I realized the reason I kept needing to reset my TCU was because I constantly drive in Sport + even when it's not necessary. When you drive regularly through neighborhoods in sport plus mode it thinks you that's how you want to drive when you get on the freeway. To remedy this, try to remember to only use Sport + when you really want to go crazy but when you exit the freeway take it back down to comfort mode...

Great selection of videos with some very interesting tips, I’ve followed up on a lot of the cosmetic Mods you mentioned ! wanted to ask have you ever considered getting a stage 1 ECU remap? I’m considering getting my W205 C200 and would love it hear if you have any thoughts on it.
Good Video, I am gonna to have a used 2019 A class, just worry about how to reset the ECU in order to clean up the saved pre owner driving habit. and now I know how to do it.
Thanks for your great videos and content. Your enthusiasm (like the cars exhaust note) comes through loud and clear! Plus, in some small way has convinced me to go for a C43. I'm picking up my 2017 coupe tomorrow. Somewhat excited, to say the least!
I have a 2015 (W205) C200 as a daily driver, so not really sure this video is for me, but I do have a 2023 Porsche Macan S with a twin turbo V6 and PDK transmission as my "fun car". The only advice I'd give anyone is don't push your car cold. Not sure if the C43 has an oil temp gauge, but if so, get your oil up to temperature (not just your coolant) before putting your boot into it :)
For people with their regular Mercedes Benz and maybe Angie's I don't really know if you turn off the traction control just the one where it turns off the ESP and I allows you to accelerate out of the corners quicker because with the ESP on it'll just Reduce the power and won't let you accelerate out of the corners so that's why you have the option to turn it off.
Hey Holden, ESP will only kick in if the car is loosing control so It only really slows you down If your driving a rear wheel drive Mercedes and are launching the car in the rain for example. In terms of going round bends unless It's in very wet driving conditions the ESP won't engage so It won't slow you down around bends. Beware turning it off as you may loose control if accreting out of bends too fast in the rain or slippery conditions.
My God!! It really worked.. Its like my car is New again. I started of with sport and drove like a formula 1 driver I hope it stays that way. Will see tomorrow. But I can tell you.. it shifts way better then before. A250 bought it a while ago i always find that the transmission was not my style. After doing this shifting is like new
Thanks for a video, it’s very helpful, I have a different question, I have CLA AMG 45 imported from South Korea in Europe, how to download Europe Navi maps ? I don’t know how to downloaded ! Thanks you !
First and foremost awesome stuff... I bought a 2018 amg c43 coupe getting it delivered on the 25th... been watching your videos everyday in anxiousness lol. Is there an indication that the tcu has been reset??
Thank you! That’s very exciting bet you can’t wait! There’s no indication on the TCU to let you know so it’s a bit blind but definitely works if you follow the steps carefully. Wish you all the best! Enjoy the lovely car when it arrives! 😁
I have the opposite issue on my SLK 350. It keeps overreving when I want to change up to the next gear occasionally. Ive tried the gearbox reset like you showed but don’t think it did anything. What do you think could be the issue?
Hi Adam great vid!! So basically the steps are: 1. Turn key to 2nd on position (cluster lights turn on) 2. Hold down gas pedal for at least 10 secs 3. Turn key to off position (cluster lights turn off) 4. Hold down gas pedal for additional 10 secs at least. 5. Let go of gas pedal. 6. Start car and drive round for 15-20 mins so the adaptive gearbox can relearn the way I drive. Is this correct?
After step 4 just open your driver door. An close it. An sit inside. Dont lock the doors. Wait 2-5 minute. You will hear the reset. In my e63 the 3d boxes just open an closes everytime when i reset the tcu :) and also you will hear the gear box reset visualy.
I did this on my c220 Coupe when I brought it from Mercedes - I thought they would have done this as standard but I guess not. BTW love the auto blurring speedometer - if it was an option I suppose it would be called Blur Matic 🤔
when you do this reset, should you do the next drive in Sport+ only? What if i do the reset and do it in comfort? I drive like a "looney" in comfort the most.
It doesn’t matter which you do first. After a reset comfort mode will start learning as you drive around in comfort mode. Then same with Sport+ they will individually change and adapt to your driving in each.
