To be clear: Disassembly is normally a lot harder than this! The obvious reason hes having such an easy time is that all of these parts are brand new! If only all jobs were like that Id still have skin on my knuckles!
4:20, should mention to people who are trying to learn what to do...that you have to feed the shaft through the wheel bearing BEFORE connecting the knuckle to the strut. Also, by using the impact you overtorqued the axle nut, which can also cause premature wear to the hub assembly. Your torque wrenched beeped without moving the nut...so you either lucked out and torqued it to exactly the right torque with the impact (unlikely), or your impact set the torque well beyond the max torque spec. Moog specifically states to not use an impact on that nut, for that reason.
I watched this video then I purchased the socket sizes he mentioned. The axle shaft change went well. This is a great video and I am sure people can nitpick it to death. If you are going to change your axle, go by what he says. In the comments some people are saying the torque value he gives for the axle nuts is wrong. The specification he gave is correct. I have the 2004 shop manual for this car that was written and published by GM. The shop manual torque value agrees with what he said.
We're gonna go ahead and go ahead...! If the needless "go ahead" tic Americans had was a drinking game... it would kill a Russian alcoholic! But good demonstration video! Thanks for showing me that it's a pretty simple job.
If your knuckle assembly/cv axle is rusty you will need more than a push with your finger, i broke a 20 ton press trying to break them apart, when it finally gave it came out with a piece of the bearing. Trying removing the axle nut in advance and soaking it with penetrating oil. You may even want to put the nut back on and drive the car a few days to help it loosen (do not drive with a loose nut). Hope this helps
I must put a disclaimer that they didn't add. From what I have experienced, this looks like the passenger side. I know a person can see that in the beginning, but if a person is new to this, they may be slightly surprised when pulling the driver side axle off and realizing its not splined... Other than that, it is an informative video.
Checking the transmission level, have the car in the most level parking area you can find, I had my car pointing down and the level on the stick was way higher, so check that out.
6:00 I don’t mean to call you guys out on anything but the spec of the nut is 159 ft lbs I’d know I’ve redone the whole suspension on my 2010 Chevy impala just thought I’d let you guys know

After removing the wheel, switch the vehicle from a salt-blasted rust heap to something shiny and clean before proceeding.

Is it possible to take off the ball joint to take axel out as well as someone is also telling me that is also a way to do so without an alignment
Yeah that tie rod didn’t look important anyway.
Nicely done, thank you so much! I'm guessing that sway bar linkage is next video.....just say'in....
would this work on a 06 impala ss?
Eazy I'ma replace my this weekend
You might want to order an outer tie rod end, mine busted trying to get it off.
excellent video thank you very much
+fabian macias Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Excellent video, thank you. God bless.
Hi thanks for your help I will try that.Thanks.
Is this basically the same for an 06 Malibu??
Also blasting down that axle nut with an impact is a good way to melt the bearing
hello, what about tie rod reinstall and torque
Did he put the bolts in backwards

Could you open the transmission at this point to replace solenoids where does more have to come off?
When torquing the axle nut just stick a screwdriver in the rotor
Do you grease the axle?
You obviously tightened the axle not too tight with the impact because when you torqued it down it didn't move.
When you Grab the Cv joint at the transmission side should it wiggle from side to side?
Axle nut torque specs are wrong it’s supposed to be 155 ft lbs
Which front axle are compatible with trailblazer 2013 model....help plzz
Diagnosing cv problem.
Look at the other.side and compare.
Funny because my driver shaft was an female insertion towards the transmission and not a splined male
Chevy impala 2011 lt 3500
True mechanics don't use a torque wrench
Should be 150 ft pounds.
