He is such a good spirited dog. He really only cares about smelling stuff and wandering around with his nose to the ground. Haha. Yeah, its a really fun way to challenge yourself and do something that most people never try.
Man, the water looks a lot cleaner down there than it did at Topsail yesterday. Spanish fishing was a challenge (got a few shorts and one keeper), but we were able to have a blast with the fat alberts and a bunch of decent little blues. I have yet to try flyfishing offshore, but it's on my "to-do" list.
@@ericwilliamsfishing There were plenty of fish in the area, but getting them to hit my spoons in that nasty water was a challenge. The chartreuse, by the way, was a big hit for Spanish and bonita. The spoons and the Spanish candies...
Hey man. I am fishing an Abel Super 8 and they stopped making these versions in 2017. The rod I was using yesterday was a Scott 9wt and 9wt Intermediate Outbound Short Rio fly line. 20 LB Dacron Backing. My setup cost around $800 used so thats why I put a more affordable version in the description. Ideally you could find a NXT 9WT combo for $300 as a great starter but they are hard to find right now.
That was awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching buddy.
I love the Griffin. He's a good dog. Great video man. I never thought fly fishing could be used in the ocean

awesome video Eric! always having a blast! how far offshore you go? the houses looks small!
Thanks for checking it out. This was a mile or so out. I’ve gone as far as 5 in this boat.
Thanks for sharing, Eric! Always great to watch your adventures. Hopefully I'll get out on the ICW and creeks next weekend.
We have had a nice push of fish - drum around the inlets, spanish and albies around the beach, kings off an on - its almost trout time too!

I fished Kure last night and the water was nasty looking but loaded with spanish. I guess its kinda hit or miss at the moment.

I only come to check out Griffin. 🎣
He said he appreciates you.
Great vid! Fishing was good at nags head - sheepshead hung around
Thats awesome man. I'm glad y'all got on some of them!
Nice! Is that a 10 wt or 8?
Super 8 Abel on a 9’ 9wt rod. The line is a sinking tip too.
@@ericwilliamsfishing I’m getting the itch to start fly fishing the salt. The mountain trips are too few and far between.
Hey bro message me your fly rod set up. We’ve had schools of them up here for months now. Great vid as always!