@@ABAUTOAMG Thanks for your quick response. Do you know if there's a search facility or website where I can find out exactly what specs my car has? (I bought it privately). I spoke to a guy last week who said he thought there was a site where I could enter my VIN number to find out exactly what the car has. e.g. it seems to only have 2 drive modes - ECO and Sports .. but it does have paddles. Can I assume that there is no Manual Mode and therefore the paddles won't work? Is there any other way to find out the exact specs other than by trial and error with the buttons and owners manual?
Hi Grant. I'm not sure myself but there might be something but I'd imagine it would be through Mercedes themselves. The car should of come with a spec sheet. Often this will be kept with the service history documents etc so if the previous owners has been good with their documents you may have these. Worth a look!
Question, when resetting the TCU, do we need to do this for each drive mode? Or if we need to reset only 1 specific drive mode, do we immediately put the car into that drive mode when "training" the TCU of our driving habit? Or will each drive mode automatically get trained based on our driving? Meaning the Eco mode, sport mode, comfort mode, etc..?
Hey Bernie, once you reset the TCU each drive mode resets and will automatically get trained based on your driving. So if you drive carefully in sport+ but crazy in comfort you would have a more sporty comfort mode and a more tame sport+. So you can train up each mode independently :)
Sorry Bernie 7mpowerds reply made this one pop up. I must of missed it a year ago! :( Always trying to reply to everyone but sometimes I miss a message. That’s exactly right, drive for around 15 mins in each mode. Did you manage to do this in the end? I hope it’s all going ok! Thanks 7mpowerd for bumping this comment :)
Great video and awesome car! Picking up my 2018 C43 coupe tomorrow and I can't wait! It does have the older key fob, will this procedure work the same way as you described?
Thanks Gerry! Thats exciting! Yep should all work. With the older key fob the method was the same but instead you remove the stop start button (it jusr clicks on and off) then you turn the key to the on position without the brake etc rather than press the button. That being said I think both methods work but im not 100% sure.
Hi mate, very informative video but I am a little bit confused with the button pressing level. I have a Mercedes W213, E class 2017 If I press the start button once, it displays the Mercedes car and logo only, then the second press brings all emergency lights and the third press makes the display off totally. That is why many guys are confused with the button levels. I do appreciate your reply. Regards
Hi Mate, Happy to help. It should turn the screen off on the second press, perhaps it's a bit different in the Eclass. You could try on the second button press to press it twice, in that stage everything screen etc is meant to be off. I will look into this further for you though and see what I can find.
@@ABAUTOAMG Thanks I'm having troubles with my Eclass too and the technical support from Merc isn't helping too, it would be nice if you can confirm the steps again since I couldn't here any confirmation beeps after that 2 mins..
Do you have to reset it just once or every time you go for a drive? I have a a220 2021 and I'm curious if it might make a difference since I drive at normal speed all the time.
I'd just reset it the one time then let it adapt to your driving style if you often drive normally/less sporty. You may find your TCU is already set to your drive style if that's the case.
Great video. Collecting mine soon. Ive read about a breaking in period of 1000 miles and advised not to use sport plus or race or rpm blah blah. Do you know anything about this? If this is so and advised then should the tcu reset should be done at 1000 miles?
Thanks for the advice. I guess if i leave it out for sport for the first 1000 then first time activating it will kind of do the same thing if I put it through its paces after 1k
@@chrislennon7603 Yep! There will be a bit about it in the manual but basically you just need to keep the rpms lower while running it in. You dont need to go too slow or anything just watch out for going high near the red etc. Sport+ liked to push to the red line that's why it's advised not to use at first.
Is this the same we need to do on the E 43 as well, after they updated my ECU , my pops and bangs are completely gone, i did a complaint to MB and they seem to no care about it, i have a 2018 E 43 AMG. Can any one help pls!
Hi Tee, This all depends on how you drive it. eco will always give you best mpg but it's a bit boring sitting in eco, I only use eco if I'm low on fuel myself. If you have the diesel I wouldn't worry too much it's pretty good fuel wise in all drive modes.
