What happens between 4:00 and 4:52 is NOT to be practiced at home. Railways are dangerous environments and are not for playing around on! (4:36-38 was achieved with a split-screen effect).
Filming for this production was undertaken with permission granted by Tim Baker of the Bluebell Railway Preservation Society, with a temporary trackside PTS granted for the duration.
This kind of filmmaking is highly dangerous and shouldn't be attempted without the appropriate safety procedures in place. Remember, clever filming/editing helps to assist these without compromising certain illusions.
For my Final Major Project in the Foundation Year at Ravensbourne College of Design & Communication, I drew inspiration from Buster Keaton, the Ealing Comedies and Mr Bean to produce this short film; to demonstrate the effects of willpower and determination while engaged in an innocent pastime.
As an amateur photographer misses the opportunity to get a snapshot of a steam train, what sort of heights will he reach to get his picture?
This is an original short film starring my friends and me. The music and artwork are my own creations and I own all the rights to this video.
Filmed by Chris Eden-Green & Simon A.C. Martin
Starring Chris Eden-Green & Donald Harper
With special thanks to the Museum of Kent Life and the Bluebell Railway for helping to make this film possible.
DISGRACEFUL and THOROUGHLY IRRESPONSIBLE!!
Always steady your Polaroid with BOTH hands!
highdownmartin it's sometimes interesting to be a little bit different
Had us in the first half not gonna lie
When an enthusiast is on a mission.
Dude, 4:42, that's one of the most awesome shots of a train I've ever seen, you have to do more.
Mostly, train enthusiasts gets the outside look of the train at its sleek bodywork, but taking a look on the underside of the train gives me a unique perspective, I love it, I'd love you to get more shots like that.
Still enjoy watching this when it pops up on my suggested videos.
Great sketch. There were several good chuckle worthy moments here.
A charming comedy short, with which many of us can identify. Buster Keaton would have approved.
Excellent and some very good physical comedy....I particularly like the 'gate' sequence.
Buy a top notch camera - You deserve it!
Brilliant and very funny!
Class soundtrack dude!
3:35 did he say s***???
Great Western Railway fan yes
3:34
Love the bit with the fence gate!
When Chris says "YYYYES" toward the end, try watching it at 0.25x speed. I'm sure that's how all of us feel when capture that illusive master shot 😉😆
Good film and I love the Moggie car 😊
This is just an adorable and imaginative video to which I enjoyed every minuet of. Thank you guys for creating and posting it
I would do the same the for a bullied Pacific
Brilliant mate, a real slick of genius and a pleasure to view! Keep em' up! Cheers, Jack
Very much in the style of "The plank" love it
This reminds me of a Buster Keaton production, where the slapstick and comedy is spot on, and rarely anything is said.
(Before anyone says anything, I am aware that his films were silent, but I meant that, when there is dialogue in his films, it's shown and not told, so to speak)
Great as you always do, dude. Absolutely HILARIOUS! XD
Feels like an episode of heartbeat
I love this film.
How have I not see this before! This was great!
this was filmed by the great Simon Martin of the British railway stories no wonder there was such great detail
AFTER THAT ENGINE! 😡😂
Killian Keane Your driver has misunderstood the signal! (Nice Engine Stops Play, A.K.A Classic Thomas Reference)
Hum. As a professionnal railwayman I'm not at all sure I approve of all that larking about on the track !
But I loved it...
More please. 😉
fantastic work Chris Good to see this film back up :-D
Damn, I love this, but still shows the danger of getting to close the locomotive and train
Any chance of another video like this?
Great fun to watch 😂😂
Bloody marvelous.
Well done....
Very good Chris love tho whole film, keep them commig
I love this.
bloody fantastic
What a cool skit! Brilliant work.
Is that Sir Archibald Sinclair pulling the train?
Yes
See, if the head people of Midnight Rider had half as much sense as you regarding railway safety, Sarah Jones would still be alive.
Which is what upsets me most about why she no longer is.
Cool video. Really good job. LJL
best thing on youtube
awesome
good show, very hilarious.
Was that the C word at 2:32? Very funny and well done.
Did anyone notice that the Black and White Picture the Loco has a Different Head Code than in we see before
Yes I wasnt the only one who noticed
Amazing video, great effort, thumbs up. Funny and great work lads :)
Were you actually able to find film for that camera? Looks like an old Polaroid Land camera. I have one, but they don’t make the film for it anymore.
What a cunning stunt!
Let's see, going over the speed limit, stealing a policeman's bike, trespassing on railway property, I'm sure the policeman has quite the rap sheet on you now.
Its been 8 years and i still dont know how they make the scenes where Archibald (This locomotive) nearly ran over Chris
Splitscreen
Im Suprised how your still here after the shot in 4:38 I just need to know how you were able to do it
He probably used a green screen to make it look like he is on the tracks. And for the shot of the bottom of the train he put the camera on the ballast or sleeper
@@LHoriginal no. Actually just a simple split screen shot, one side has the shot of Chris, the other of the train exiting the tunnel and then it's just split somewhere down the middle. Impressive what such a simple technique can do.
Great Video
Happy Chrsimas
Blake
so what happened with the cop ?
damusername01 he died of a heart attack after running to fast
Do you still have your Morris Minor? :D
Is the car yours? Where’d it come from?
4:37 wait that scene was in 2 different shots spliced into one frame right?
Bloody hope so
Yes, either that or he used a green screen to make it look like he is on the tracks
Either that, or he did a bloody dangerous stunt that paid off for the photo.
Where did you borrow that Morris from?
I owned it from 2004-2016
@@ChristheXelent Cool. The body reminds me of an old Jeep Woody.
Chris Eden-Green I some how envision Sam and you in and old Landrover doing this back in the day.
!do not attempt!
Hilarious
Don't worry, I promise not to do this at home...
I'll do it at my railway instead!
jk, just for reference
Jw Where is the music from
From me
@@ChristheXelent Well done for not massively blowing your own trumpet!!!
omg
LOL XD
Do you drive a Morris Minor Traveller
I used to
Chris Eden-Green Saved you having to hire a car like it
Chris Eden-Green It Also looked like it was well looked after
1:52 that was the most pathetic fall I’ve ever seen!
Too right
Haha gate
Who's here in 2016?
*2020
