This is a good example of why it's very difficult to put Lovebites' music into a specific box. I would say this masterpiece is a seamless and innovative blend of speed-power/thrash/neoclassical metal
I heard this song live tonight in Yokohama Japan. Asami's voice came out better than it did at the Tokyo show on September 24. It was a great performance.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the concert. Now that all the shows for this specific tour are over, maybe someone can post the setlist for Yokohama. I'm curious to see what the difference is between tonight and Tokyo on 24 Sept.
The first and last are correct, but I don't remember the rest of the order well. The songs were like this. We Are The Resurrection Don't Bite The Dust Break The Wall Shadowmaker Liar Edge Of The World M.D.O. Holy War Swan Song Nameless Warrior The Spirit Lives On(first time performance) Stand And Deliver Dissonance My Orion Judgement Day Soldier Stands Solitarily We The United If wrong, someone please correct this.
Haruna did a drum solo during the livestream concert - she was amazing. This is why everyone should buy tickets to see the livestreams whenever they are offered. You never know what you will miss if you don't.
Metal Goddesses always deliver ! They're coming to the states next year, playing a festival in Atlanta.. My hope is people will step up and promote them for more tour dates. Lovebites needs worldwide fame. They are world class artists !

Genius of Miyako. How can she mix up high melodic vocals into a chaotic power metal sound? And its beautiful top notch 😮. But, it's a really hard task for Haruna and Asami..and they succeed. Miyako feels sorry for them and explained it why. Thanks bro🤘🤘👍
As real musicians, these women can play anything. They have influences from many of the great rock and metal band of the past but they have developed their unique style. This song is a masterpiece.
This is eclectic metal . Combination of many metal styles with classical music. Probably the first band who does it and creates it because of their uncommon talent and skills. Only Ladies are able to achieve such high bar of musicianship.
As for what is their 'genre', Asami announces it on stage at some point in Every concert: *_ "We are Lovebites . . . and we play Heavy Metaaaaal!!" _* nuff said 🤘🐺🐺🐺🤘
🤘🏼🎸🥁🎤🐺❤️🔥🇯🇵🇮🇹Best Band! Best New Song I saw the Girls play it live in the live stream on 24/9 and it was amazing, this song composed by Miyako put the whole Band to the test, Guitarists and Bass, Singer and Haruna is a Tornado... Great! I Love Lovebites!
There is no comparable genre, lovebites are unique! They are unequalled and unique. Haruna doesn't need to perform cheesy drum solos, we all know her professionalism and uniqueness is metronome superior to any drummer out there (excluding Junna of course) this band is unique and gendreless and something very very new I wish people could stop trying to pigeonhole them and just accept the ladies for what they are, the best and most original band seen for decades, maybe ever!!
"We are lovebites and we play heavy metal" . They have songs that cover the whole genre of heavy metal, whether it be slow and melodic ballads or power/speed metal, thrash, symphonic and classical influences are also often heard throughout their catalogue of masterpieces, they have mastered all styles of metal 💯, keep going on the journey and you'll never get disappointed 🤘🎸🎹🎤🥁🐺
As a lifelong fan of Ritchie I fell in love with LOVEBITES because of their virtuosity, not the style of music they played. I have a more traditional, “guitar rock” background but now, the faster LOVEBITES play, the more I like it. Ritchie said a long time ago that a good song has to have good melodies to “take the audience along with you” So I find it really funny that diehard metal fans have two things that must be established upon hearing something new. Firstly, after a few bars, they must identify what, to the sub, sub, sub, sub (ad infinitum) genre it is. That usually requires a couple of pauses before they feel comfortable that they have LOVEBITES cemented into their obligatory category. The second thing then follows after more than one song has been heard (and duly labelled)…where does it rank? Is it their favourite (with LOVEBITES it almost always is) or maybe their 4th favourite, behind…..you get the idea. None of this is specifically aimed at you Brian, but the answer to what genre are they”? Is easy. Yes.
Thank you for your comment, I do that for myself especially if I hear a direct reference to no only a band, but a specific song. I do that out of reverence for what a great band Lovebites is and what a great band for us all to witness.
As for Lovebites' overall genre, websites normally list them as "power metal". I think that for their newer output (from Electric Pentagram onwards) that is soooomewhat accurate, with caveats. For their older output, I'd prefer "heavy metal" or "classic heavy metal" altogether, although that too does not cover everything, since already back then they had forays into thrash, power metal, and some hard rock. The second studio album Clockwork Immortality has some AOR moments as well. They've become markedly heavier since Electric Pentagram, and more recognizably power metal, although that is still not the whole story since there's still thrash and some classic metal and hard rock elements in there as well. Also, while what they're aiming for now may be broadly speaking European-style power metal, Lovebites are a good deal heavier and faster than most bands of that style. At times they remind me of a style of 80s metal that has mostly been forgotten nowadays, and that is US-style power metal, or USPM, which was always a bit heavier and thrashier than its European counterpart and was more riff-oriented, sort of like a cross between power metal and thrash: bands like Sanctuary. On the other hand, Lovebites are as a rule faster than USPM. I think a good neutral description of their genre would be "A panoply of the melodic styles of 80s metal, updated and played faster and heavier, leaning towards thrashy, fast power metal" or as a shorthand "thrashy, classic-influenced, heavy, fast power metal", at least for their newer output. Their older output is "British-style heavy metal".
I understand what you're saying about creating space and letting the song breath amongst constant speed. Personally, I could live with the in your face speed all day, but to me it's all about compositional genius in how this song (all of their songs actually) is constructed. They live in the world of complexity. Very few of their songs can you place into a single genre. Speed, thrash, power, heavy, etc - blend them all, and that's what you get. Nice reaction.