Hi Adam Great video like always Merry Christmas everyone. I have question My C43 coupe 2019 model facelift had 2 services so far and the third due in May. I noticed in the last few months the performance exhaust became quieter lately 5600 km on the clock, yes I drive it on weekends only and I use shell v power 98 octane. I put it in sport plus and M mode 2nd gear until red light and take foot off accelerator with some good pops but not consistently as it used to be. Have you had a similar issue? Do you think the dealer at the service updated something without telling me? I still can hear pops and bangs but not as frequently and not as loud as it used to be…. I’m really annoyed and have no idea as to why this has happened…. Thank you for your input in advance Do you think if I reset the TCU like you showed in the video will improve the exhaust note? And yes I have performance exhaust Bought brand new from factory and has all options possible including seat ventilation and energising comfort performance seats and steering and performance exhaust the comes with the ergonomic package I live in Australia Cheers
Hi Sam, Sorry to hear this you are not the first person that has asked about this. It’s worth trying a tcu reset but it may not fix it as it’s more the behaviour of the gears that will change. I’m not 100% sure on this one but a viewer once told me they had this issue and it turned out to be something to do with the opf being clogged up/needing replacing. I’m not sure on this but if your car has the opf it may be worth exploring. I never had issues like this with my C43 but I did find it did much less pops and crackles during the colder months, at least while the engine is cold. Another thought would be it may need a longer drive every now and then if your only driving it on the weekend. Real tricky one to diagnose, I hope you get to the bottom of it.
@@ABAUTOAMG thanks for your prompt reply. My car is same as yours 2019 facelift but mine is coupe. Does yours have an OPF? If your has one means mine has one. Please let me know and after the Christmas break I will contact my dealer. I can’t thank you enough for your kindness mate
Facelifted model it has two resonator updated, kindly check and confirm it. While pre facelift model only has one.it will make more popping sound ,I think you can just change it without anything happen but better sound.
@@Mrhukaka88 can you please explain? Change what?? And who can make change? I took it to dealer, they said it’s a government regulation to reduce emission and noise I’m devastated as I bought the car for its noise and specs….
Hey Sam, really sorry I had so many comments I did not see your last reply till it popped up again today. My car does have an opf filter. Here’s a video I filmed driving a c43 with and without the opf to compare sounds. The old ones are louder but it should still sound great and pop and bang even with the opf. Here’s the video of the two back to back ua-cam.com/video/sezKhK2ZFPA/v-deo.html
I'd say the digital dials since the AMG screens are great and have lots of menus would be a must have for me personally in a 2021. The top end headlights are also important to have, really helps those night or dark drives.
Hey, does your car have the optional AMG performance exhaust? (If you have it there will be an exhaust button in the center console). This is a factory optional extra that gives you all the extra pops etc in sport+.
Hey Mate, thanks! It won't increase performance numbers it will just make the gearbox more dramatic, hard and respond quicker as a result though it will feel quicker and be even more fun! :)
I feel like my 2019 c43 amg didnt come with amg performance exhaust.. if thats even a thing. I would assume that should be standard but idk. Bought it used and I cant even imagine it sounding anywhere near as good as this 🤯
Do you have an exhaust button in the center console buttons? The exhaust was an optional extra so there's a lot of cars that don't have it. Best way to check is if you have the button. If you don't have the button it means you have the standard exhaust sadly.
No major mods here just painted calliper’s :) The TCU reset is still worth a try. It’s going to make the gears more aggrieved even without the AMG Performance Exhaust :)
Does it have separate memory for different modes? So if I drive like a manic in sport mode and like a granny in comfort mode….will it learn each of those separately.
would you recommend resetting TCU following the "break-in" period? I've been following the recommendations religiously and just waiting until I can finally switch to sport+ mode but this means i've been driving like my grandma haha
Hey Totoro, Ah I know the feeling! It’s so hard not to resist flooring it when breaking in the engine. Since each drive mode learns independently you will find your comfort mode is nice and chilled from the break in but if you haven’t used sport+ yet it will be ready to learn so you may not need to reset the TCU. Unless you want a sportier comfort mode of course! :)
Hey, Adam. quick question. I love the sound of my '17 C43 but sadly after a MB dealer system update pops and crackles from exhaust were gone. I've tried the TCU reset but nothing happened yet. Do you know of any other way to recover pops and crackles typical from the C43? I currently barely have some burbles every once in a while rev. down from 3000rpm/ Thanks in advance!
