Since he’ll be 18 in only two days, I wanted to share an interesting fact about Ikaika: Shortly after he was born in 2002, there was a poll taken on SeaWorld’s website with five naming options. One of them was “Ramius”, after Sean Connery’s character in The Hunt for Red October. (Probably because he shares Sir Sean’s birthday.)
Master Player2.0 yea but they can’t because the orcas are now used to being in captivity not in the ocean and they cannot hunt because the whales have been hand fed for years
Valentina Shortshield okay, i get what your coming from but they cant let them go. because they would probably die, just like keiko did. and also, the whales that were born into captivity won’t survive at all. even if she or hes with its family. they have never experienced the wild before, so in my opinion i dont think its a good idea
@@horse-lover68 you think its not good that they try their hardest for these whales to be happy? would you rather them swimming around in the over chemical filled pool with nothing to do, not preforming or getting any stimulation?
@@castlebrookstables4611 I know these trainers love the animals, everybody can see this. But it's the captivity what I am against. This is the last generation of orca's in the US, but they don't need so suffer. SW is a 2, 5 Billion USD company and could easily afford building a rehabilitation center for these hybrid whales. With a huge pool and a sea pen, so that they can be killer whales. A sea pen with human care and vet care, but they could feel the ocean again and maybe live to their normal life span of 80 (female) or 60 (male) years. SW's CEO is just narrow minded, they would habe tax breaks for building these things, people could watch the orcas in their natural habitat and SW would be heros. But anyway there are already sanctuaries and I want them 5o give the whales to these places. Because they are hybrids, they would never make it in the wild. But all these sick behaviors of the whales and daulphins would be away. Look at the Keiko story: he was thriving in this pool and sea pen in Iceland. But there are some in the US who would take the animals. If the CEO is not smart enough, because with their good name the stockmarket prize would go up again, than let somebody else make these orcas and daulphins happy.
Yes they do, but it's an egoistic love. And when SW decides something, the trainer's cannot do anything. Like taking calfs.away from their mum's and all these nice SW things.
You would be surprised. Cetaceans go ballistic over the simplest of human objects. You can find videos of Bottlenose dolphins going crazy over humans playing with slinkys for example.
🙄🙄Of course they have eyes. They are even able to look in every direction no matter if they swim forward or are half "sitting" (it's all natural) on the stage they see everything.
@Emma’s Roblox channel lmao YOU’RE wrong. Wild orcas are lucky to make it past their first birthday, the actual life expectancy is 25-30, SeaWorld has been researching that, not many orca biologists. So maybe do actual research before commenting.
@@dolphinetlywhales3786 although orcas have about a 50/50 chance of living past the age of 1, their life expectancy is about 50-80 years in the wild, sometimes living up to 90-100+. not one orca in captivity has died of old age, and only 1 captive-born orca has lived past the age of 30
You do realize that killer whales make a lot of different vocals and this are some of them. They preform these vocals he has many other vocals. Just because he is not in the wild doesnt mean he isnt still making wild orca vocals. Each orca pod also has their own vocals that they communicate with so he is using his pods vocals.

They are still living in a fish bowl for life!!!! So maybe if you spend the rest of your life in a cage even though u did nothing to end up there we will find you a nice cage. Dose that make it better

I love orcas ❤

Iswi ssi❤❤
Let them go now
Master Player2.0 I agree
Master Player2.0 yea but they can’t because the orcas are now used to being in captivity not in the ocean and they cannot hunt because the whales have been hand fed for years
@@SeaWorld_Emma They can. Keiko has been trained and taught how to hunt and live on his own.
They have stopped breeding and capturing orcas. But i agree that they should free them. But they have to teach the orcas how to hunt and other stuff.

Orca ❤❤❤❤😢
They must have passed a no ponytail rule after Dawn.
these orcas are so blessed
What?? Why are they blessed?? Because they are hybrids and in captivity, swimming arround in a chemical threated bathtop??

Aeeu deu 15 anos❤
We saw ikaikas 13 birthday
The toy was cute, but I am not sure he liked it
Orkid was born in 1988 that a long time
She's a year and one month older then I am!
Gorgeous animals. I can tell how much the trainer loves the whales.
Yes they do, but it's an egoistic love. And when SW decides something, the trainer's cannot do anything. Like taking calfs.away from their mum's and all these nice SW things.
Edit:behavior?!!? Sticking their tongue out is a regular behavior in the WILD?!
👍👍💜
❤😂
🎉
As tri edi tri sei❤❤❤❤
A bigger birthday. Treat would be to be set free
As edu ddi❤❤❤
One of the most intelligent creatures in the ocean and they are giving them a disk as “enrichment?” 🤦🏽♀️
Even the simplest of toys can make anyone happy.

was this in 2019 or 2018
Actually in 2017, He was born in August of 2002( Im not sure of the date).
💜 are orca’s buttuful
Dangerous
Does he have eyes
Yes they are right under the eye patch there eye patch is a distractions so pray can not See Them
Panda Girl um yea ALL orcas have eyes.. lol

None of your animals live to 70-90 years old and all most of the babies die is that a problem to you?
Tiffany Nguyen Lmao your all wrong the babies probably didn’t make it because of a problem IS THAT A PROBLEM TO YOU?!?!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
i just saw the video that orkid was angry and drag the trainer leg down to the pool
@cristina Banuelos she made it out but not without a couple of broken bones, I imagine
@cristina Banuelos You never know with a captive animal. They can snap at any time for unknown reasons.
@cristina Banuelos Amaya hasn't attacked anyone.
You are confusing Orkid with Katsatka. She dragged her trainer Ken Peters by his leg in 2006.
@@rattiegirl5 no orkid attacked a trainer as well.
My favorite “vocalizations” are the ones they make in the wild. This sounds nothing like a killer whale should :(

Not a cat
Boycott SeaWorld; these animals aren’t meant to be imprisoned
They are meant to roam the oceans
But hey in the wild they never get their birthday celebrated
What
Sea world was bad
I love orcas. At least this Seaworld isn’t cruel to their animals
amen!

No this is probably the worsted I think Orlando is the best then San Antonio
Ikakia is so cute
Is this heathy for them I want one orca
ALSO your letting your whales get sunburned
Tiffany Nguyen no.
The trainers put on special oil when the whale arrives at the place
So they will not get sunburned for 20 years
My cousin worked at SeaWorld San Antonio so that’s how I know..
I'm so angry at you guys
