@@Jennifer-qb8oi That is awesome your kit came with 3 sizes of needles. I am not sure what type of wool you have. I would experiment with all 3 needles and see which ones seems to felt better for you. Just start small, like trying to shape a ball or heart. If you felt for a few minutes and are not seeing results of the wool matting then the barbs are not catching the wool. Some needles pull wool faster which can help time but I felt takes away from shaping some. Slower pulling needles allowed me to shape better, however too slow or a dull needle can take ages! I hope this helps. Happy Felting 🌬️🤍❄️🌲
I am a milliner who just wet felted a hat capeline and then took left over dye to make a nuno scarf. I AM GRATEFUL for this video I plan to save my shoulder by needle felting a rose for the hat

Yes! You are very welcome. And thank you for asking! The wool I use is a usually a blend of wool and I like wool batting for most of my projects. I will link some Maori wool for you. The blue things is a dense foam felting surface. It protects the Needle and surface. You can always check the description of my videos for links. And here are links to the supplies to make this too! This is fairly easy. I think the most complicated part was attaching the petals together. Also making thin items can be challenging at first. If you are very patient and constantly flip the petal back and forth you will get there. Also wool is very forgiving, you can always cut away any excess wool if you are struggling with the shaping. I usually would recommend a ball, heart or star for beginners to get an idea how the Wool and Needle work together. I would think a very patient person could make this with sometime invested. Also, I made this video in kind of the Felt with me style, so if you followed along closely I bet you could make it pretty similar. My first creation was a Snowflake, so I saw right away how getting a feel with a simpler item would be helpful but I was very determined to make it work. If you go for it and need any help, I am happy to Coach you along and/or answer any questions. Sorry to be long winded. I hope this helps.
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer me. I think I will try some of your “simpler” tutorials, and work up to this one. I think I can do it, just wanna get the feel of working with more basic shapes before tackling a flower. I tried to do an animal before but got discouraged since it calls for definite precision so I found myself sticking to simple “landscapes” instead. Sorry for the long reply 😊
@@teresarex2721 Yes, I completely understand. Animals can be challenging, that symmetry is important when it comes the time & the tiny details. I hope these videos can help build your confidence back up. Have a wonderful weekend!

How long did it take you to felt the petals?
I would say around an hour each. Hard to keep track of time, my babies were little so there was a lot of stop and go.
Hello, could a beginner make this, or should I start with something else first?