Hey Alex, sorry to hear that :( this never happened to mine but a few have reported this such a shame. Since your car is now out of warranty you should look into a ‘burble’ tune. Should be plenty of tuners that could do this which I think will give you even more crackles than you had before. I don’t have much experience with this myself so one to do some research on but may be exactly what you are looking for.
Hi, Many thanks for the videos...really interesting. I have a 2017 having a Stage 1 ECU remap....will the above process mess up with my tune or does it affect only the TCU?
Hey Rajiv, I think it depends on the remap. If the remap includes how the TCU works which it may do then I’d avoid resetting it just in case. I’d play it safe and avoid doing this on your remap.
@@rajivappiah7713 Eurocharged did mine as well I just spoke with them. They told me to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery over night and it would reset the adaptations. I also asked if resetting the TCU would effect the tune and they said no....
Hey, It will certainly be more fun and feel faster going from 0-60 with the extra drama and response but if I'm honest it's not likely to increase the actual 0-60. I did a test a while back timing 0-60 in every drive mode and even though sport+ felt way faster due to all the drama and fun it actually timed the same as comfort mode. Still though if it feels faster that's a great thing!
My A class w177 gets stuck in gear when I put my foot down, if I then brake and rev the car then changed gears and accelerates. Could this fix it? Or does this sound like another problem
@@ABAUTOAMG thank you. For the w177, it’s a keyless. So do I press the start button once or twice? Twice brings all the lights on the dashboard, once just starts the mbux system.
Hey Adam! Been loving my new 2019 C43 coupe over the past few days! I just have a few questions that I thought maybe you would be able to answer as a previous owner? - the car doesn't seem to remember the previous driving mode you were in where you start the car later? This was the case with my previous GLA. - is there a way to not have that seat belt warning every time we start the car? - can you confirm that year had an emotion start enabled or was it only post 2019? For some reason I feel like it's louder with the right paddle than with the left paddle, which is strange lol. thanks!
@@ErwanYTube Hey! Big congrats! Great to hear your enjoying it. 1. It always starts in comfort mode sadly. If you want to start it up in sport+ for a louder start you can press the button once without the brakes to turn the systems on then put it into sport+. 2. I don’t think you can turn it off without coding. 3. I believe it was introduced to the C63 in 2019 then it was not added to the C43 till 2020.
actually you can have the emotion start on S+ with latest ECU update from dealer (my one is 17 and didn't have emotion start, after latest ECU update now it has it) :)
@@kristiyanpetrov188 do you mean the emotion start with the paddles, or via the start button with foot off first? (I can already do the later on my 2019, but not the former).
Hi Adam! Great video and to be honest I like all of your videos, so keep up the good work!!! But here's a question, can you do a similar thing to the ECU? is the ECU affected by your driving style and so can you reset it? If yes, how?
Hey Andrei, thanks! I'm glad you are enjoying the vids. To be honest I tend not to touch the ECU. I've heard people have had to clear theres to remove fault codes etc but generally I don't think there's many benefits.
The TSU reset, works per mode meaning, you need to drive like a lunatic on Sport+, then on Sport, then on Comfort? 15m each Or just in any mode for 15m, and affects all mode the same?
I believe this will reset profiles for all drive modes then each will adapt so I would just do the drive in sport+ then let comfort adapt naturally after.
Hi, When I drive my PROGRESSIVE GLA200 2021 on eco mode, the instrument cluster sometimes displays the letter D instead of the gear number as usual in the other driving modes. This happens especially when I release the acceleration pedal... do you know what that means?
Hi, This when glide most activates. Mercedes have a good write up of it here moba.i.daimler.com/baixn/cars/238.3_audio_2016/en_GB/page/ID_30a504fc0ae5e903354ae36562f37f30-9a5057c10ae5e903354ae3652fefacd3-en-GB.html#

Hi, I've got a '19 CLS53. I may have a few more hp but I think you have the power to weight ratio advantage. Anyway, I would like to try your method of resetting the TCU. Have you got the steps written down by any chance?
