I've had both and can definitely attest to what is being said here. I recently traded my financed 24 GTS for a leased 25 Macan EV. I used to daily the GTS, and it is a practical car for both sport and casual. And similar here, the price for me were about the same, but the Macan 4 EV has so many nice features. To echo what Mike already said, the GTS is an all-rounder for sport and casual, but the Macan delivers a level of luxury that is absent on the GTS. The only reason I traded the GTS was because of the lease offer and because I put an order in for a 911 GTS (t-hybrid); there is no need to have two sporty cars. But if you can only pick one, I think Mike summed both of them up perfectly!
I drove the Macan EV Turbo and found it a great drive. But as Mike points out, early adopters are going to see their used car value plummet as I'm sure we'll see range increases over the next 4 years on newer models that will render the current Macan EV, not obsolete, but certainly much less desirable. I think that goes for almost all EVs though.
I love my Macan GTS and there is no way an EV model would give me as much of a fun experience! As well I think the bloom is off the EV rose as Taycans are stacking up everywhere…
honestly, i think anyone who wants a GTS, is not gonna opt for the slower Macan 4 EV. They're gonna get a 4S or turbo. I don't think they compare just cuz of price. both of which could be obtained for around the price of that EV you showed. and you mentioned that they were comparable, but didn't show the interior of either. i was hoping to see how the ICE macan differed on the inside. I think your point of ppl wanting to opt up for the next model in a couple years may be the most valid point toward leasing. Not that the value is going to plummet. Cuz you know that the residual is set at the time of the lease anyway right?
Thanks for the video, I still have a split personality on this Macan EV, I really like the look and want an EV but I just want to see how it depreciates over the next 12-18 months. I sort of hope it holds its value but let’s see.
Mike, the EVs have a rev sound-you can turn it on/off on the screen. It's not the equivalent of the ICE cars but will give you an engine roar if you want it. The Macan EV models have no shifting, which means quicker off-the-line acceleration and smoother acceleration to the desired speed. They have a +/-300-mile EPA range on a charge. Comes with a Level 2 home charger so overnight charging makes good sense (as you recommended) to use it and avoid the EA high-speed charger lines you mentioned. To the traditional Porsche customer, it's probably a good idea to keep the ICE versions around as electric versions can present a cultural acceptance challenge. But, I hope you talk about handling the Macan 4 in more depth as I was really impressed with the familiar Porsche drive, including lighter off-road use. The 4S is the magic trim. Also, rear-wheel co-steering is an option. Worth consideration in my opinion. Thanks for the comparison with the GTS.
I’m for internal combustion all the way. Glad to see that the federal government is going to allow the people to freely choose their preferred preferences. EV seems or feel so artificial!
At least currently, no interest in going electric even if this Macan EV seems like a fantastic car. Hope that Porsche continues to manufacture and even update the combustion Macan, because ultimately its the only Porsche that I can justify buying, something I can daily drive and that is practical. Currently where I live electric still nowhere near practical.
You make REALLY good videos. Thank you
Thank you for the encouragement and support Kevin! 👊🏼
These videos are really helpful, I’m more of an ICE person, just can’t get enthusiastic about an EV. Thanks Mike!
Glad you like them! 👊🏼
I appreciate your comparison videos and insights--thank you! :)
👊🏼 thank you.

Well put. Yes.

Good decision 👍🏼

Well put. Yes this car was not optioned with the sport sound. 👍🏼
High I’m fro the uk nice review what is the speed limit on these roads please
Thank you. 👊🏼 Why do you ask?
Just wondering that sort off industrial setup with all those traffic lights and junctions would probably be 30 to 40 MPH max here in uk
@@davidfennessey2727 between 40 and 55 around here.

Yes I hope the recent fall off in EV desire will lead to a more balanced approach to mandatory alternative drivelines.
You have to compare the Macan 4 with „Sport plus“ plus Porsche Sport Sound, than it´s more comparable 😊
Good idea. Thanks.

Nice! Have you driven one yet?
Mike, do not mean to be rude, but the title should start with the word 'Which' not 'What'
Thank you! Corrected. 😉👍🏼
More Dynamic goes to GTS!
