying to find answers to these questions from sufi perspective? I think a video regarding these could be a good idea. Thank You
"Seek the state of happiness . . . " (?)
Okay, I'll tell you what I'll do.
Mr ihsan torabi pls upload more videos on contemporary topics
Thanks for the video explanations, I am really enjoying them.
I have a few questions I often ponder and would like to get your perspective: In terms of being part of a totality, a whole, etc, how do I do that? I feel like there are so many contradictions-for example honor, generosity, and then their opposites: disgrace, cheapness-how do I make this a totality? Also related, how do I take in all of the negative energies, make sense of it, etc?
Do some people not know this and this is why it's taught. And others know naturally
Good metaphor- ice needing to become itself in the water. What happens when a thirsty dog drinks the water in the cup?😅
sorry, I meant to write do you believe in individual souls?
Thank you very much for the answer and the website brother Ihsan! I will watch your other lectures as well inshaAllah.May Allah SWT grant you Jannah!
How to surrender to god.... And obey my duty which God has give me... Like taking care of the financial health of my family
Thanks for the comment! For more detailed directions on meditation, please visit the link in the description above. To your success! - Ihsan
Nice thing about it, you dont need to be Einstein to find and discover this.
i guess my ice cube is quite big
u said right 100 times!!.....but after becoming water y it is changing into ice ... u know sometimes...is it due to lack of knowledge or not following islam completely ....
What u mean by surrendering ?? do u mean letting the ego or thoughts be as they are with out judgement ?? not resisting the thoughts ??
Let it melt ;-)
Artistic abilities are not bad at all. No need for apologies. However, since you have had another 11 years to practice, then perhaps we should give you a pop quiz right now....😂 Jazak Allah khair
mashaAllah bro this is soo good. Deserves a billion and a half more views. (see what I did there :P ? lol)
Is nafs the subconscious mind?
Saffiyeh Jaffer U on the wrong page.
Dissolving the ego by which substances?
Islamic Tasawwuf is Vedanta (Hinduism and Bhuddism) minus the innovation (bida).
islamqa.info/en/4983 : Are the Sufi shaykhs really in contact with Allaah?
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“… and be not of al-mushrikoon (the disbelievers in the Oneness of Allaah, polytheists, idolaters, etc),
Of those who split up their religion (i.e., who left the true Islamic monotheism), and became sects, [i.e., they invented new things in the religion (bid’ah) and followed their vain desires], each sect rejoicing in that which is with it.” [al-Room 30:31-32]
The Sufis worship others than Allaah, such as Prophets and “awliya’” [“saints”], living or dead.
If a person does this, Allaah will count him as a mushrik, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And invoke not, besides Allaah, any that will neither profit you, nor hurt you, but if (in case) you did so, you shall certainly be one of the zaalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers).” [Yoonus 10:106]
The Sufis believe that there are abdaal, aqtaab and awliya’ (kinds of “saints”) to whom Allaah has given the power to run the affairs of the universe. Allaah tells us about the mushrikeen (interpretation of the meaning):
“Say [O Muhammad]: ‘…And who disposes the affairs?’ They will say. ‘Allaah.’…” [Yoonus 10:31]
The mushrik Arabs knew more about Allaah than these Sufis!
The Sufis turn to other than Allaah when calamity strikes, but Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And if Allaah touches you with harm, none can remove it but He, and if He touches you with good, then He is Able to do all things.” [al-An’aam 6:17]
Some Sufis believe in wahdat al-wujood (unity of existence). They do not have the idea of a Creator and His creation, instead they say that everything is creation and everything is god.
The Sufis advocate extreme asceticism in this life and do not believe in taking the necessary means or in jihaad, but Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“But seek with that (wealth) which Allaah has bestowed on you, the home of the Hereafter, and forget not your portion of legal enjoyment in this world…” [al-Qasas 28:77]
“And make ready against them all that you can of power…” [al-Anfaal 8:60]
The Sufis refer the idea of ihsaan to their shaykhs and tell their followers to have a picture of their shaykh in mind when they remember Allaah and even when they are praying. Some of them even put a picture of their shaykh in front of them when they are praying. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Ihsaan is when you worship Allaah as if you can see Him, and although you cannot see Him, He can see you.” (Reported by Muslim).
The Sufis allow dancing, drums and musical instruments, and raising the voice when making dhikr, but Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“The believers are only those who, when Allaah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts…” [al-Anfaal 8:2]
Moreover, you see some of them making dhikr by only pronouncing the Name of Allaah, saying, “Allaah, Allaah, Allaah.” This is bid’ah and has no meaning in Islam.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Their salaah (prayer) at the House (of Allaah, i.e., the Ka’bah at Makkah) was nothing but whistling and clapping of hands…”
[al-Anfaal 8:35]
Some Sufis pierce themselves with rods of iron, saying, “O my grandfather!” So the shayaateen come to them and help them, because they are seeking the help of someone other than Allaah . Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allaah), We appoint for him a shaytaan (devil) to be a qareen (intimate companion) for him.”
[al-Zukhruf 43:36]
The Sufis claim to have gnosis and knowledge of the unseen, but the Qur’aan shows them to be liars. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Say: ‘None in the heavens and the earth knows the ghayb (unseen) except Allaah…’” [al-Naml 27:65]
The Sufis claim that Allaah created the world for the sake of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), but the Qur’aan shows them to be liars. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And I (Allaah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone).” [al-Dhaariyaat 51:56]
Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, addressed His Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) with the words (interpretation of the meaning):
“And worship your Lord until there comes unto the certainty (i.e., death).” [al-Hijr 15:99]
The Sufis claim that they can see Allaah in this life, but the Qur’aan shows them to be liars. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“[Moosa said:] ‘O my Lord! Show me (Yourself), that I may look upon You.’ Allaah said, ‘You cannot see Me…’” [al-A’raaf 7:143]
The Sufis claim that they take knowledge directly from Allaah, without the mediation of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and in a conscious state (as opposed to dreams). So are they better than the Sahaabah??
The Sufis claim that they take knowledge directly from Allaah, without the mediation of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). They say, “Haddathani qalbi ‘an Rabbi (My heart told me from my Lord).”
The Sufis celebrate Mawlid and hold gatherings for sending blessings on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), but they go against his teachings by raising their voices in dhikr and anaasheed (religious songs) and qaseedahs (poems) that contain blatant shirk.