Hi John CLS53 is a great car, Lovely interior too! This should work exactly the same as mine to reset. No probs il do a quick write up for you now. 1. Push start button once without any pedals pressed 2. Push the gas pedal down 100%(should hear/feel a click) keep it held down for 10 seconds. 3. With foot still on the pedal press the start button once again 4. Let go of the pedal and wait 2 mins.
@@ABAUTOAMG Thanks for the clear instruction. Wonder if it’ll work for my GLC43 pre-facelift. What after step 4? Do you immediately start the car or turn it completely off before starting again? Thanks.
@@brettchin9988 Hi Brett, no problem :) After waiting 2 mins in step to the tcu is reset so it will so effectively your next drive it will start building a new driving profile sp you could go for the drive right away or later. I tend to go right away and do a 15 min hard drive to get it all set up as sport as possible. This should def work on your glc43 prefacelift, you just need to take the push start button off (pulls of with finger clips back on) then instead of pressing the button one turn the key to position 1, then then on step 3 turn the key back to position 0
@@ABAUTOAMG Thanks man. I think I need to clarify this. If I’m not wrong, It should be turning the key to 2nd position, just before starting the car and then to position 0. If you’re using keyless, then press twice without touching any paddle. After that press once to completely off.
@@brettchin9988 1. Turn the key once to turn on the lights etc but not the engine. 2. Push the gas pedal down 100%(should hear/feel a click) keep it held down for 10 seconds. 3. With foot still on the pedal turn the key back to the off position 4. Let go of the pedal and wait 2 mins.

@@ABAUTOAMG hi mate thanx for the reply, ok I’ll keep my eye out for ur Vidz by the way loving the the vidz found so many hidden tips and tricks with ur vidz bro, 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
Hey Mate, it's more the gear changes and the throttle response which in turn will make the exhaust react as they are all hand in hand. Yep this works great on the 2018. Remove the button for the push start (can easily do this with just your hand) Then do the same steps but move the key to position 1, then position zero instead of pressing the button.
If you reset it and then start driving in sport+ right after, it remaps the tcu, but does it only do this in sport+ or does it do it to all driving modes or do you have to reset for each driving modes separately?
So in order to perform this TCU reset process, it was a bit trickier than I expected. With my car in the garage for 3 days now, I cannot just perform the TCU reset then go out and drive aggressively in Sport+, since the car hasn't warmed up yet to be driven hard. So I had to drive it for 10-15 minutes, warm everything up, then turn off the car and wait a bit for the electronics to completely turn off, then perform the TCU reset, put it in Sport+ and go drive like a maniac. I'm assuming that no matter the driving habit, this does not affect Manual mode with the paddles in any way since you as the driver are shifting manually?
Nice job! Let us know how it goes,as you drive more and if you feel a difference. Yep this is for auto modes. It will change all drive modes though in auto :)
Anyone else having problems getting this to work in a Cla250? 2014 here I’ve tried it a few times after getting g the car back from the dealer and the tranny is still just asleep.
Just a follow-up to my previous comment to help anybody else, I was making the mistake of releasing the gas pedal in between the two ten second intervals and then reality do you have to hold the gas pedal down as you’re switching the key position. Hopefully that helps.
Hey Paul, I discovered this while doing some research into the transmission. On a AMG driving day the instructor talked about the gearbox being progressive and adapting to the driver so I thought I'd have a look into it and discovered lots about it online.
You dont need to select the drive mode while performing the reset but once you've reset it and go out for a drive put it in sport+ mode and drive it hard for 15 minutes.
@@deanbeckworth1053 cant say 100% as I havent tried but I think it should as most Mercedes have this and follow the same procedure. Let us know if you test it! :)
Hi mate, for resetting the TCU, do you press the start button twice or once? Forum says it should be on second position. But in the video you said just press it once. I’m a little bit confused.
