Just a quick, non-spoilery thing: The dudes in white last episode WEREN'T Aes Sedai/White Ajah, they were Children of the Light, also called White Cloaks. There are no male Aes Sedai in the current time of the show because as touched on briefly, all males who are able to touch the One Power go nuts, usually pretty rapidly. Male channelers are EXTREMELY feared and hated, which is part of why people are so frightened of the Dragon Reborn: you need the Dragon around to prevent the apocalypse, but if they're a male, they have what's effectively the power of a god AND they're absolutely guaranteed to go batshit crazy at some point There IS a White Ajah but they haven't come up in the show yet!
Hey! Lovin' your reactions to these episodes! WoT (Wheel of Time) is my favourite book series, so it's nice to see new people enjoying the story! The reason the sister on the floor couldn't be healed was that she was already dead. Death can't be healed.
Tbh logain didn't do anything bad intentionally. He actually believed he was the dragon and wanted to save the world. He was captured by the aes sedai and merely wanted to escape. If people die on the way that wouldn't be his fault either cause he was the one captured.
This whole episode is an example of two groups of people trying to do the right thing hurting eachother. I think it's pretty clear that Logain isn't evil in this episode. He heals his enemy and gives him a chance to join rather than killing. He speaks calmly with Moraine. People died on both sides of the conflict, while both sides are trying to save the world. Side note ... Gentling men has been the only way to save the world for the better part of 3k years so I don't blame the Aes Sedai for being a bit stuck on that tradition. That said Liandrine is a bit too excited to inflict pain.
Liandrin said she wove weaves of air to block his ears. Said if he broke free they could gentle h im m in self defense. Notice that he could hear them. Knowing who liandrin is in the books...
The Red Sisters died because they didn’t have Warders protecting their back/flank. Kerene couldn’t be healed because she had already died before Nyneave entered cave. A warder that has their bonded Aes Sedai die feels it and they go into a berserker emotional state/ suicidal.
I don't think any Reds died but I could be wrong. There is a (very) quick shot of Alanna kneeling in the middle of the battle to heal the one that got hit by arrows.

Not because of what you said but how you said it. Dragon Reborn: No. There can be only 1 Dragon. The Dragon is prophesied to either save the world OR break the world again. It's why the true Dragon being Reborn is so feared.

That's...actually pretty accurate. 😆 The Whitecloaks you saw in Episode 2 aren't part of the Aes Sedai, though. The White Ajah is comprised entirely of women, as White Ajah sisters usually stay in Tar Valon and therefore don't usually take Warders.
About the battle, if you remember from Episode 2 Moiraine talking about the three oaths, they can not use the One Power as a weapon except to defend their lives, the life of their Warder or another Aes Sedai so they literally had to wait for their lives to be in danger before they could F them up. I am so happy you are enjoying the show and Nynaeve is also my favorite, she is AMAZING 🤩
Mat is affected by the dagger he picked up in the cursed shadow city, you can see the same type of shadow creeping in and out of his mouth. The fade was hiding from him holding the dagger, just as the trollocs did not dare to enter the shadow city. Or that’s my take on it. Great reaction 😊
Great reaction. Major props to you for picking up that Mat's dagger had no blood on it. The Fade is a servant of the Dark Lord. Mat is being affected by the dagger he picked up in Shadar Logos. It is evil. But the evil is from humans and not from the Dark Lord. The Fade was actually afraid of Mat because of that dagger.
Don't do my girl Alanna dirty like that :) But yeah, some Aes Sedai are stronger with the power than others, and some have specific skills that they're stronger at (e.g. healing, controlling weather, etc.)
The Fade can travel through the shadows by fading in and out. That’s why they’re called Fade or Lurk. Fade is stronger and faster than a human, and it’s stare causes paralyzing fear. Fades are lieutenants in Dark One’s army they typically lead detachments of Trollocs or carry assassinations. Explaining how Fade found them would have a spoiler in it, so I won’t do it. Mat is being posted by the evil from Shadar Logos (the city they stayed in). In the lore you have the Good - Light/Creator and Evil - Dark One/ Chaos. Evil of Shadar Logos is human hate, it’s something people made outside of Dark One. It’s a third entity. As it was a hate towards the Dark One originally it is still a force that will attack both good and evil. That’s why Mat who is possessed by it was able to sense the Fade
So when an Aes Sedai dies her warder doesn't die too immediately, but he essentially enters a rage/depression where he will go out seeking death until it finds him.
Every once in a while, instead of a trolloc being born- a fade is instead. There is a theory that fades are those souls who have the spark. I like to think this spark allows them to bond trollocs similar to the warder bond, hence the compulsion aspect and if the fade dies, the trollocs are incaped
I'm glad that the chemistry I detected in episode 3 between Nynaeve and Lan was real. This episode proved that. I'm still not sure if there is anything sexual between Lan and Moiraine. That ending though😀 Loved it. I knee Nynaeve's powers were going to be something 😊I said the same thing about Kerene. I wish could have saved her. I think the dagger that Mat has, is doing something to him... I'm looking forward to the next episode 😊
According to the books lan and Nynaeve strictly plutonic not to spoil too much but they did a great job explaining the diff ajahs but they have changed quite a bit from the books Who Knows lol

