@offwiththeirheads4635 Thank you my friend. I did pretty good today ☺️. Thank you for your participation, I look forward to your comments every weekend. Take care buddy. Have a beautiful day. 🤗
Still following.🎉 Happy to see you're back to normal lengthy vlogs. 😂😂😂 Nice Latte-Art 👍👍👍 From time to time, I'am practicing. My issue with Latte-Art... I do not like the foam. 🙈🙈🙈 (milk, yes - foam , no). Wondering wherher you are using the 2, or 4 hole nozzle. Regarding the tampers- have tried a lot, also spring-tampers - the Lelit tamper works the best for me. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the weekend 🤗🤗🤗
@oly7744 Hello Oly. I recorded this video a weekend after I hadn't seen you for a while. You know how it is with my time travel 😅. As to the tip I'm using with the steam-wand, I have always used the one with 2 holes. Oly, thank you for your participation here on our little coffee club, I really appreciate it buddy. Take care, and have a wonderful day. 🤗
Ah...now my week is complete! Thanks for the return to long form videos. Normcore makes a nice walnut tamping station, not sure if it's to your taste though 🤷♂
Hello Jason. Good morning buddy, nice to see you in the comments early Sunday morning. What time is it for you? The thing with the long videos is the editing part, 😖. We'll see what happens with the tamping station, I'm working on something. Thank you for your comment Jason, I really appreciate your participation. Take care, and have a wonderful day. 🤗
@OmnielCapote Thanks for remembering my name mate! For me, it's 11:15pm as I'm writing this comment 😅 About to go to bed now! Oh and congrats on 888 subs! It's a very auspicious number around these parts 👍🏼
@jowyong6769 😅 I asked with the intent of remembering, however my memory is not always the best, so I'm glad it stuck. Getting to know you guys is what makes it all worth it. As to the 888, I didn't even know I had reached that number, I'm finding out from your comment 😅. I guess the 888 is three infinity symbols standing up, ready to take off 🚀 😅. I had never heard that, but it makes sense. I hope so, I want company's to send me items to review. Take care bud, and sweet dreams, I guess 😅.
@OmnielCapote Haha! Actually 8 in mandarin kinda sounds like the word for 'Prosperity' or 'Wealth'. But your interpretation sounds great as well! Never thought about it that way, wow, infinity symbols. Sure hope the channel takes off mate, all the very best for 2025! (Can u believe it's already been a year?! 😱)
Omniel, I have another Tipp for you. Start the shot immediately after you lock in the portafilter otherwise your puck sucks moisture and temperature. You need to start the brew immediately. I know you are doing a video and you are talking… just do it right. 😉
@rkytr.2765 Hello my friend, and thank you for participating in the comments. I really appreciate it. I've gotten this comment a few times. Under normal circumstances I would pull the shot immediately. When I'm not making a video, that's exactly what I do. However, I've never been able to taste the difference. Do you use a puck screen? Do you have a gap between the puck screen, and the shower screen? The basket you are using, is for how many grams, and how many grams are you packing in it? I think all those variables may also influence things as to how fast you need to start the shot. This conversation is a bit much for here, but perhaps I can remember to talk about it on a future video. Again, thank you for your comment. Take care, and have a wonderful day.
@1101naomi Good morning Naomi. I know what you're saying, I also watched his video. However, I've never been able to taste a clear difference between grinders. With the brew burrs on the Duo, vs the conical burrs on the Zero. Folks including James, have been able to taste a difference in filter coffee. However, for me it's virtually the same. Thank you for your comment Naomi, I really appreciate your participation. Take care, and have a wonderful day. 🤗
25:10 I'm really confused about your grinder settings. Didn't you calibrate it? Zero is when the burrs touch, how can you go below that? I think you need to look up how to set it up correctly otherwise you'll never get consistent grinding with it.