Hi mate, you just press the button once to turn on the displays (but not the engine) then after you've done the bit holding the accelerator pedal down it's one click of the button again which turns the screens all off.
i hope you would like this... the transition between your intro sound, sub topic and you explaining is not that good because the music just end suddenly

Thanks! Hope it turned out good!
Thanks Adam great tips picking my C220D AMG up this weekend
I have the opposite issue on my SLK 350. It keeps overreving when I want to change up to the next gear occasionally. Ive tried the gearbox reset like you showed but don’t think it did anything. What do you think could be the issue?
I like how he blurred the speedometer lol
🤣
Hi Adam great vid!!
So basically the steps are:
1. Turn key to 2nd on position (cluster lights turn on)
2. Hold down gas pedal for at least 10 secs
3. Turn key to off position (cluster lights turn off)
4. Hold down gas pedal for additional 10 secs at least.
5. Let go of gas pedal.
6. Start car and drive round for 15-20 mins so the adaptive gearbox can relearn the way I drive.
Is this correct?
Hi Chris, that sounds perfect to me! Let us know how you get on :)
After step 4 just open your driver door. An close it. An sit inside. Dont lock the doors. Wait 2-5 minute. You will hear the reset. In my e63 the 3d boxes just open an closes everytime when i reset the tcu :) and also you will hear the gear box reset visualy.
Thanks for the tip Sebastian Vettel
Great video dude i have just purchasd an 2019 a35 i assume this reset should work on this?
Thanks! And congrats on your a35. I now own CLA45s so I have loads of videos for tips etc on the same platform. These should all work on the 35 too 👍
Hi man, thank you for great content is this the same with the cla 45s? If someone buys used after let's say 10k miles?
Hey! Yep! After I've finished my first 1000 miles of gently running my cla45s in I will be doing this to reset my tcu.
any Video on how to update NTGs?
I did this on my c220 Coupe when I brought it from Mercedes - I thought they would have done this as standard but I guess not.
BTW love the auto blurring speedometer - if it was an option I suppose it would be called Blur Matic 🤔
Haha BlurMatic!
The car must have thought it saw a Bigfoot.
when you do this reset, should you do the next drive in Sport+ only? What if i do the reset and do it in comfort? I drive like a "looney" in comfort the most.
It doesn’t matter which you do first. After a reset comfort mode will start learning as you drive around in comfort mode. Then same with Sport+ they will individually change and adapt to your driving in each.
Thanks for all your videos. I've just bought a W212 E400 (2013 Facelift). Will this work on it?
You are welcome Grant, thanks for watching! Yep the TCU reset will work on the W212 too! Mercedes have kept the method the same :)
@@ABAUTOAMG so, then to train each mode, I just drive accordingly per drive mode one after the other for 15 mins in each mode?
@@berniecruz8405wish you would have gotten a reply by now.
@@ABAUTOAMG glad I could help. Ok so do reset, drive 15 in C, drive 15 in S, drive 15 in S+, then finally, 15 in Race?
Great video and awesome car! Picking up my 2018 C43 coupe tomorrow and I can't wait! It does have the older key fob, will this procedure work the same way as you described?
Thanks Gerry! Thats exciting! Yep should all work. With the older key fob the method was the same but instead you remove the stop start button (it jusr clicks on and off) then you turn the key to the on position without the brake etc rather than press the button. That being said I think both methods work but im not 100% sure.
@@ABAUTOAMG
“Remove the stop/start button?!?” That sounds like it would break something.
Does this eliminate the lag from the dual clutch from the original takeoff? Not in race mode of course
dude i have the same car how do i get the flashing red " upshift warning" on the dash!!!!!???????
Hi mate, very informative video but I am a little bit confused with the button pressing level.
I have a Mercedes W213, E class 2017
If I press the start button once, it displays the Mercedes car and logo only, then the second press brings all emergency lights and the third press makes the display off totally.
Same issue
Wait I have the old key for my 16 S550 is it a must that I pull out the push to start and insert my key? Or can I follow the exact same steps?
Hey Ken, this should work the same if you press the button and follow these steps 👍
I’m going to try this on my 16 S550
Great video. Collecting mine soon. Ive read about a breaking in period of 1000 miles and advised not to use sport plus or race or rpm blah blah. Do you know anything about this? If this is so and advised then should the tcu reset should be done at 1000 miles?
