@@famillerigault3813 Bonjour, oui, pour le décider finalement a y réagir, j'ai utilisé un petit subterfuge en lui parlant de la reprise de Lara Fabian car je savais qu'immanquablement en y associant Lara cela ajoutait un argument de poids. Si Lara l'a reprise c'est nécessairement que c'est une très belle chanson ...Oh que j'ai honte ! 😂😂😂
Another wonderful song... So much nostalgia in his voice... The last words give me goosebumps every time I hear them (le temps est assassin ,et emporte avec lui les rires des enfants...).
Small precision about the candy "Mistral gagnant" (I don't know if somebody already said it): once finished, you could open the paper bag, and if there was written "gagnant" on it (winner), you could have one for free!

In fact the song is dealing with the nostalgic look back to childhood. The singer is thinking back of his own childhood through his daughter. Names of sweets that nowadays have disappeared, talking about the child’s mother, and picking up souvenirs from what he was doing with her daughter that are nonsense. This song, full of slang language, definitely shows the love a father can feel towards his daughter. The piano playing put a powerful emphasis on the whole theme. A past time that will not come back, lost, tragical. It takes to one’s guts and it personally makes me cry… That is the very only, most relevant song from Renaud we should remember. Mistral was a bag with mint powder, and you had a licorice straw. So when you take this, you feel like it is a fresh wind. Mistral is also the name of a wind. Inside or in the back of the bag sometimes was written “Gagnant” (won / winning)and you could have another one for free as a prize.

Le Coco Boer, dans les marques de friandises qu il cite dans la chanson c est de la poudre de réglisse, dans une petite boîte ronde en plastique avec différentes couleurs et un couvercle en métal sur lequel était gravé Coco Boer. Très bon quand on aime !

This Beautiful song is like a music box in my mind.
I think it's exactly what has inspired this piano composition ...a child musical box. When we listen to this piano melody we can't stop to think how we open a musical box and see an opera dancer in a tutu making pointes while turning on herself with the arms also stretched out in point above her head. And this melody played with the so characteristic sound of a musical box.
I once heard Renaud said something like he sometimes was messed up and feeling depressed because he couldn't cope with the loss of innocence, the good days gone by etc. That's what this song is all about and that's how you can tell this guy is genuine, full of sense and sensitivity. Beautiful nostalgic song. Perfect. A classic.

"Mistral gagnant" is a name of a candy that no longer exists, but the mistral is also the name of a cold and strong wind that blows in the South of France. Mistral gagnant could be translated as "the winning winds". A wind that blows everything away, a bit like the time blowing away children's laughter.
And in provençal Mistral means "Master"

A mon avis, parmi de nombreuses très belles chansons de Renaud, celle-ci est ma préférée, c'est un hymne à la vie qui passe, et une très belle chanson d'amour à sa fille. Sa femme a bien fait de le "forcer" à inclure cette chanson dans son album. Cette chanson est devenue un classique et encore aujourd'hui elle est connue de toutes et tous en France.

He doesn't says "ruined our teeths" but "fu**d up our teeths" (but I guess you couldn't say that on youtube). That what's so great about Renaud, a mix of poetry (sometimes, but always good writing) and very familiar language, which is why we are all connected to his song, they feel really close to who we all are.