Lobotomy and castration rolled into one apparently The reason Kerene sacrificed herself is she was the only one who could sense Logaine's magic piercing her protective shield. Though we are able to see all of them channeling, it is mentioned that woman can't see a man channeling (and vice-versa). So Kerene just did it on instinct ! 😢
They seem to not be doing the whole opposite sexes can't see the others channeling. Because he then refers to the healing explosion as a raging sun.... but he should not be able to see it... but clearly did.
@@AnxietyRat I do what I can to not compare the books to the show, because I understand how adaptations work, but it is one of the first big plot holes the show has seemed to create for itself, because they established that women cannot see men channeling, so I wonder if it is because she drew so much power that he was able to see it, and that’s why it confirmed raging sun to him because he too knew he shouldn’t have been able to see it... interesting to see if they address it later, or is it a plot hole?

Your reactions are amazing. My fave: “… bitch.” 😂 (re: Liandrin) Couple non-spoiler notes: 1) We haven’t met the white Ajah yet. They are logical thinker types, like Vulcans. The only white group we saw was the Whitecloaks, a male religious zealot group opposed to the Aes Sedai. 2) The non-communication you’re picking up on is a big part of the books, and yep seems like they’re keeping that in the show. 3) Aes Sedai + Warders have a magical bond that allows that to feel each, which leads to intense intimacy. Some turn that into romance, many don’t. Aes Sedai are also according to the author “1/3 up to 1/2” romantic with each other, depending on the Ajah.
im loving all the hints that are being thrown out about who the dragon really is, i mean they are throwing alot of maybes out there but they have also been showing ALOT of hints from the 1st episode about who the dragon really is... (no spoilers lol) im currently mid way through book 4, the changes they have made to the series i can live with. its hard to adapt a series espically one as rich and divers as this 14 book saga. alot of the 1st book is simply thme traveling and inner monologue, so im liking the changes and the mis-directs lol. i cant wait to see what they do next!!

I get the visual representation she plays to that story line. I guess it also added some "shock" factor, I will admit though im not a Perrin fan. like I like his character but IDK he wasn't a stand out for me. im now half way through book 5 so maybe that will change and maybe that's why I can accept his changes a little bit better. I think at the moment I like the show version of him a bit more than the books. IDK some of his internal monologues in the book draggggg for me lol.
The "light blue" is grey and the black is actually brown. I won't spoil what each order does though since you might want to find that out yourself in the series. And yeah, Nynaeve couldn't heal Kerene because she was already dead. ;-; She can heal mortal wounds, but dead is dead unfortunately.
A non-spoiler detail note.. you asked about Fades and the one power.. there's a long backstory with the lore of fades, but a boiled-down explanation is just that they can't use the power, but they can sense it. Not magic-users themselves. But they can walk through shadows and some physics-bending simple stuff. They're basically super ninjas

You are confusing the Whitecloaks with the White Ajah. We haven’t seen any of them yet. Aes Sedai are all women. There are seven Ajahs: Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, Brown, Grey and White. We’ve seen four so far. The Whitecloaks, or Children of the Light, are not channeled. They do not associate with the Aes Sedai because they think anyone who uses the One Power is evil.
10:50 There is a very strong mystical/physical/mental bond between an Aes Sedai and her Warder(s). The Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah are a little more likely to carry that physical bond a little further :-)

