I’d love a 200 disco! It’s my favourite discovery having had a 200tdi defender. But seeing this has seriously put me off ever owning one… unless it was this one when you’re finished with it 😂
I’ve been lookin at some real trashed out vehicles lately and have dismissed many thinking they are too far gone. Watching you revive(basically rebuild) this beauty inspires me. I’m going to grab something I would normally consider and push past my comfort zone! Thanks!
I know first hand of this pain! I had to do all of this to my d1. Though I did t have a workshop it was all on the drive in the rain! Great work on this!
I can`t believe how much metal those "Tin Worms" have eaten away from your car.... When you first bought it it didn`t look too bad...... I hate to think what would have happened in an accident!!!! It would have just crumpled.... Makes you wonder what state some cars out there are in?? You are doing a fantastic job Sophie... The reason you are smiling is because you love what you are doing... I so do I...... Take care and keep up the good work..... :-))) xxx
When I was restoring my late Dad's Jeep pickup in Australia I used a product called KBS rust coat for the area around the floors etc it's a similar stuff to PPG's POR15 but better I think. I had replaced the floor's back in 1987-88 and they were still great!
Absolutely brilliant as always. The standard of your work is exceptional. You deserve your Land Rover overalls! I can vouch for Corroless. We use it on mild steel parts then put them in the sea. Superb products. I have to say I think you are never happier than with an angle grinder in your hand! The Land Rover will be better than the day it was built once you are done. Keep up the good work, look forward to your next film.
Your dedication to this project is an inspiration, total madness of course 😱 but you do it with such joy still love them glad you stuck with it and was pleased to help out. Jeff NewZealand
This is almost therapeutic... No matter how big and insurmountable your problem seems to be, just kkep chugging away at it and eventually it will be done.
I should’t watch your channel too much, I feel like you do it so much better than I do on my own project 😁 Hats off for you! Great effort. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Not sure if you seen any Landrover videos from the hilarious New Zealander Crocker vs rover, when he just posted the start of his Landrover Discovery purchase, I thought of this build back at the start. Thanks for the new post, really enjoyed watching it.
It's a long journey but your getting there. Your welding is looking really good now 👌, well done. Can't wait to see it finished. I've got a 90 td5 that I'm converting next year, with galvanised chassis and m57 engine 🙂
I would recommend using a really low grit flap disc if you are prepping for painting/priming. And a new one as wel, or using a grind disc. You can polish the metal pretty fast with a (used) flap disc which will make your paint/primer not stick as good
The amount of work you've already done on this project is amazing. Have you been keeping track of the amount of hours you've put into it so far? I would be curious to know.
Great work as usual Sophie! My 2 door is slowly being rebuilt with the fear drawers fridge etc in the back. Luckily here in NZ the powers that be don't throw salt on the roads which means my '93 is in afar better nick that your one was before you started. Very little rust around but all my doors need replacing so found a donor 300TDI that is giving me bits and pieces inlcuding the doors. I wonder though, do you know where I can get interior trim items? You body parts link is very useful!
looking good Sophie! where did you source your donor panels from please? I'm going to need quite a few! I don't have the space for a donor vehicle or I would get one 😁😁 another excellent skilled video thank you!
Fantastic work so far Sophie-are you finding during your resto that Disco 200 TDI parts are getting really hard to find? Im restoring an early 93 V8 and decent ones are very hard to find down here in Australia
I love discovery's I just live in a place where there's alot of ulez stuff so my dad has had to sell his 300tdi and buy a petrol series 2 because you have to pay to go into the zones with diesel cars.
Great vid and job well done. It is similar to the work, I started a year ago on my 200TDi 3dr.Trophy. What kind of sheetmetal did you use for the patches? Heinz
Now that is a big job,l could do with a ringer to help me remove a few disco transfer cases and your better looking than my mate and the Clark of works🐕🐕🐕
Well done on another superb video! The more I look at the discovery the more I see how much of a big undertaking this is for you, you have to be very brave to take that on (or depending on how you look at it, very stupid 😂). Keep up the great work, are those wheels staying on it?
Great to see young people working on old cars and keeping the hobby going
Great work! More Discovery updates!
Much respect for your efforts and mounting skills
I’d love a 200 disco! It’s my favourite discovery having had a 200tdi defender.
But seeing this has seriously put me off ever owning one… unless it was this one when you’re finished with it 😂
Depending on where you are located, you can get around most of the rust by buying from a warm area, like Spain.
Great job!!! Working on my transfer case for 2000 disco.
Great progress Sophie, love watching you tear into it piece by piece. You do great work!
Thanks for the update Sophie.
'...like a Land Rover horror film...' Love it!

can’t wait to see the final product
Really great to see some real craftsmanship - or craftwomanship to be more accurate. Bravo 🙌

My Corroless S test piece has still not seriously rusted after 2 years being left in the open!! BRILLIANT PAINT!!
Wow, there is alomost no original sheet metal left. Thanks for the Update on this true classic car.

Great progress again Sophie! Nice to see you have some Land Rover overalls too. Still got my baggy green jacket and overalls from the 90's too!

Did you follow Mike's video about your 200TDi? How did it go?
Astounding amount of tricky work
Nice coveralls 🙂

Pour the primer in thick to fill the cracks and groves.

Good to see you still at it lass!
If you get chance check out Geoffrey Croker “Croker v’s Rover” from New Zealand.
Keep chipping away.🙂
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Soapy, whats happening with the Discovery restoration?
Great work as usual Sophie! My 2 door is slowly being rebuilt with the fear drawers fridge etc in the back. Luckily here in NZ the powers that be don't throw salt on the roads which means my '93 is in afar better nick that your one was before you started. You can never be TO RICH, TOO THIN, OR USE TOO MUCH ANTI CORROSIVE PRIMER ESPECIALLY ON ROVER!👍👍
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🥰🥰🥰
looking good Sophie! where did you source your donor panels from please? I'm going to need quite a few! I don't have the space for a donor vehicle or I would get one 😁😁 another excellent skilled video thank you!
I doubt she'll answer but I suspect it's YRM Metal Solutions.
Another great video Sophie, great progress, keep on going! Does this LR have a name yet?
👍👊
Hi, how will you stop the rust problem returning if you are using the same deign of pieces to repair?
Fantastic work so far Sophie-are you finding during your resto that Disco 200 TDI parts are getting really hard to find? Im restoring an early 93 V8 and decent ones are very hard to find down here in Australia
Haven't heard from ya in a while. On the discovery 🏴 landrover project and the defender. ? I'ove from Ireland ☘️
New video dropping this weekend I’m hoping! Thank you for checking in ❤️
impressive as usual ! Do you think this disco is rustier then others due to it being an early one ?
I love discovery's I just live in a place where there's alot of ulez stuff so my dad has had to sell his 300tdi and buy a petrol series 2 because you have to pay to go into the zones with diesel cars.
I've been in love with your videos am just sad that I can't do the same cause I have a landrover discovery 1 but don't have the capacity to fix it
Great vid and job well done. It is similar to the work, I started a year ago on my 200TDi 3dr.Trophy. What kind of sheetmetal did you use for the patches? Heinz

🤙👋👋👍👍🖐
When you are all done, is there going to be any original metal left? LOL!
