I used le labo’s tonka + Vetiver daily for a long time - awesome combo, fresh and deep, I think they complement each other really good. Recently I switched to Frederic Malle’s Uncut Gem by Maurice Roucel and fell in love - sharp, masculine and boy, does it develop during the day.

Santal for everyday/evening, Bergamotto di Positano for summers/vacations and you're set. A bit more subtle on their projections and lasting power, but the layers are complex in a good way. And, no one else in the room is going to smell like you with these on.

I've tried a bunch of samples of supposedly must-buy fragrances. They all smell like generic perfume to me, that kind of unpleasant powdery note. The only fragrance I actually like so far is By The Fireplace 😂

Dominic, I’m a GenXer, I started my International Man of Mystery Journey circa 1981. There I as, a 7th Grader at Hillcrest Junior High. Went through a bottle of English Leather every month. Moved on to RL Polo by 9th Grade. By then I was attending an all boys Catholic high school and had a cheerleader girlfriend. That over stimulated, perfectly proportioned Catholic School girl, would swoon when she smelled Polo on me. Yes, I was living the dream, every damn night! By my senior year, I was wearing Chanel for men. Black bottle, Smokey, great smell. Leap forward a few years. Senior year in college, I was still wearing Chanel. Today, I spritz Rugby by J. Press, daily. I smell freshly showered at work, without people looking at me like I’m a 55 year old with a 25 year old beauty in the basement. When I go out to dinner with my wife, who I call Lovey, I wear men’s Flower Bomb. Lovey looks at me, like she did when I was 19 😊. Signed, LtCol, USMC (Retired) and ex-Amazonian ;) P.S. The problem with side effect is how expensive it is. Not the bottle. But having to go out on a date every time you wear it to do it justice 😂😂

I think I've tried Noir Extreme (don't recall it) but definitely not Althaïr. I'll have to check them out!
@@dominicscalise both are sweeter fragrances but I love them! Noir extreme is a bit spicier (cinnamon like), while Althaïr is a smoother vanilla