Her name is pronounced Ny- NEVE (caps for emphasizing 2nd syllable, not shouting) The overall idea about the ajahs to keep in mind is to think of them life missions. Each ajah deeply believes in their mission to save the world. The three seen in episode 4 are as follows Green - battle ajah - loved the shade thrown at other ajahs and limitations on how many warders you can have! They believe you have to build an army, like yesterday, to fight the shadow. The green that healed Moraine healed like... a battle medic and left a scar Blue - the spy and secrets ajah- these are the women who work behind the scenes to find out the truth behind the shadow (who are the dark friends, where are they hiding, where is the dragon reborn and how do we keep that person safe). This is important because servants of the dark have infiltrated every social strata and group in this story. Red- the most extreme- mission- do whatever it takes to win the last battle. Take no prisoners. Men who can channel are viewed as a menace that must be stopped ("gentle or...). Women who can channel must be conscripted, like it or not. Nynaeve just showed that she's a very, very powerful channeler. What do you think they're thinking after episode 4?! Lastly, Blues and Reds are diametrically opposed. Reds believe the world would be a better place without them. The Amyrlin- the woman who has to unite these 3 and more ajahs without showing favoritism. However, before becoming amyrlin, she belonged becoming to one of the ajahs. Can't you just taste the drama when you meet them in their home (white tower)?
you will learn more about the colours (ajahs) as the show goes on. Weve met green (battle) , blue (sneaky as you said), red (take care of men who can channel) and yellow (one being burnt in ep2 we dont know what they do yet in show). As far as the dragon watch and find out . I will say this tho, this isnt a show/book about one person they are all very important overall.
Kerene was great but you can't heal a corpse. Even the use of the One Power has limits. What happened to Logain is called "gentling". Like Thom said, it cuts off a male channeler from the True Source forever. Technically any Aes Sedai can do it, but the Reds specialize in it because their mandate is to hunt down those who abuse the One Power - which basically includes any man who can channel. That's partially why Reds don't have Warders. You don't have to hate men to be in the Red Ajah.. but it helps. :P
Things are definitely getting interesting as the episodes progress. I didn't expect to meet Logain so early in the series. I've only read the first book in this series so far, but there have been some significant departures from the books, including adding characters who weren't in the books (or at least the first one - I don't remember Perrin having a wife, let alone killing her accidentally, and I don't remember Mat having sisters he took care of either, though maybe that's something revealed later in a book that I haven't read yet?), and it looks like they're omitting some characters as well, not to mention the timeline not quite happening in the same order, so while broad strokes might be the same, I think the series does appear to depart a bit from the books. I just don't know by how much yet. I look forward to watching the rest of the series as it airs and your reactions to it.

You´ve mentioned a few times that you enjoy the lore. I don´t know if someone already said that there is an animated series on amazon that tells some of the stories from this worlds history, for example: the breaking of the world and the legend of Manetheren. You might like them.
your take on rand is spot on, thats basically his character for the first few books and he was the most annoying character until he wasn't lol here is a spoiler free explanation to help with your confusion on the magic system, the prologue in the books explains so much and the series skipped it entirely: All people have a chance to be born with some connection to the source/one power but it is separated in two by genders. Men cannot use the womens side, and women cannot use the mens side. Before the series takes place, the prologue explains that there was a big ass fight which culminated in men and women sending some guy back to his side of the house. This pissed him off so much that he tried to corrupt the one power before being sent home. Fortunately he only had enough time to corrupt the male half in a way that cause men to slowly go insane. In the books it was implied that they don't actually need to channel because they're born with the connection so the madness will eventually take over no matter what.
Ajahs: yellow-healers, brown-researchers/historians/keepers of artifacts, grey-diplomacy, white-logic based, blue=causes, green-battle Ajah, red-hunt down and kill/gentle male channelers. The reds don't suck souls out, they cut men off from being able to touch the one power. The overzealous ones just kill the male channelers
Not to be too obvious, but does that old Manathern blood from the Two Rivers set a whole new level for using the one power. These Aes Sedai are like Level 9 in the power, and Ny is already Level 50 with her first weave... what happens after some practice?

