This mission broke me when i first played it, as soon as i saw the title i had a since of dread that we were gonna lose someone and sure enough we did R.I.P Vic
Ya know what I just realized with the release of Vanguard they wanted to do 'Special Forces' in WW2. When quite literally present day Canadian and American Special Forces trace their roots back to the Devils Brigade or 1st Special Service Force. Ripe opportunity for them to cover that in a main stream tittle about underrated piece of history but what can you expect from them at this point if they can't achieve the simplest of necessities for a WW2 shooter.
@@military2737 That's something we should not forget, because this people are heroes, like is your gramp. History must be as it is and must be reminded.
Vanguard being a WW2 title and tying into the black ops universe was unnecessary considering we already have WaW. It would've made sense to expand upon WaW as opposed to making an entirely new WW2 title. Vanguard was completely unneeded.
@@verngezz This is my personal opinion but it's also unbiased. I always give every cod a chance and go through it numerous times before making up my mind on it. Imo, it's not terrible but not great. It's average. Campaign per se, it's still worth going through. However, it is a bit unnecessary in the storyline. It's become apparent they care more about tying every cod together as opposed to a concrete logical timeline. In conclusion, Vanguard isn't the worst entry but compared to some of the most beloved cods, it's disappointing that the quality can't ever stay steady. It's good enough to be exact, don't expect to be mind-blown. Zombies isn't good. The multiplayer is standard, but fun and has some slight moments of nostalgia of WaW.
One of the greatest CODs I ever had the honor of playing. Not as authentic as the original COD or gritty as WAW, but the game captures the Brothers in Arms essence that made the characters likeable and memorable.
One of the best Call of Duty games made along side the other early WW2 ones. You should watch the behind the scenes of them making this game that was back when they cared about historical accuracy.
11:08 just like real life, no time to question it. Just.... gone. No need to come to terms with what’s happened you’re already dead, ain’t war terrifying. Also it’s hard to like modern games when the standards where set so high with games like the big red one. Don’t make them like they used to I think the last really great Cod was Black ops and lost it after bo2 (bo2 being great).
Hey AFGuides, can you play Finest Hour again? Specifically the part of Tanya Pavelovna section (or like the the entire game again). Just to take out the taste of Vanguard Btw more older cod vids to relive my childhood again (like this, Big Red One)
This game has a better story than Vanguard. Wasn't as great as the original COD nor gritty as COD WAW, but never the less kept close to what made WW2 Stories close to home.
It's a big loss for the whole squad Is a big loss for you and me But we keep fighting forward because No Mission Too Difficult,No Sacrifice Too Great,Duty First
If COD was going to insist on being a yearly release, I'd have preferred if it focused on the stories of a single unit like this. Makes you feel much more for the characters. And for the multiplayer normies, why dont Activision just add current campaign-specific stuff on top of the MP from the past game and rebalance? Ghosts had neat ass mechanics like that rappelling thing and the dog but a threadbare amount went over to multiplayer. SP and MP are such different beasts it's annoying.
Finest Hour, Big Red One, CoD2 and 3 plus the original MW series are the best Call of Duty games IMO. These all need to be completely remastered using the graphics that r now being used for these new joke CoD games
When I first saw this I said that the Italian Army didn't look like what I expected, I always expected them to look like Blackshirts with Stahlhelms carrying MP40s and Steilhandgrenaten.

From what I could tell, his name's Roger. Yes, Roger, that's his surname. I dunno about his forename. He also has a brother named "Stretch" Roger, who serves in the Air Force as a bomber crewman.
Roland Roger is his name he is the guy on the front of the game’s box art holding the Thompson. He was a private, then Corporal and finally Sergeant by the end of the game. He served in Fox company of the Big Red One from Africa, through Italy and into France, Belgium and finally Germany. His younger brother’s name is Stretch Roger who was a bombardier in the Army Air Force and you play as him in the mission Liberators.
This game was the shit. Personally I think either this one or the Call of Duty 2 were the best COD games. I know it's fashionable to shit on the later games but yeah, the quality has gone way down. I always feel like the cod games now are made by a bunch of 12 year olds.
These were the glory days for campaigns. You really felt like you were a part of the squad. When something bad happened to one of those guys, I cried.

R.I.P Vic
And the sad music too
Vic's death really bummed me out. He was my favorite character in the squad.
This mission on sicily in Italy is impressive. This is how could looks like cancelled Call of Duty game The Devils Brigade.
My gramp was in the devils brigade

Far more better than vanguard campaign

Obviously it’s better
How was Vanguard? I just bought it
@@verngezz it's a one time game. You play it you finish the campaign and you never looked back.

Love it when CoD is *Historically Accurate*
One of the greatest CODs I ever had the honor of playing. Not as authentic as the original COD or gritty as WAW, but the game captures the Brothers in Arms essence that made the characters likeable and memorable.
Finest hour and big red one were the only cods I thought were excellent.

I wish they will remaster this game it would be awesome!
Unfortunately they would find a way to ruin it. Unless the remaster was exactly the same just with better graphics and mechanics.