@fgmenth Hello friend, and welcome to the comments. Your participation is greatly appreciated. The Niche Duo comes calibrated from factory. I have never touched the factory calibration. Obviously, they didn't do a good job of calibrating the grinder at the factory. Since the beginning, I noticed this problem, and I have been complaining about it. I will have to calibrate the grinder myself. I just haven't had the time to do that. I will eventually record a video showing the process. I will calibrate the grinder so that when you go down to zero, the burrs touch, as you indicate in your comment. I hope this explanation is clear. Again, thank you for your comment. Take care, and have a wonderful day.
@@OmnielCapote We have the exact same espresso setup. I've done that countless times and it's really easy. You need to do this every time you clean it anyway. First, tighten the dial all the way until it stops turning freely (do NOT overtighten) this is your zero point. Then turn the little black ring that's right under the metal dial to zero. That's it, it's now calibrated! Cheers!
@fgmenth That is how you calibrate the Zero, and is exactly how I do it. But the problem I'm having is with the Duo, not the Zero. The Zero is working just fine. On this video I was using the Duo. The calibration process for the Duo, is very different.
Could you tell me what the overall volume of those cortado cups is? They say it is 125ml but if they tend to run larger I think I'd be better off with the standard 90ml. I like my cortados to be closer to 100ml. I started drinking my cortados in Spain and did so for 13 years before I even knew what specialty coffee was, so I like a pretty coffee forward drink. An extra 20-30 ml of milk diluting the flavor does seem to matter, for the worse, for me. Enjoyed the video, thanks!
@@kitcraft9516 Hello friend, and welcome to the comments. If you want me to be exact, I will have to measure it. I will check for you tomorrow and report back. Again, thank you for your comment. Take care, and have a great day.
@kitcraft9516 Ok, I just checked. It was 136ml just before it spilled. If you fill it in a normal way, it will be more like 125 to 130 ml. I hope this helps.
@1101naomi Can you do that? I didn't know that was an option. How do I ask? I just get mine at the Supermarket. However, is always pretty nice, and it taste fairly fresh. If you know more about how to get it fresher, let me know? I would love to do a comparison video.
@ I have no idea!!! If you had said yes I would have tried it myself. My current fave cafe gets their beans from La colombe freshly roasted but the bags they sell come prepackaged and have a ‘best by’ date so I don’t buy them. I’ve asked for a bag from behind the counter but they won’t do that for me. lol. And is why I asked you if maybe you had an ‘in’ with your local Dunkin.
Good morning Omniel: As for me, I rather like your lengthy Sunday morning videos... I normally make myself some type of coffee beverage and sit down to enjoy both my coffee and your video. Since I don't have a flat bur grinder, my personal experience is very limited. I do have a friend that has both and he's used the same coffee for me with both types of burs a couple of times and I couldn't taste any difference either. Maybe it's because my taste buds are old and worn out 🙂 I probably only drink a straight espresso about once or twice a week or when I find a particular bean that I really enjoy. The majority of my coffee drinks are lattes and I occasionally enjoy an espresso shot mixed with fresh squeezed orange juice. I recently heard of something called an "Ameri-cola" - espresso mixed with Coco-Cola... I very rarely drink any cola drinks but I may have to buy just one to give that a try one day in the future? Thanks for sharing with us today and I will be sure to check out "Coffee Showcase" after sending this message. Take care, 🎄Kerry 🎄 PS: As for your recent "Bourbon Trail" experience, did you manage to check out "whiskey row" in downtown Louisville as well?
@kerrycoyle8930 Good morning Kerry. We staid on Whiskey Row, in a beautiful hotel. As to your taste buds 😅, there is nothing wrong with them, there just isn't a lot of difference. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and I'm happy to see your comments back on Sunday 🤗. Take care my friend, and have a great week ahead.
So incredibly kind of you to give the channel such a glowing shout out! So thankful!
@CoffeeShowcase Happy holidays Nate. I wish you and your loved ones all the best brother. 🥂🎉Cheers.

About the duo, I think it was Hoffman, who said the profile was very similar to the zero. So what you’re saying makes sense.