There is only one dragon. As for the aeis sedai colors, there are 7 (blue, red, green, yellow, brown, grey, and white) that each have their own functions, the Children of the Light (commonly referred to as White Cloaks) are a separate organization
I submit to you that Logain isn't the bad guy here. The Red Ajah kidnapped him. His army was rescuing their leader from an offensive force who kidnapped him. He was trying to save the world. He defended himself from the 3 Aes Sedai. And he defended himself from a warder trying to kill him. Everything he did was in self defense. The Aes Sedai were the aggressors.
Aes Sedai- “eye said-eye” Moraine - “more-rain” Nyneave-“Nye-neev” Perrin (Marcus Rutherford) is 6’2” and wanting to hug him is exactly as you should feel. That’s his character to a T. Some Aes Sedai have a platonic relationship with their Warders and some have a more intimate relationship others marry their Warders. Dreams are significant in this world. I think the fade was looking for the boys in the house. Matt sensed the fade, because of the dagger. The evil of Shaddar Logoth is in the dagger. That evil was in direct opposition of the Dark One.
There's no Black Ajah(TM). You probably saw brown or grey, the librarian/historian and lawyer ajah's respectively. White if you're aes sedai means you're a math, logic, or philosophy professor.
One person is the Dragon those close to the Dragon are T'vern which means they are prominent in the wheel and to the Dragon. Those men in white are like " zealous Christians" they don't like women with power. The Black Ajah has not been met yet ...

The Whitecloaks you saw in Episode 2 aren't part of the Aes Sedai, though. The White Ajah is comprised entirely of women, as White Ajah sisters usually stay in Tar Valon and therefore don't usually take Warders.

About the battle, if you remember from Episode 2 Moiraine talking about the three oaths, they can not use the One Power as a weapon except to defend their lives, the life of their Warder or another Aes Sedai so they literally had to wait for their lives to be in danger before they could F them up.

Mat is affected by the dagger he picked up in the cursed shadow city, you can see the same type of shadow creeping in and out of his mouth. The fade was hiding from him holding the dagger, just as the trollocs did not dare to enter the shadow city. Or that’s my take on it. Great reaction 😊

It is evil. But the evil is from humans and not from the Dark Lord. The Fade was actually afraid of Mat because of that dagger.

Not every Aes Sedai is strong in the power. Only Moraine, Liandrin, and Kerene were the strongest Aes Sedai at that camp….before Nyneave showed up😄

But yeah, some Aes Sedai are stronger with the power than others, and some have specific skills that they're stronger at (e.g. healing, controlling weather, etc.)
Nynaeve is strong but struggles for control .. She puts her own restraints on herself.
The Fade can travel through the shadows by fading in and out. That’s why they’re called Fade or Lurk. Fade is stronger and faster than a human, and it’s stare causes paralyzing fear. Fades are lieutenants in Dark One’s army they typically lead detachments of Trollocs or carry assassinations.
Explaining how Fade found them would have a spoiler in it, so I won’t do it.
Mat is being posted by the evil from Shadar Logos (the city they stayed in). In the lore you have the Good - Light/Creator and Evil - Dark One/ Chaos. Evil of Shadar Logos is human hate, it’s something people made outside of Dark One. It’s a third entity. As it was a hate towards the Dark One originally it is still a force that will attack both good and evil. That’s why Mat who is possessed by it was able to sense the Fade

So when an Aes Sedai dies her warder doesn't die too immediately, but he essentially enters a rage/depression where he will go out seeking death until it finds him.
Fades have nothing do do with the One Power, they're monsters like the Trollocs. But a lot stronger, smarter and with more abilities.
Not exactly true. Fades can sense the Power being channeled. It's a genetic thing.
Every once in a while, instead of a trolloc being born- a fade is instead. There is a theory that fades are those souls who have the spark.
I like to think this spark allows them to bond trollocs similar to the warder bond, hence the compulsion aspect and if the fade dies, the trollocs are incaped
I'm glad that the chemistry I detected in episode 3 between Nynaeve and Lan was real. This episode proved that. I'm still not sure if there is anything sexual between Lan and Moiraine. That ending though😀 Loved it. I knee Nynaeve's powers were going to be something 😊I said the same thing about Kerene. I wish could have saved her. I think the dagger that Mat has, is doing something to him... I'm looking forward to the next episode 😊
According to the books lan and Nynaeve strictly plutonic not to spoil too much but they did a great job explaining the diff ajahs but they have changed quite a bit from the books Who Knows lol

