@@samjiman Yes but it's done with sort of a short-cut. Instead of drawing every frame, I only have to draw *some* frames. I linked the video I learned from in the description if you are interested in learning more!

My main issue with the toilet thing is that there was no reason for him to suspect there was anything in the toilet at all. There was no way he could see through that "murky" water, let alone suspect there would be anything useful. He full commits like, "Cool toilet, I think I'll see how far I can reach into it," with absolutely no outside information telling him he should.

Fun fact, they directly reference this in Silent Hill 3. At one point you can try to get Heather to stick her hand in a clogged toilet, and she almost does it, but then she goes "UGH forget it this is way too gross." Then she, I kid you not, looks directly into the camera and says "WHO WOULD EVEN THINK OF DOING SOMETHING SO DISGUSTING?"
The devs 100% knew.
Unlocked achievement 'Shame'
Was such a genius call out to Silent Hill 2. As a kid being scared playing my 3rd silent hill, that was a good way to lighten the mood for me.
Heather is best protagonist
And it only works if you have a SH2 save on your PS2.
There is a reference of this moment in Withering rooms too.
I recommend this game.
And the syringes, he was jamming those rusty old RANDOM syringes all over his arms
Jack from Bioshock did the same thing when he found his first EVE hypo, and this is AFTER he's aware that he's stuck in this rundown underwater city full of bloodthirsty maniacs.

The entire puzzle element of this game felt very outdated. Resident Evil at least attempted to make the puzzles a little more reasonable, but here? If you were stuck in a town full of monsters, would you really go to a record store to fix a broken record that just so happens to release a key stuck in a jukebox you had no way of knowing about?
@pepethunder it kind of adds to surrealism and dreaminess of the game. Notice how at the end it goes even more absurd by him jumping into holes.
@@Ellionart Yeah, people are missing out on what makes surreal great. Maybe we need some info on who put what in the holes to really flesh out the LORE lol.
Look it was a different time back then. If you saw a dark hole, you just stuck your hand in it to see what was inside. Now nobody sticks their hands anywhere because they too busy on their phones
Can you imagine this game after COVID? James would be too afraid to get any part of him even A LITTLE dirty. You would have to find the Arm-Length Gloves in the Hospital, before he would even consider sticking his arm into a black, goo-filled hole.
@@BrockLee3 this reminded me of that scene in Workaholics when he has to reach into a pool of sludge in a sewer, so he puts on a jumbo condom which goes up to his elbow.
Who knew that jumbo condoms was the one thing James should have been stocking up on instead of needles he just happens to pick up from random places?? 🤷♂️

But, yes! James does things which normal people would NOT. EXAMPLE: I was at a gas station; when I saw a bottle of THC exctract sitting next to one of the gas-pumps. I asked the guy on the other side of the pump if the bottle was his; and, he said, "No." So, I said, "Okay, then." I immediately picked up the bottle, and threw it into the garbage can. He said, "Good answer." That bottle could have been tampered with...who knows what was ACTUALLY in that bottle? But, James probably wouldn't have cared.

The amount of random guesses someone would have to make to get through Silent Hill is more dangerous than the monsters that can be beaten with a stick

I think it's well established that James is very preoccupied with putting things in holes.

You only stick your hand in one hole in the wall in the original. In the remake they decided to essentially make this Silent Hill's version of Super Mario's Question Blocks...
And seriously why did they make us press the button 3 times on every single hole you reach into and jump into? It got really old after the 10th time. The remake lacked any subtly the original had. You're telling me by the end of the labyrinth James is still hesitant to jump down a hole? The whole point is he jumps down with reckless abandon because he doesn't care what happens to him.
@@MrNickMagnante I've been saying that for hole jumps in the labyrinth for the longest. Like I get the first two times you jump into a dark hole, but after the third, fourth, fifth time you may as well be doing flips as you dive in.
@@MrNickMagnante it adds points for one of the endings if you take a moment or back out fully before going through with it. If you button mash then you get a lower score and potentially lock an ending.

Yeah! Take this ^ guy's advice. I tried looking into one of those bathroom-holes...and, something jammed itself into my eye. I don't know what it was...but, it looked like a purple-headed cyclop with it eye closed.
True, in order to solve that puzzle and earn the Cyclops’s reward you need to hold your open mouth up to the hole instead.

It would have been appropriate for James to pull out half of a figurine from the lake or something else from the lake and Maria's just flabbergasted that stuff's in random places or that James really wants to collect junk.

I like to think in a better time James never went to Silent Hill and ended up visiting his dad instead which led to him helping Henry escape his apartment and then the two of them became dopey best buds.
If James didn't stick his appendages into every hole he happened to pass by he wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.

I like that you got the exact type of dialogue from the original game in the first half also main reason James keeps putting his hands and arms in toilets and dirty walls is because he doesn’t care about his health or well being anymore. He really just wants to catch a disease and die then live with guilt and depression.

I'll never forget my first playthrough. I was stuck for weeks. I checked everything I could think of. Eventually I ended up clicking on and a fence. That was all it took.
Horror Game protagonists are often just really weird people who will shove their hands into random places expecting to find something for no reason.
And the staircase or door with a random milk crate or traffic cone blocking it... dude just step over it
He could actually washes his hands this way... but dropping Maria saves him a lot of troubles, though.