Hi Chris, I would recommend the run in period for the first 1000 miles if your able to then reset the TCU after.
Hi, really enjoying your videos.
My question, will this work with my new CLA250 (not AMG).
Thank you!
Hi Robert. Glad you are enjoying the videos, thanks! Yep, this will work on your CLA250. It works on almost all Mercedes with automatic transmission.
Very informative ! Love it

Is this the same we need to do on the E 43 as well, after they updated my ECU , my pops and bangs are completely gone, i did a complaint to MB and they seem to no care about it, i have a 2018 E 43 AMG. Can any one help pls!
Nice! Does this work on non AMG models too? Like an AMG line E class?
Also, how do you keep your steering wheel so matte?
Thanks! Yep this will work on any automatic mercedes :) I'm planning on putting together the ultimate steering wheel clean video :)
Need to press the brake on my GLE to get it to start. You sure it works on non AMG? Thanks
This made my glb loud asf
Apply for all model and year Mercedes ?
Hi there if you reset it,will it consume more diesel or not and what is the best mode to use on this car comfort or eco mode?
Hi Tee, This all depends on how you drive it. eco will always give you best mpg but it's a bit boring sitting in eco, I only use eco if I'm low on fuel myself. If you have the diesel I wouldn't worry too much it's pretty good fuel wise in all drive modes.
Hi Adam
Great video like always
Merry Christmas everyone.
I have question
My C43 coupe 2019 model facelift had 2 services so far and the third due in May.
I noticed in the last few months the performance exhaust became quieter lately
5600 km on the clock, yes I drive it on weekends only and I use shell v power 98 octane.
Thank you for your input in advance
Do you think if I reset the TCU like you showed in the video will improve the exhaust note?
And yes I have performance exhaust
Bought brand new from factory and has all options possible including seat ventilation and energising comfort performance seats and steering and performance exhaust the comes with the ergonomic package
I live in Australia
Cheers
I took it to dealer, they said it’s a government regulation to reduce emission and noise
I’m devastated as I bought the car for its noise and specs….
Other than perf exhaust what options for c43 would you say are defintely worth getting in 2021
I'd say the digital dials since the AMG screens are great and have lots of menus would be a must have for me personally in a 2021. The top end headlights are also important to have, really helps those night or dark drives.
Hi. Does this apply to a C63s 2020? I have never heard these pops on my car.
Hey, does your car have the optional AMG performance exhaust? (If you have it there will be an exhaust button in the center console). This is a factory optional extra that gives you all the extra pops etc in sport+.
Is your foot still on the accelerator at the time you finally start it, or do you remove it just before you hit start?
The start will be as normal. Right foot on brake. Otherwise it won’t start.
Does this work with an E63s from 2014? 😊 (w212) Thanks !
Hey! Yep this should work on a w212 E63s. Great car by the way! :)
@@ABAUTOAMG Awesome then I will try it 🙌🏻 Yeah I love the power and sound 😍
Hey great video mate but do you think it will improve 0-60 times as well as increase the pops and bangs
Hey Mate, thanks! It won't increase performance numbers it will just make the gearbox more dramatic, hard and respond quicker as a result though it will feel quicker and be even more fun! :)
Hi,
I am curious if on this C class, the new steering wheel from S class with double layer commands will work. Do you have any idea? Thanks!
Hi tell me that car it's doesn't have lot of problems like this other cars BMW Audi can I rely on this c-43 AMG
I've had no problems so far really. If the car is taken care of and well maintained it should be very reliable :)
@@ABAUTOAMG ah thanks for the response! No I dont have the button :( btw you dont have any mods done to the car in this vid? Just the tcu reset? 😅
@@ABAUTOAMG also would this even be worth doing on c43 without performance exhaust?
No major mods here just painted calliper’s :) The TCU reset is still worth a try. It’s going to make the gears more aggrieved even without the AMG Performance Exhaust :)
Does it have separate memory for different modes?
So if I drive like a manic in sport mode and like a granny in comfort mode….will it learn each of those separately.
