Update! I am not sure when it happened but there was an update which dramatically improves the framerates. It's a big difference. Unfortunately, we still have that lame splash window that prompts you to log in twice. but I am definitely happy with the framerate improvement.
Got it on the Nintendo Switch. Aside from the graphic improvement and the soundtrack, the game is a massive downgrade on everything else. Somehow, the game will always crash after changing modes (i.e.: you're done with the Campaign Mode and want to change to Tournament Mode, the game will crash). Fortunately, I haven't experienced framerate issues as some other players may have suffered. Also, the Online Challenges were badly programmed. Just to put an example, in the last challenge of this current week, someone forgot to put the limit time correctly. That means that you have to complete the track in less than 00:00.00, making it literally impossible to complete. I'm not asking for patches or whatsoever, but to put at least some effort in the Switch port.
Me and my sis loved the first one on PS4 (Forgot I had it from PS+ but officially bought it with the Senna bundle some PS sale ago). Loved the art style they went with, sure some stages were hard on the eyes but it was a ton of fun. Horizon Chase 2….. I preferred the style of the first over the more detailed look of this one but it’s not a con for me. Couldn’t believe this game crashed on me, which honestly was a first time on the Switch to ever happen to me lol. The dreadful Epic account ad, not once but twice…. I do have an Epic account which I signed in so I don’t have to deal with that nonsense. But for anyone that doesn’t or want to, yeah it’s a deal breaker. Overall, I’m enjoying the game. Idk if it’s just me but it felt smoother playing the first game on PS4 while this one felt like I was playing a mobile game, which I understand Switch is weak in terms of specs compared to a modern mobile device. Idk if this makes any sense tho 😂
It's not you, the first one definitely felt much smoother (played it on switch btw). It also never crashed on me and this one has crashed like 5 times already, one time just when I got the first place 😢
So, the reason why the Epic Account thing has been added is that Epic bought AQUIRIS, so I am pretty sure they're not gonna remove thay as I bet Epic told them to have that in. As for the graphics and framerate, you can totally see the jaggies on the models and and the popups from the background. My guess is that thet moved to Unreal Engine 4, which makes sense to why the Switch version is struggling.
Yea, I figured Epic purchased Aquiris. I think Epic is making a mistake here. It's not wise to annoy a group of gamers. Videos like this will surface and will eventually push folks away. I believe a better design choice, would have been to offer it near the options versus have the pop up tell you that HAVE to have an account. Yea, it sucks because the original Horizon Chase is running super smooth. Mario Kart is another racing game that runs buttery smooth. So many games run at 60 fps on the Switch so you would think studios would have had this problems solved seeing how the console is 6-7 years old. Had it been the first year, it makes sense, but not on the 7th years. Consoles games usually get better with time.
As a console owner I was neutral to the Epic discussion but god damn is it an immediate cancer to see a "LOG IN TO EPIC ACCOUNT OR DO NOT PROCEED TO YOUR SINGLE PLAYER OFFLINE GAME" prompt at the start of a game I purchased for good money.
Got it on PC and it seems that there`s not that problem with the framerate. Really like it ... and btw ... the studio IS Epic Games now since Aquiris becoming Epic Games Brasil!
Pretty annoyed with this one. Grotty resolution and shakey when lots of building on screen on the switch. Plus the button labels all say “rb” and various other minor bugs. The icing on the cake is the awful epic games account nonsense. They need to sort this out.
I regret my purchase so damn much only because the first, pre-Epic game was a wonderful product full of dedication and technical expertise. We may have been tricked into purchasing, but hopefully we can warn others not to make the same mistake.
I'm also waiting to see if a patch can fix this. I have noticed a few games receive patches after a month or two and it usually resolves frame rates. Fingers crossed!
I don’t care about the higher detail, in fact I much prefer the cleaner lines and buttery smoothness of the original. Everything looks pixelated in the sequel. So far this is a total disappointment but it did give me the motivation to go back to the original and 100% the world tour. This one is like a shovelware clone in comparison
@@kaznius2220 It is. I was pretty excited for this one. Never enough quality ardcade racers out there. Oh well. I still have Slipstream and Hotshots Racing etc.

Thanks for the warning about the framerate on the Switch version, a deal-breaker IMO. Anyone know if the PC version on Epic Games Store is smoother?
Yea, most likely. I also wonder if a patch will correct this. Quite a few games have received similar patches a month or two after launch.

3:05 Sir, Epic games own the Aquirys Studio now, sadly.
So the EG ad is mandatory and will not be removed.

Never seen the account reuirement on PC btw but great game
I have a feeling this will be coming to PlayStation and Xbox soon; they did the first one so... yeah

I'll wait for the Xbox version. Switch has never been able to handle UE4
It's maybe a patch or two away from greatness..... Does need a frame lock/upgrade.
Oh an Epic account beg at the beginning? That's a big nope for me then.
Yea, and they ask it twice. I'll update the comments if I see an update. bummer.