Nice catch with Logaine crying, gentling (men) and stilling (females) is supposed to be incredibly painful ... Lobotomy and castration rolled into one apparently
The reason Kerene sacrificed herself is she was the only one who could sense Logaine's magic piercing her protective shield. Though we are able to see all of them channeling, it is mentioned that woman can't see a man channeling (and vice-versa). So Kerene just did it on instinct ! 😢
They seem to not be doing the whole opposite sexes can't see the others channeling. Because he then refers to the healing explosion as a raging sun.... but he should not be able to see it... but clearly did.
@@AnxietyRat I do what I can to not compare the books to the show, because I understand how adaptations work, but it is one of the first big plot holes the show has seemed to create for itself, because they established that women cannot see men channeling, so I wonder if it is because she drew so much power that he was able to see it, and that’s why it confirmed raging sun to him because he too knew he shouldn’t have been able to see it... interesting to see if they address it later, or is it a plot hole?

Logain cannot see Ny's weaves - he was reacting to an actual shockwave and debris coming from her explosion of saidar.

Couple non-spoiler notes: 1) We haven’t met the white Ajah yet. They are logical thinker types, like Vulcans. The only white group we saw was the Whitecloaks, a male religious zealot group opposed to the Aes Sedai. 2) The non-communication you’re picking up on is a big part of the books, and yep seems like they’re keeping that in the show. 3) Aes Sedai + Warders have a magical bond that allows that to feel each, which leads to intense intimacy. Some turn that into romance, many don’t. Aes Sedai are also according to the author “1/3 up to 1/2” romantic with each other, depending on the Ajah.
im loving all the hints that are being thrown out about who the dragon really is, i mean they are throwing alot of maybes out there but they have also been showing ALOT of hints from the 1st episode about who the dragon really is... (no spoilers lol) im currently mid way through book 4, the changes they have made to the series i can live with. its hard to adapt a series espically one as rich and divers as this 14 book saga. alot of the 1st book is simply thme traveling and inner monologue, so im liking the changes and the mis-directs lol. i cant wait to see what they do next!!

I guess it also added some "shock" factor, I will admit though im not a Perrin fan. like I like his character but IDK he wasn't a stand out for me. im now half way through book 5 so maybe that will change and maybe that's why I can accept his changes a little bit better. I think at the moment I like the show version of him a bit more than the books. IDK some of his internal monologues in the book draggggg for me lol.

The "light blue" is grey and the black is actually brown. I won't spoil what each order does though since you might want to find that out yourself in the series. And yeah, Nynaeve couldn't heal Kerene because she was already dead. ;-; She can heal mortal wounds, but dead is dead unfortunately.
A non-spoiler detail note.. you asked about Fades and the one power.. there's a long backstory with the lore of fades, but a boiled-down explanation is just that they can't use the power, but they can sense it. Not magic-users themselves. But they can walk through shadows and some physics-bending simple stuff. They're basically super ninjas

You are confusing the Whitecloaks with the White Ajah. We haven’t seen any of them yet. Aes Sedai are all women. There are seven Ajahs: Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, Brown, Grey and White. We’ve seen four so far. The Whitecloaks, or Children of the Light, are not channeled. They do not associate with the Aes Sedai because they think anyone who uses the One Power is evil.
10:50 There is a very strong mystical/physical/mental bond between an Aes Sedai and her Warder(s). The Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah are a little more likely to carry that physical bond a little further :-)