Yep! That's right each mode will adapt when you drive :)
@@ABAUTOAMG Thanks, I am going to have make sure to only drive crazy in sport mode.
would you recommend resetting TCU following the "break-in" period?
Why on earth would you want pops and crackles coming out of your exhaust system?!
@@ABAUTOAMG Ok....many thanks for the advice.

Got a 2019 e220d, you think itll be a little faster from 0-60 now? Like honest question, maybe a tenth or so?
Hey, It will certainly be more fun and feel faster going from 0-60 with the extra drama and response but if I'm honest it's not likely to increase the actual 0-60. I did a test a while back timing 0-60 in every drive mode and even though sport+ felt way faster due to all the drama and fun it actually timed the same as comfort mode. Still though if it feels faster that's a great thing!
Hi, I’ve got a 2014 CLA180, would i be able to do this? thanks
Yep! This should work on your cla too :)
Hello Adam, this should you do the first time you stepped in your second hand car.
It adapt your driving style automatically.
Great tip anyway.
Hey :) I'd do this right after picking my car up otherwise it could take a while to adapt over time.
My A class w177 gets stuck in gear when I put my foot down, if I then brake and rev the car then changed gears and accelerates. Could this fix it? Or does this sound like another problem
Hi Adam, this sounds like an issue for a mechanic to look into to me to be safe but it’s worth resetting the TCU to rule out a software glitch.

You can take the man from the lower deck, but can’t take the lower deck from the man….
The TSU reset, works per mode meaning, you need to drive like a lunatic on Sport+, then on Sport, then on Comfort? 15m each
Or just in any mode for 15m, and affects all mode the same?
I believe this will reset profiles for all drive modes then each will adapt so I would just do the drive in sport+ then let comfort adapt naturally after.
Just curious. Does this work on c class 2017 model
Hey Robert, Yep! This will work great on a 2017 C Class.

@@ABAUTOAMG thank you so much for this great content man. It’s the same as the ECU reset? Sound quite similar
@@borjagomez6498 ecu you can reset by removing the negative battery terminal, wait 10 minutes, reconnect.👍🏻
If you reset it and then start driving in sport+ right after, it remaps the tcu, but does it only do this in sport+ or does it do it to all driving modes or do you have to reset for each driving modes separately?
Hey! It will reset all drive modes and learn as you drive so you can build a new profile for both Comfort and sport+.
Looks like it resets for all driving modes. Wifey saw a clear difference on comfort

Very interesting! Where did you learn about this procedure?
Hey Paul, I discovered this while doing some research into the transmission. On a AMG driving day the instructor talked about the gearbox being progressive and adapting to the driver so I thought I'd have a look into it and discovered lots about it online.
@@ABAUTOAMG Thanks! I have had a 2018 AMG C43 Coupe for over 2 years! It is a great automobile! Thanks for the reply.
What if the car has stage 2
Hey, If the cars tuned to stage 2 they would normally reset the TCU while doing the tune so it should all be setup correctly.
Have you thought of doing the panamera grill to your AMG? That + a carbon center interior stack is what I would to personally.
Hi Kyle, yes! I love the panamera grill and I'd love to replace the center console with the carbon.
Do you do this in sport mode?
You dont need to select the drive mode while performing the reset but once you've reset it and go out for a drive put it in sport+ mode and drive it hard for 15 minutes.
@@ABAUTOAMG will it work in my A250 AMG line?
@@deanbeckworth1053 cant say 100% as I havent tried but I think it should as most Mercedes have this and follow the same procedure. Let us know if you test it! :)
Hi mate, for resetting the TCU, do you press the start button twice or once? Forum says it should be on second position. But in the video you said just press it once. I’m a little bit confused.
Hi mate, you just press the button once to turn on the displays (but not the engine) then after you've done the bit holding the accelerator pedal down it's one click of the button again which turns the screens all off.
@Abauto , it should press twice to , first press will not light up everything , pls correct your mistake bro
does this really work
Absolutely! Check out some of the people that have had great results in the comments :)
i hope you would like this... the transition between your intro sound, sub topic and you explaining is not that good because the music just end suddenly
I’m not hearing a click 🤷🏻