Actually Todays Asami was the best among them performance wise, along with Haruna.

LOVEBITES - Soldier Stands Solitarily lyrics:
Everything was whited out the morning I woke up
If tomorrow never comes
Was it ever even here? Nobody knows
Trying to find key to the door
It's me and no one else
All in my hand
Things aren't as easy as "right" and "wrong'
You only need one thing to be proud of
Solitary soldier
Fighting till the end
I'm not satisfied
Solitary fire
Even with the scars
I'm not satisfied
If I can take it all back
Daydreaming won't change a thing, so worthless
Life is always back and forth of hurting and getting hurt
Can't change this
I have been searching for something long
Not enough time to care what others think
Solitary soldier
Fighting till the end
I'm not satisfied
Solitary fire
Even with the scars
I'm not satisfied
SOLOS: miyako / midori / both
Things aren't as easy as "right" and "wrong'
You only need one thing to be proud of
Solitary soldier
Fighting till the end
I'm not satisfied
Solitary fire
Even with the scars
I'm not satisfied
Solitary soldier
Fighting till the end
I'm not satisfied
Solitary fire
Even with the scars
I'm not satisfied

Haruna on drums is on Warp speed in this one! Wonder where she has hidden her 3:rd arm! ;-)
3rd?? She is so talented, even an octopus would envy her!!!
They performed this song live in one of their latest live concerts.
In their current Japan tour Haruna does have a small 3 minute drum solo between songs, it was awesome!! 🤘🥁✨ This song was also awesome live!! 🤘🐺🔥
This is neoclassical power metal! 🎸🔥🤘

If nobody has mentioned it - in recent years Midori is mixed left channel and Miyako right.

Hey, Dude! You MUST react to Lovebites - Dissonance from their new album! MUST! Thanks for reaction! Best wishes from Bulgaria - Europe! Cheers!🥃
Will do, thank you.

Best double-guitar in the Business!! Miyako, the golden touch and Midori, the crazy shredder!

For me I just classify rhis song as a neoclassical power/speed metal. 😊

Gary Moore is Miyako's favorite guitarist 🎸
we are Lovebites we play Heavy Metal
About the genre: Thrash, speed metal, power metal, nvobhm. I think we have most there🤘😁🤘
Awesome song and band. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Another song like this is Dystopia Symphony
And Miyako composed this
The genre: Wolf Metal
Remind me a lot of Angra tbh (Pre 2010)
haruna..haruna..haruna..🤘🤘🤘
Yes! Yes! Yes!
It's power metal, but extreme. Let's say, Extreme Power Metal.
The girls are usually compared to iron maiden
This is not a pop song! It's fast and heavy...
I think is more in "speed metal"
Who cares about genres, really????
Unfortunately, pretty much everyone.
