If you ever decide to do an away kit Mate, little tip for you. Player goes into a blob of blue tack, like you used. This time put the blue tack onto a cork or a plastic bottle. Gives you something more substantial to hold when you're painting the figure. Also, rest your wrist on the table, to make your hand less shaky while painting. Personally I would use varnish, but two or three thin coats is better than one thick coat.
I painted my players back when I started in the 70’s....but it’s hard hard work...not sure, that I at 54 will do that ever again 😆. You did a fantastic job though, good work!
Santiago is good place or subbuteoworld selling blank Zeugo figure figures. Or little plastic men (Lpm) I’ve used both Santiago and Zeugo and prefer Santiago
@@SubbuteoCollector thanks. You think it'll lay on my kitchen table? I really like the look of that pitch but doesn't look like it comes in the actual box set? I'm stuck between that and the England 2020 set - what would you recommend? Thanks mate
Yeah should be, if it polished wood tho, like a table it might slip and slide and little. If you have another pitch could be worth laying it underneath
Good to watch this!! I loved this back in the day still have my old box I thin Watford were on the cover mid 80s!! Do you get larger figures than the standard at all for painting?
Excellent man, yeah that thats classic that box. You can get larger figures, they did a Barca, an athletic madrid, real Madrid and Juventus a few years ago lost of people made the real marid in other sides
I this I used Vallejo, but nowadays I'd say Humbrol. Check out a channel by Westwood Table Soccer, his channel is all about painting and even have video based on what paints to use. Tell him I said hi. ua-cam.com/channels/_4VL0PcerK8gpyoOw6VkDg.html
@@SubbuteoCollector Thanks, Cool, I've been looking at Humbrol after checking out Westwood Table Soccer. I have a football scene on my Model railway so I'm adapting and painting some Subbuteo players. I'm doing Bristol City v Watford :-)
Kris Jones Zeugo is another brand from Italy. They used to be distributer for subbuteo before they lost the lost license so the created there own and called Zeugo. The world edition is a newer set, not great but a great idea
Apart from my nervous disposition watching you paint & assemble these tiny figures Stuart, you worried me when putting knives etc on a nice clean P.L pitch THEN!! you used an upturned baize pitch as a protective cloth AND!!! sprayed varnish over it whilst coating the players!!! HaHa Well done anyway.
don't panic its an old, pitch I ruined anyone. People always get nervous when I unbox using knives near the pitches. It's become an in joke for me now lol.
Superb mate...Great looking team
Gary B thanks pal
Looked pretty decent all in all if you ask me. Love the kit 👍🏻
Joe starling well I’m glad you approve, wonder where the sticker on the box come from ....🤔

id reccomend gettin some warhammer slot bases and a model painting handle slide them in base and the handle makes them easier to hold
sound advice
When painting, I stick the player into a ball of blue tac. Makes it so much easier to handle and paint accurately
Top tip
How much did it all cost?
Erm, I'd team was just under a tenner, paints and every altogether, I'd £25 :). Don't forge to hit the subscribe button and bell for more videos
You got great skills. Can you tell me if the two boxes on left USA goal and the one in top is that the title ? and is it a game ?
So the two boxes are the USA '94 edition and the Euro 96 edition. Th others are stadium edition's and a general club set. Hope that helps
Yes thank you
Great vid Stewart, nice colour choice 👍wouldn’t ever bother with varnish mate , it’s not necessary!!
Jim Westwood thanks buddy. I’ve learnt the varnish lesson now. Heard a good to remove tho, so let’s see

I’m used to paint 15mm and 28mm figures if anyone wants some players painted.

Stop clapping
In truth, no one ever stops clapping. It's just the gaps between each clap get longer.
