This was such a loss and stupid!!! The Lafayette Building was so iconic and could have been very useful for the future of the city and now its gone! Stupid! That building was built to last forever and was so well built that it would easily outlast much of new construction.
They demolished a nice structurally sound building that ( adjusted to inflation) took $36 million to build. . . If you get lemons make lemonade. Don't throw the lemons away.

This is so sad. It was a beautiful piece of architecture. I guess that the powers that be have no sense of history and beauty.
thats all they can do is replace it with a park, theres too many parks in detroit already!