The overall idea about the ajahs to keep in mind is to think of them life missions. Each ajah deeply believes in their mission to save the world. The three seen in episode 4 are as follows
Green - battle ajah - loved the shade thrown at other ajahs and limitations on how many warders you can have! They believe you have to build an army, like yesterday, to fight the shadow. The green that healed Moraine healed like... a battle medic and left a scar
Blue - the spy and secrets ajah- these are the women who work behind the scenes to find out the truth behind the shadow (who are the dark friends, where are they hiding, where is the dragon reborn and how do we keep that person safe). This is important because servants of the dark have infiltrated every social strata and group in this story.
Red- the most extreme- mission- do whatever it takes to win the last battle. Take no prisoners. Men who can channel are viewed as a menace that must be stopped ("gentle or...). Women who can channel must be conscripted, like it or not. Nynaeve just showed that she's a very, very powerful channeler. What do you think they're thinking after episode 4?! Lastly, Blues and Reds are diametrically opposed. Reds believe the world would be a better place without them.
The Amyrlin- the woman who has to unite these 3 and more ajahs without showing favoritism. However, before becoming amyrlin, she belonged becoming to one of the ajahs. Can't you just taste the drama when you meet them in their home (white tower)?
I don't feel I'm spoiling to say there's only one dragon but lots of people do very important and integral things through the story too

you will learn more about the colours (ajahs) as the show goes on. Weve met green (battle) , blue (sneaky as you said), red (take care of men who can channel) and yellow (one being burnt in ep2 we dont know what they do yet in show). As far as the dragon watch and find out . I will say this tho, this isnt a show/book about one person they are all very important overall.
Kerene was great but you can't heal a corpse. Even the use of the One Power has limits.
What happened to Logain is called "gentling". Like Thom said, it cuts off a male channeler from the True Source forever. Technically any Aes Sedai can do it, but the Reds specialize in it because their mandate is to hunt down those who abuse the One Power - which basically includes any man who can channel.
That's partially why Reds don't have Warders. You don't have to hate men to be in the Red Ajah.. but it helps. :P
Things are definitely getting interesting as the episodes progress. I didn't expect to meet Logain so early in the series. I've only read the first book in this series so far, but there have been some significant departures from the books, including adding characters who weren't in the books (or at least the first one - I don't remember Perrin having a wife, let alone killing her accidentally, and I don't remember Mat having sisters he took care of either, though maybe that's something revealed later in a book that I haven't read yet?), and it looks like they're omitting some characters as well, not to mention the timeline not quite happening in the same order, so while broad strokes might be the same, I think the series does appear to depart a bit from the books. I just don't know by how much yet. I look forward to watching the rest of the series as it airs and your reactions to it.

You´ve mentioned a few times that you enjoy the lore. I don´t know if someone already said that there is an animated series on amazon that tells some of the stories from this worlds history, for example: the breaking of the world and the legend of Manetheren. You might like them.

here is a spoiler free explanation to help with your confusion on the magic system, the prologue in the books explains so much and the series skipped it entirely:
All people have a chance to be born with some connection to the source/one power but it is separated in two by genders. Men cannot use the womens side, and women cannot use the mens side. Before the series takes place, the prologue explains that there was a big ass fight which culminated in men and women sending some guy back to his side of the house.
This pissed him off so much that he tried to corrupt the one power before being sent home. Fortunately he only had enough time to corrupt the male half in a way that cause men to slowly go insane. In the books it was implied that they don't actually need to channel because they're born with the connection so the madness will eventually take over no matter what.
Did I detect a Wondershowzen reference? "Beat Kids! Kids on the beat! Beat Kids!"
Ajahs: yellow-healers, brown-researchers/historians/keepers of artifacts, grey-diplomacy, white-logic based, blue=causes, green-battle Ajah, red-hunt down and kill/gentle male channelers.
The reds don't suck souls out, they cut men off from being able to touch the one power. The overzealous ones just kill the male channelers

The Big Bad threw a curse on the One Power before being sealed, corrupting the male side because Jordan was a cishet, all thinking he was deep by reversing the power dynamic but you know lgbt and especially trans folk are not having a good time in this place.

I submit to you that Logain isn't the bad guy here. The Red Ajah kidnapped him. His army was rescuing their leader from an offensive force who kidnapped him. He was trying to save the world. He defended himself from the 3 Aes Sedai. And he defended himself from a warder trying to kill him. Everything he did was in self defense. The Aes Sedai were the aggressors.

There's no Black Ajah(TM). You probably saw brown or grey, the librarian/historian and lawyer ajah's respectively. White if you're aes sedai means you're a math, logic, or philosophy professor.
One person is the Dragon those close to the Dragon are T'vern which means they are prominent in the wheel and to the Dragon.
