Thank you for all the ways you support the work we do at NEMA.
NEMA has been a gathering space for museum professionals in the Northeast since 1918, making it one of the first regional associations focused on connecting a community engaged in learning, collaboration, and action to cultivate a better museum world.
This year, NEMA has a lot to celebrate! Kicking-off this past fall, we welcomed our seventh Executive Director, Kayla G. Coleman. In the spring, we launched the ever popular NEMA Salary & Benefits Survey, established in 1978. And let’s not forget the convening in Portland for our 105th Annual NEMA Conference.
While taking stock of these exciting milestones, Team NEMA is moving forward with plans for the 106th Conference in Newport, RI, with a timely theme: “We the Museum: Toward a ‘More Perfect’ Vision for our Changing World.” As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, now is a time to reflect on both the origin of the country’s museums, as well as consider the field not only in its current state, but where it has grown from the past, and what it can be in the future. We hope you and your colleagues will join us in Newport!
