A few bits and pieces of the animation in this preview look like they came from the sequel, "Adieu Galaxy Express 999". Doesn't detract from this at all though, good stuff all the same.

Her name isn't pronounced like Matel, it's Metal because she's an android.

Still, it's been an acceptable pronunciation for some of us. Of course her name should be spelled "Maeter".

According to Animerica interview. Matsumoto said Maetel 'Does NOT use Machine Body. nor her natural one. she's 'different being' entirely.
